Rain Shield with Angled Louvers

Rain Shield w/Angled Louvers

Open your RV roof vent any time and in any weather. This one-of-a-kind rain shield fully surrounds and encloses the vent opening, so you never have to worry about pesky rainwater seeping in and damaging the interior of your RV. Its integrated angled louvers let odors, stale air, and moisture escape while allowing rainwater to run off. This solid design saves you time and money since there's no need to purchase and install a separate vent cover.

Not only does this roof vent defeat rainwater, but it protects against bugs and debris too. The vent has 2 different screens to ensure the inside of your RV is free of mosquitos and flies or remnants of leaves and loose bark from fallen tree branches. One screen is located behind the angled louvers and the other on the exterior vent opening - both remove easily for cleaning.

I bought this vent to fill the hole left after the AC delete on my old RPOD. I'm not noticing a lot of air movement, as this is a non-powered / no fan vent. But most importantly.. I'm not getting any water coming in and I no longer have about 100 pounds of useless AC creating drag when I tow.

Simple install looks and works great!

Installed on my Ford E350 Super Duty Van. Always nice & cool in the rear section now compared to the last vent I had up there. Great quality item! etrailer is great to deal with. Been using their items for years.

Simple solution for adding passive ventilation in my van. eTrailer.com is always easy to work with!

Build quality is excellent but I am disappointed with the amount of air flow this unit allows. I am using it for replacement air in conjunction with a powered fan, but it does not allow enough air to come in. My Maxxair Deluxe fan struggles to evacuate air unless I open an additional window.

by:

Installed new vents. No issues so far.

by:

They have been great. They took about an hour each to install. I do miss the amount of airflow that came from the other ones, but these are darker, and and allow for airflow and dark at the same time which is great for the bedroom.

I do kind of wish I got some with fans that could be pull air flow through the RV. but they are great, and the price was excellent.

by:

great buy for what it is.

by:

Hardware that was provided was not long

by:

Very windy here right now so have not started install. Appears that the vent is going to be tight in the opening. The old top was torn off in the last wind even though it was closed at the time & the r v was parked. Will see how it goes tomorrow morning.

by:

I like these much better than the larger ones.

  • Replacement Manual Vent for 1997 Sunnybrook With Roof That Is Greater Than 4" Thick
Most available roof vents will not fit a roof that thick, but the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent, # MA00-03700 will. This fits roofs 1" to 4-1/2" thick with an opening size of 14" wide x 14" long. The rain shield allows you to open the vent in any weather with no additional vent cover needed. It has a manual lever to easily slide to open and close the vent. Select # MA00-03750 for black option.

  • Is Installing 2 Vents on a 12' Enclosed Trailer Overkill in Florida
Hey CJ, thanks for reaching out! For standard manual vents you will be perfectly fine adding 2 of them on your enclosed trailer, and it will definitely be worth it down in Florida. If you were looking at a powered option with a fan I would say more than one is overkill, but that's not the case when these aren't powered. Cutting two 14" x 14" holes won't be detrimental to the integrity of the roof, but you'll likely need to install some bracing inside for everything to fit and be secured...

  • Availability Of a Roof Vent With Metal Lid Which Fits a 14" x 14" Rough Opening
The Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 is currently the only vent we carry with a metal lid. This vent is designed to fit a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" rough opening. If this will not fit your opening we do have the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent # MA00-03750 for a 14" x 14" rough opening. While this does not have a metal lid it does have a thicker lid construction which is stronger than a typical roof vent lid.

  • Roof Vent Recommendation for 20 foot Car Hauler Trailer
Normally I would say you would probably get by with 1 but since you'll be in a hotter climate in Florida I'd say go ahead and install 2 if you're planning on keeping them open during storage. If you're hesitant, you can always start off with 1 vent and then add another if you feel that it's needed. I'm assuming that you aren't looking for a powered vent. If that's the case then I highly recommend going with the MaxxAir Mini which comes in Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700. The reason...

  • Why Cant MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan be Installed Above Tub/Shower
While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail. This is the same reason why you shouldn't use this above a range cooking surface either. If you like the idea of having a rain cover...

  • Why Are Some Roof Vents Listed As Not For Use Above Showers
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-06200K has a 12v fan in it so it's not recommended for use above a shower because there's a risk of water damaging the vent. If the vent hole is in the bathroom but not over the shower you'll be able to use this vent. If the vent hole is above the shower you just need a non-powered vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - White # MA00-03700 or # MA00-03750 for Black. These vents have a rain shield cover which allows...

