Built-In Rain Shield

MaxxFan Deluxe Rain Shield

The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or camper. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.

The smoke dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Reversible, Variable-Speed Fan with Thermostat

MaxxFan Deluxe Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan has 2 modes of operation: manual and auto. When the fan is in manual mode, you can choose from 10 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed. Auto mode works in conjunction with the fan's thermostat.

To enter auto mode, press the auto mode button on either the remote control or keypad. Once the fan is in auto mode, the thermostat is activated with a set temperature of 78 degrees F. Pressing the arrow keys on either the remote or keypad changes the set temperature in 1 degree increments. When the thermostat is set, it senses the room temperature and automatically turns the fan on if it is above the set temperature. The fan shuts off when the set temperature has been reached. If the room temperature rises, the fan turns on again. This keeps your RV cool and comfortable and saves you from having to adjust the fan by hand. The auto mode also saves energy by running the fan no more than necessary, especially while you're away or asleep.

This fan is reversible, which means you are able to both exhaust stale air out of your RV and bring fresh air in from the outside. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Remote Control and Keypad

Remote for MaxxFan Plus

The remote control has a built-in LCD screen so that it's easy to see the current settings. The remote enables you to operate the vent and fan from afar, including opening or closing the dome and turning the fan on or off. With the remote, you can also control the fan speed, the direction of the airflow, and the set temperature for the thermostat.

The remote comes with a cradle, which mounts to the wall. When it's not in use, the remote can be stored in the cradle. Hardware and 2 AAA batteries are included. The low-battery indicator located on the top-center area of the screen lets you know when it's time to change the batteries.

Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe

Like the remote control, the flush-mounted keypad on the vent allows you to operate the vent, the fan, and the thermostat.

Powered-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Deluxe Open

This powered-lift vent opens and closes automatically, which means no hand cranking is needed. And unlike a vent that has only 1 arm, this dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will stay open during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome if your RV loses power.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Deluxe Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

Still working great game changer for moving air

Initially I was real apprehensive about getting this fan installed on my 16’ Casita. Not because I didn’t want the fan, believe me I did. The specifications alone were impressive, but the ability to run it like a ceiling fan, with the vent closed was hands down the most impressive feature. Something my little Dachshund Cinnamon would surely attest to. The front mounted ac unit in the 16’ Casita benifits greatly from this fan, it circulates the air better, cools things quicker and, helps maintain the temperature better. There is little information about putting this on a Casita, much less a 16’ one, but I’m happy with my decision to do so. This fan is awesome, and Etrailer was very helpful with information on my purchase. Another note was that I’m happy Terry my installer did this project, the factory installed Fan was riveted in from the top, and removing it wouldn’t have been a typical by the book procedure. Thanks George J. I’m one happy camper, and that’s without mentioning the remote control, air flow on low settings, great price, fast delivery, or quietness of the product.
Sincerely,

Still going strong. I can’t say enough positive things about this fan. It’s hard to imagine life without it. The air flow created by using this fan with a cracked window is impressive, and that’s without placing it on the highest setting, something I rarely do unless it’s to cool things off while away.

This is an outstanding fan vent. It is easy to install and works fantastic. The remote allows you to easily control the vent. We installed 2 of these fans in the RV and the remote design allows you to control only the fan you intend to control. The vent can be opened in rain and when closed it is very sleek on the roof. This is my favorite vent.

by:

I purchased 2 of these fans to replace the old fan in our RV. Absolutely love these fans and the features; keeps out the rain open or closed, auto on at set temperature, in or out air flow, remote control, low profile design, and straight forward installation. If you are considering a fan replacement, I highly recommend this fan.

by:

I used this to replace the OEM cheap, junk fan in my trailer. It moves lots of air and is much quieter.

by:

I installed the Maxxfan Deluxe 7500 in place of my factory bathroom vent fan in my Winnebago View. This was a great upgrade as it now provides air circulation throughout my motorhome vs. just being a bathroom vent. The installation was easy as it fit in the same opening with just some slight trimming of interior trim due to the wider interior bezel. The automatic temperature option as well as the ability to control the unit with a remote control makes it very easy to use.

by:

