Note: Not for use above tubs, showers, or range cooking surfaces.
The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.
The white dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.
The 12-volt, variable-speed fan has 2 modes of operation: manual and auto. When the fan is in manual mode, you can choose from 10 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed. Auto mode works in conjunction with the fan's thermostat.
To enter auto mode, press the auto mode button on the keypad. Once the fan is in auto mode, the thermostat is activated with a set temperature of 78 degrees F. Pressing the arrow keys on the keypad changes the set temperature in 1 degree increments. When the thermostat is set, it senses the room temperature and automatically turns the fan on if it is above the set temperature. The fan shuts off when the set temperature has been reached. If the room temperature rises, the fan turns on again. This keeps your RV cool and comfortable and saves you from having to adjust the fan by hand. The auto mode also saves energy by running the fan no more than necessary, especially while you're away or asleep.
This fan is reversible, which means you are able to both exhaust stale air out of your RV and bring fresh air in from the outside. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.
The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.
The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to control the fan speed, the direction of the airflow, and the set temperature for the thermostat.
The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, and it is translucent so that some natural light can shine through. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.
Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.
And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.
This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.
The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.
To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

Ceiling fan mode circulates air when vent is closed.I have two of these installed in our stepvan - they were one of the first things we installed during the build process, and thank goodness we did because they kept us cooler during the summer build. Easy to use, the multiple-fan settings are nice, and the exhaust feature can pull a lot of air. We don't have AC, so these fans make a huge difference in pulling out hot air and replacing with outside air. Great service from etrailer - I ordered the wrong fan the first time and they were great to work with in getting another shipped out to me.
These are awesome! They can be used whether it is raining or not, no middle of the night scramble to shut all the vents. Since install we rarely run the AC. We have 2 installed, with a 3rd vent being the brand "fantastic fan" (it was our 1st one installed). Wish we would have known about these before listening to the dealer and wasting our time and money on the 1st install--all would be the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent!
It's a fabulous fan! Love it! It is quiet and I love that it is reversable - able to blow air in or out, and it has several speeds. I'm a little concerned about the touch screen power pad failing at some point, but that is because my experience with electronic touch pads is that they wear out pretty quickly, especially compared to switches or knobs. We will see, I guess.
Installed this 15 months ago, worked pretty well, bearings make some noise, and fan has slight wobble, but worse-off, just this week began to turn on by itself, and via the control panel would sometimes turn off when I pressed the power button, but most buttons just don't do anything when pressed. I had to disconnect the power, then re-connect, and, at first, it would be okay, but now it just stays on at a high speed when connected to power and unable to change anything on it, power, speed, direction.
>
> Now it just turns on when I connect power, and none of the control panel buttons do anything.
>
> It is connected to 12 V system 2 100 ah lithium batteries to buss bar and fuse box.
>What a shame at over $200 you would think this would last at least 3-5 years.
But, I suppose these days of cheap manufacturing and execs making more top dollar, well, we consumers pay the price.

Luckily there is a 2 year warranty on the vent assembly, and a limited lifetime warranty on the dome. Airxcel does prefer to handle all of their own warranty cases. I will send you their information via email. Now, I have gotten in contact with Airxcel and they said depending on the serial number of the fan, it could have an old circuit board that didn't handle lithium batteries very well, which would be if the first 4 numbers begin with 21XX. Now, if the serial number begins with 22-23XX the fan will have the updated circuit board to handle the battery system.
Purchased this hitch bc it was confirmed it would bolt on my 2002 E-150 with no drilling, it's more hitch than I need for a bike rack (I've seen other reviews mention this) but it indeed installed easily and came with everything necessary. We didn't even need to move the canister, it was not too close to the bolting location on the frame. We watched the 2003 Ford van install video and it gave us all the info needed. Really happy with this purchase and etrailer for having all the info we needed available and answering questions promptly!
This fan is exactly what I needed. Easy to install, works as advertised and moves a lot of air. I love the built-in rain deflector that can raise and lower

Hello Rob, I'm happy to hear this met your expectations as well as installed easily for you and I agree, the rain deflector is a cool, convenient feature.
My trailer came with one MaxxFan and a simple roof vent where AC could be installed. Really like the MaxxFan because it can be open even in the rain so I installed a second one by removing the cheese vent that you can't leave open. I have lithium batteries and I've never had a problem with the MaxxFan that cam with my trailer. Checked the voltage on the wires in the vent opening and it was 14.2. Connected the new MaxxFan and it ran for several hours without any problems so I think the Lithium battery problem has been solved, no buck booster needed to reduce voltage. I did spray conformal coating on the control board since dampness has continued to cause problems.
I can't say enough about etrailer, my shipment was early, the price was very competitive and the product works great. I would caution anyone installing this fan to also use a DC to DC 12 volt converter to keep the volts to 12 volt and the amps to 5a. If you exceed this my a small amount the circuit board will burn out.....