You can absolutely install a roof vent in you roof that is 1-3/4 inches thick; all you need is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent, which fits roofs that are between 1 inch and 4-1/2 inches thick. You can choose from either white or black in color. - Black: MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03750 - White: MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 This vent comes with the flange, sleeve, and hardware for installation, with the only other thing you'll need being sealant, and for that...

  • Recommended Powered And Non-Powered RV Roof Vents With The Same Lids
There isn't a standard non-powered MaxxAir RV vent to match the standard powered version so if you want to have matching vent lids then I recommend going the MaxxAir Mini and Mini Plus models: White: Non-Powered # MA00-03700 Powered # MA00-03801 Black: Non-Powered # MA00-03750 Powered # MA00-03851 These vents all use the same exact design and Rain Shield lid so that you'll have protection from inclement weather and can also use the vents while traveling. • Best RV Roof Vent For An Enclosed Trailer Used For Lawncare
We have a couple of options designed to meet these needs specifically with MaxxAir's line of RV vents. The first option being the MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - LED Light - White # MA00-03801 (black # MA00-03851). This style vent has no lift to it but does come with an LED light ring, which could be useful in your trailer when the sun goes down. This vent can fit a roof thickness of 1" to 4-1/2" thick. The next option would be the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan...

  • Replacement Vent For Trailer With no Replacement Lid Available
There is not a replacement lid for a trailer vent that measures 13-3/8" by 13-1/8" so the only option I can give you is to replace your entire vent. The vent opening would need to be re-sized a bit to make it larger, but this will give you the standard sized, 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" roof vent. You can do this with the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - Non-Powered - Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700. These vents fit roofs 1" to 4-1/2" thick and come with the mounting hardware, so the...

  • Is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 Plastic or Metal
The MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 that you referenced is made out of a durable plastic that actually does a really good job against the sun. If you wanted a total metal vent then you could use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 which is also a manually operated vent. The thing about this kit though is that it will keep out bugs and debris when left open but not rain. To keep it open while it is raining you would need to use a cover like the MaxxAir Standard...

  • Trailer Roof Vent Replacement For Thin Roof
Replacement screens are designed to fit specific models of trailer vents, and there isn't an option for one with similar dimensions to yours. Since the company went out of business and there aren't going to be replacements, the only recommendation I can offer is a new vent. It sounds like you have the standard 14" x 14" roof vent (technically it is 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" though), and a thin roof based on the garnish dimensions. So for that the best option is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent,...

  • Determining The Correct Roof Vent For A Gladiator Cargo Trailer
RV roof vents are typically all 14" x 14" and require a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" hole to install. Manufacturers have started prepping enclosed trailers with frame work to support a vent installation but I can't confirm whether or not your Gladiator Cargo Trailer will have this already. If you don't already have frame work giving you a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" space for the vent then you'll need to mark one out on the ceiling and cut into it and will most likely need build some frame work to support...

  • Trimming Down Garnish of MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03750
To trim down the ceiling garnish of the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03750 the easiest solution would be to measure how much you plan to cut off, mark where the cut needs to be made with a marker or pencil, and then use a hand saw to make the cut. Since this is plastic a hand saw would be the simplest solution for someone with basic hand tools. If you had a sawz-all that would work too.

The MaxxAir Mini Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-03851 can be used as a bathroom fan but not over the shower as you'll be mixing electricity and water. If you would like an exhaust vent over the shower then you would want the non-powered model # MA00-03750. I attached a review video for more info on this for you to check out as well.

For the vent above the shower you won't be able to use a powered vent since water and electricity don't mix well but for an upgrade I recommend the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - Non-Powered - Black # MA00-03750 or # MA00-03700 for White. These vents have a rain shield cover which allows them to be used in any weather and while driving, unlike regular RV vents. The Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" - Metal Item # V2110SP-24 requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" roof opening and a roof that is 1-7/8" to 3" thick. 35.5cm comes out to 13.97 inches so you would need cut the opening another 1/4" wider to fit this unit. If you don't want to cut that much out of your roof you can instead install the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - Black Item # MA00-03750. • Recommended Roof Vent for Package Delivery Van
The # HMAV2-AVT2 vent you had looked at is really intended to be mounted to the sidewall of a structure rather than the roof. It's fairly low profile, so it could work in that application, but while the vehicle is standing still, there's a good possibility that you could get some water infiltration during a downpour. Something like the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent, part # MA00-03750 would be a better choice. The vent includes a rain shield that prevents rain from entering as well as...