I was looking to replace the ceiling vent in our fifth wheel with an electric fan with remote, so I wouldn’t have to use a step stool to open and close the vent. Since the stock vent had no electrical running to it, I had to find a 12v source near it that was not on a switched circuit and that could handle the amperage draw. I had a light above the sink and decided to pull out the microwave to see if 12v wires ran behind it. I was fortunate enough to find 12v wires running through the microwave cabinet, so I used a steel fish tape and ran my Wires through the ceiling to the top cabinet and down through to the microwave cabinet and spiced the new wires to the existing 12v wires. I really thought this install was going to be a lot harder, but it was really easy and took less than two hours. I can only give the fan four stars, because fan really hasn’t been used much yet, but so far I really like it.

by:

Top notch fan. Did a new install on a Sprinter van in a couple hours. I'm glad I paid the extra $100 or so for auto opening, etc. The opener makes quite a racket, but other than that it works great. Very satisfied.

by:

We dry camp mostly and AC will not run off of solar power. The Max Fan Vent will help move air in or out of the camper. I also have a small space heater that runs on our propane. The ceiling fan feature will be a nice way to maximize the effects of the heater. The furnace is fine when it is freezing out but uses much propane. The little heater is just fine for those cool evenings and chilly mornings. The Max Fan will make it even better.

This is the second install of a MaxxFan for me. The one pictured was done earlier this year in my daughters Transit Connect. What a great little fan! It was a challenge getting this fan to fit along with 200 watts of solar panels. In the end, I couldn't be happier with the results. It looks and functions perfectly! Finishing it off inside with the headliner in place was also challenging, but it looks terrific inside and out.
She's currently living the vanlife somewhere out west. I hear all the time how great the fan works in keeping the temperature comfortable. The best feature of this fan compared to it's competitor, is that you don't need to worry about leaving it open during foul weather, or driving down the highway with it open, for that matter. With "brand-X" you better close it during rain, and make sure its closed while driving.

Because I was so impressed how her fan installed, works, and looks, it was a no brainer getting another one for my current van build, (a 2015 full size Transit Wagon.) This time I got the Deluxe version with remote control.

One more thing. DO GET THE ADAPTER !!! Look on eBay, you'll find it. It makes life so easy installing this fan, or even brand-X... He tells you to use Urethane Window Adhesive (From Napa) for the installation. We did on the first one, and it worked OK. I've used 3M 4200 Marine sealant on other stuff, and it's awesome. I will skip using the Urethane this next time, and use 4200 exclusively. If you use 3M 5200, its' also great stuff, but be advised, it will not come off of anything without being cut, or ground off. The 4200 can be removed with acetone. Also, DO use the GE Sealant they talk about here, great stuff. And, the DICOR self-leveling sealant is great stuff as well.
Shipping was quick and on time! Bridgette with eTrailer is awesome! Thanks Bridgette. Price can't be beat.
Good luck to all on your Van builds.

@George That's great! Thanks for the positive feedback!

After a year a small amount of stickiness to open after sitting closed for a several months. Very quiet and for a small Sprinter camper it works as designed. I seldom run it at full power which is about 45 watts. Usually about 20% which only uses about 12 watts. Nice to have the multiple settings. In a small van like this I probably could have gotten by with the manual only model. But the remote has temperatures on its display so that is nice to have. All in all a well made product.

Bought two for my Promaster camper conversion and they work great

by:

Excellent fan. Fast shipping from etrailer. I ordered this to replace the same manufacturer’s 6” round fan on a pickup truck cap camper build (required cutting a larger hole). This one is extremely quiet and moves air very well. I was hesitant to cut such a large hole in my Leer 180 fiberglass cap but so far so good. My mounting surface is around 3/4” thick (less than the recommended min 1 1/8”) but was able to mount without issue. Just had to purchase 3/4” SS screws to avoid going completely through both fiberglass layers. Based on other reviews, I used a silicone conformal spray to protect the circuit board from moisture prior to installing

by:

First I ordered the wrong part(my error) and Ms Ana S not only got my order straightened out, but also set me up with the correct part that was on back order needed to repair an older MaxxAir fan. At the same time I had decided to order another MaxxAir fan to install in another room of our rv. This MaxxAir fan is every bit as nice as the first one we have. The part that broke eventually came in ahead of schedule and I received it, thanks to excellent customer support from Ana the part was exactly what I needed and my fan has performed perfectly ever since. My wife and I have simply been amazed of the service we have received from Etrailer and especially Ana. I would not hesitate to use the services provided by Etrailer in the future. Customer service like it use to be A+

Still going strong, we just got home from a trip to Myrtle Beach and used MaxxAir fans continually over our one month stay. The repaired fan worked effortlessly with no issues. Love the autofeature for temperature control and how quietly it operates too.

