Rain Shield with Angled Louvers
Open your RV roof vent any time and in any weather. This one-of-a-kind rain shield fully surrounds and encloses the vent opening, so you never have to worry about pesky rainwater seeping in and damaging the interior of your RV. Its integrated angled louvers let odors, stale air, and moisture escape while allowing rainwater to run off. This solid design saves you time and money since there's no need to purchase and install a separate vent cover.
Not only does this roof vent defeat rainwater, but it protects against bugs and debris too. The vent has 2 different screens to ensure the inside of your RV is free of mosquitos and flies or remnants of leaves and loose bark from fallen tree branches. One screen is located behind the angled louvers and the other on the exterior vent opening - both remove easily for cleaning.

Installed on my Ford E350 Super Duty Van. Always nice & cool in the rear section now compared to the last vent I had up there. Great quality item! etrailer is great to deal with. Been using their items for years.

Very windy here right now so have not started install. Appears that the vent is going to be tight in the opening. The old top was torn off in the last wind even though it was closed at the time & the r v was parked. Will see how it goes tomorrow morning.

Review from a similar Mini in RV Vents and Fans
So far so good. It lets very little light through from outside, in the main living space I would like this, as I have kids who are still at the napping age. in the bathroom I don’t like it so much. Other than that it appears to be well made.
Installation was a pain, but no fault of this unit. The old butyl tape was a lot of work to get off the roof.

The RV Roof Vent looks great. I didn't install it, the person that did didn"t take long at all. He the one that told me about the fan. this the second one.

Just finished installing two of these vent units in a small travel trailer. The original arrangement did not include fans. These fan vents will reduce occurrence of smoke alarms while cooking. We sometimes camp without overnight shore power, so the fans will also be convenient for providing overnight ventilation without rigging temporary fans and being concerned with rain coming into the vent. The LED lights appear to be just the right amount of lighting. Also, the low profile for the control switch is a good arrangement because the ceiling height is only about 6 ft.

I am happy with this fan in my Ford Transit Connect. It is a standard height SWB Transit so I didn't feel I needed a more powerful fan. I like the built in light. I need this to fit in my garage so this fit the bill for a reasonable price. I will be running it off a portable power station and solar to charge the power bank. My van already had a popup vent installed so this should move some air through nicely. The installation after watching a few videos went smooth and took a few hours. I cut the roof hole, put down butyl tape and self leveling lap sealant. My roof is thinner so I did not need to use the middle extension piece. I did use my own 1" self taping screws. I would say I have moderate skills with tools and measuring. My electrical skills are minimal but I did not have any issues with this. Just put it in this morning so I haven't camped with it yet.

Easy to install. Has worked daily for the last year. Does not provide nearly the air flow of larger versions, but helps keep the stale air out. Excellent customer service from etrailer.

The package was delivered on time and looks great!
It was missing 2 screws but otherwise its great.
Also would be a good idea to send the required butyl tape and a small tube of caulking to make it a complete kit.

Review from a similar Mini in RV Vents and Fans
We rebuilt our pop-up camper top and decided to replace it with a fan instead of trying to salvage the existing unit. This product by etrailer was beyond a doubt the most cost efficient and quality product I found in all my searches. The product was easy to install and was even an upgrade from our original hand crank set up with a light as a bonus. It is adaptive to the various trailer thicknesses so it should be a fairly universal fit. I would recommend to anyone replacing their units.

Review from a similar Mini in RV Vents and Fans
I purchased from etrailer a Maxxair Mini RV Vent and Fan and after owning it for a year I’m still pleased with the reliability and quality of the system. The installation was so easy that even I could do it! My wife and I camp with the kids, their friends and other family members, so the fan gets a work out to say the least! I have already recommended etrailer and Maxxair to other campers so if you are asking me then go for it! I have experience with etrailer and their customer service is on point.