The Max Air I purchased from trailer is working great after the first year, I would caution people these fans are volt sensitive do I would recommend including a buck converter to the instillation of this product to maintain 12 stay volts insuring longevity of the fan.
Etrailer is always a pleasure to work with. Knowledgeable and quick shipping. I will definately continue to use them.
As for the product, arrived quickly and in good shape. Product appears to be as described. I pick my trailer up in a week so will then install the fan.
Great product. I especially like the thermostatic setting. I feel that for something like this fan, a remote control is just not practical. Too easy to lose and if the trailer doesn't get used for the entire Winter, it's a good possibility that the batteries in it will die and leak.
We really like this MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent model 05100K. The rain vent works as advertised, the 10-speed fan can either bring fresh air into the camper, or reversed can exhaust air from the camper. The construction quality is great. It is installed on our RV.
Buy with confidence!

Still very happy with the product!
My backyard Tuff Shed workshop has a turbine vent fan, which really doesn't work all that well. Over the years I've tried various powered fans, but have never been satisfied with the results. Now that it needs a roof, I was thinking about a solar roof fan. Since I have a 400 watt, 12 volt solar system for security lighting, I realized I could use a fan similar to the one in my RV. The installation was very easy, and the quality of the fan is excellent. Not having to worry about closing the lid for rain is great, and the automatic thermostat is a wonderful set and forget feature. I'm especially impressed how quiet it is.
So far so good. Install is straight forward once I fished power from near by light. Seems like a very nice unit and much better than the fantastic fan used in other rvs.
These fans are the bomb. I now own three one with a remote control so I don't have to crawl up onto my bed to run it. Works well solid units you won't regret buying one.
We love that it's super quiet on lower settings, yet can move a lot of air on high when needed.
It was disappointing to have the control board go bad after only a few months. It started sounding an error tone along with the "green light of death" and then quitting. The manufacturer was good about sending a replacement board right away.
A word of caution about rain. The downward facing design of the vent works fine - up to a point. In light rain there's no problem, but in a heavy downpour rain can splash off the roof surface and bounce back up inside resulting in a light mist of water entering. If we expect rain we close the vent or leave it open just an inch or two.
Excellent fan, exactly what I needed. Easy install. I like that I can lock it in any position.
Replaced existing vent, process went very smooth, same model used so no issues with fit. Replaceing MaxxFan that lasted 5 years with heavy use. Hope this one holds up for 5 years.
I've had this for 2 years with no trouble. It's performed as expected. I did use a regulated 12v power supply to avoid the problems some have had related to voltage spikes affecting the mother board.
Extremely happy with my purchase. Haven’t used the fan much but it’s strong and quiet, along with straight forward installation. I will definitely be purchasing from etrailer in the future as they not only had the best price (yes, even better than Amazon) but their customer service is above and beyond. The shipping is brilliantly quick as well. Highly recommend.
eTrailer and their staff are awesome! I have ordered numerous items from them, and they have met and exceeded my expectations in all areas. I am a customer for life!
We consistently use this vent fan model in our conversions at STRAY wheel estate collective, located in Greenville SC. It's a high quality product that provides longevity at a good price. Our experience with etrailer was quick & painless, they were prompt with information about the purchase & delivery timeline, all products arrived in a very timely fashion. We will continue to use them as a supplier.
Maxxair fans are a great addition to our trailer. Very quiet and efficient. On low you can't hear them at all. Love being able to have fresh air at night.
These MaxxFan rv fans are superb! Installed when we rehabbed a decrepit RV, they have held up wonderfully. We got rid of the cooking vent, thus giving more space in the kitchen, and our MaxxFan nearest the kitchen is our vent. You can see pictures and even a video of the fans and remodel on our blog yippikiyo.com
etrailer is our #1 source for quality and price for our RV and other trailers.

Still loving the fans. Very easy to clean screens. They can move a lot of air.
A far superior product compared to the competitor's leaking vent that I replaced.
Major design flaw and suck-[y] company. Any battery charger, when in initial charge mode will push more than 14 volts. The control panel on this fan will only handle 13.8 volts, and will burn out. Maxxfan has known about this for years and has done several re-designs but refuse to fix this problem. They like selling new control panels at $xx a pop. Once you install their flange on your roof you're kinda stuck with them. Solution is found on Ford E350 forum. Buy a small voltage regulator and wire it into the fan. If you can't do this yourself this fan is not worth buying. Shame on you Maxxfan!

One year later and 15k miles of travel across the country and both fans are working great!