This fan is still working great and the surrounding light kit is futuristic. My old fan kit was dated so my wife was pleased to see the update! Thank you for the opportunity to offer my feedback and if it ever wears out I will surely be back!!!

this is the second one i have purchased. they are a bit expensive, so i didnt buy two. i was so happy with the first one i bought a second for my trailer where i store my scuba gear. The fan pulls the moisture out and the LED lights the interior. these units pull very little current. i have a garden tractor battery in my trailer with a solar charger, and this works great.

The max air functions nicely, but the interior plastic holding the actual fan is so thin it sags between the screws, leaving a poor appearance. I had previously purchased a MaxxAir fan with remote control and that interior piece did not sag. Also, the sealant I got with that order self-leveled very nicely.

To trim down the ceiling garnish of the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03750 the easiest solution would be to measure how much you plan to cut off, mark where the cut needs to be made with a marker or pencil, and then use a hand saw to make the cut. Since this is plastic a hand saw would be the simplest solution for someone with basic hand tools. If you had a sawz-all that would work too. view full answer...
While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail. This is the same reason why you shouldn't use this above a range cooking surface either.
If you like the idea of having a rain cover... view full answer...
Replacement screens are designed to fit specific models of trailer vents, and there isn't an option for one with similar dimensions to yours. Since the company went out of business and there aren't going to be replacements, the only recommendation I can offer is a new vent.
It sounds like you have the standard 14" x 14" roof vent (technically it is 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" though), and a thin roof based on the garnish dimensions. So for that the best option is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent,... view full answer...
Most available roof vents will not fit a roof that thick, but the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent, # MA00-03700 will. This fits roofs 1" to 4-1/2" thick with an opening size of 14" wide x 14" long. The rain shield allows you to open the vent in any weather with no additional vent cover needed. It has a manual lever to easily slide to open and close the vent. Select # MA00-03750 for black option. view full answer...
There is not a replacement lid for a trailer vent that measures 13-3/8" by 13-1/8" so the only option I can give you is to replace your entire vent. The vent opening would need to be re-sized a bit to make it larger, but this will give you the standard sized, 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" roof vent.
You can do this with the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - Non-Powered - Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700.

The MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 that you referenced is made out of a durable plastic that actually does a really good job against the sun.
If you wanted a total metal vent then you could use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 which is also a manually operated vent. The thing about this kit though is that it will keep out bugs and debris when left open but not rain. To keep it open while it is raining you would need to use a cover like the MaxxAir Standard... view full answer...
The Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" - Metal Item # V2110SP-24 requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" roof opening and a roof that is 1-7/8" to 3" thick. 35.5cm comes out to 13.97 inches so you would need cut the opening another 1/4" wider to fit this unit.
If you don't want to cut that much out of your roof you can instead install the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - Black Item # MA00-03750. It only requires a 14" x 14" opening and fits roofs 1" to 4-1/2"... view full answer...
You can absolutely install a roof vent in you roof that is 1-3/4 inches thick; all you need is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent, which fits roofs that are between 1 inch and 4-1/2 inches thick. You can choose from either white or black in color.

RV roof vents are typically all 14" x 14" and require a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" hole to install. Manufacturers have started prepping enclosed trailers with frame work to support a vent installation but I can't confirm whether or not your Gladiator Cargo Trailer will have this already.
If you don't already have frame work giving you a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" space for the vent then you'll need to mark one out on the ceiling and cut into it and will most likely need build some frame work to support... view full answer...
Normally I would say you would probably get by with 1 but since you'll be in a hotter climate in Florida I'd say go ahead and install 2 if you're planning on keeping them open during storage. If you're hesitant, you can always start off with 1 vent and then add another if you feel that it's needed.
I'm assuming that you aren't looking for a powered vent. If that's the case then I highly recommend going with the MaxxAir Mini which comes in Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700. The reason... view full answer...
The # HMAV2-AVT2 vent you had looked at is really intended to be mounted to the sidewall of a structure rather than the roof. It's fairly low profile, so it could work in that application, but while the vehicle is standing still, there's a good possibility that you could get some water infiltration during a downpour.
Something like the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent, part # MA00-03750 would be a better choice. The vent includes a rain shield that prevents rain from entering as well as... view full answer...