@SS We're happy to hear that, thanks!

by:

Very disappointed with the air flow, was expecting much more draw in a smaller Class C.
Nice that you can run the fan during rain , but NOT worth the cost.

by:

I love it! My RV did not have a powered vent except in the head and the MaxxFan really helps improve the ventilation in the RV.

by:

Designed and manufactured well. Functions well. But the lifespan could be greatly enhanced if all the electronics were clear coated to prevent moisture from decaying boards and electronics. This is my 2nd unit. I took it on myself to coat everything with acrylic to prevent corrosion and moisture exposure.

by:

Great company. I will order from this company anytime (rather than the big box company that I won’t mention). They are genuinely a pleasure to talk (place your order with) and you receive your products in record breaking time. Their customer service is above any other company that I order from.

This fan is amazing. I was a bit scared to tackle this project so I procrastinated a few months and actually it was very straightforward instructions and a breeze to pit in. What a difference this fan makes in the bedroom area!! I highly recommend putting one in …. And of course order from trailer !

by:

Kyle helped me select the best fan for my needs, gave me some hints for a good install and then offered to help me with tech support, including his number, if I ran into any trouble.

It’s great. I’ve used it often while on shore power and boondocking. It’s quiet and haven’t had any trouble with rain.

by:

We haven’t installed them yet, but anticipate they will be strait forward to instal & as always, superior customer service from eTrailer!

by:

Fast delivery. I had it installed within an hour as it was a replacement and I could skip some steps.

by:

I love the way it looks but when I have raised and lowered it binds up on the right side. There is a plastic tab on the right side that sticks out far enough to cause the up and down movement to be stuck. It’s for that reason that I’ll either leave the vent open or closed a longtime. I’ll only raise and lower the vent manually because by remote I feel I’ll burn the motor out.

Otherwise I know this is better than the average vent on the market.

by:

I am still happy with the 7500K fan a year later. Installation was straightforward - removing the existing vent (and cleaning off the caulk) was the hardest part. I like the way the unit attaches to the mounting ring, so it can be easily removed if needed. I did not have a problem aligning the screw holes as another reviewer encountered. The fan is in the bath above the shower and we run it on low to remove the humidity when showering. I mounted the remote control on the wall where it has a direct line-of-sight path to the fan, so we don't ever need to take the remote out of the wall cradle. One problem with the fan is that when it is off it still has a current draw of about 20 ma (per the factory). My travel trailer does not have a battery disconnect, so that 20 ma draw is enough to discharge the battery over many months in storage. To correct this, I installed a toggle switch on the fan (see photo) which I can use to totally power down the unit. A second complaint I have relates to "auto mode" where the fan shuts off at a preset temperature. I planned to use this at night, to have the fan cool off my RV until it reaches a nice temperature, and then shut off. Problem is that when the temperature is reached, not only does the fan shut off, but the lid automatically closes. The lid closing is noisy enough to wake us up. As a result, I find auto mode to be pretty useless. But overall, the fan is quiet, moves a good amount of air, and can be left open rain or shine (I leave it open in storage to get some air circulation). Finally, I made current draw measurements at each speed, which some folks might find useful: OFF ~10 mA, 1 ~100 mA, 2 ~150 mA, 3 ~230 mA, 4 ~350 mA, 5 ~500 mA, 6 ~700 mA, 7 ~950 mA, 8 ~1.30 A, 9 ~1.6 A, 10 ~2.4 A.

by:

Would be a great fan but it only worked for about 2 hours. This fan has a known voltage issue that causes the fan to shut back off within a minute accompanied by a beeping sound. MaxxAir support was helpful and sent me a new fan motor but be prepared to be your own service tech. Maybe in the spring I will have time to install the fan motor?

You are right that the # MA00-06200K and the # MA00-07500K are very similar vent fans as far as most of the internal components. The main difference is that the 7500K uses a remote and has a powered lift. The 6200K is manual control and manual lift. Other than those features they are effectively the same. • Troubleshooting A MaxxFan Deluxe That The Fan Won't Turn Off
It sounds like the circuit board for your MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote - Powered Lift - 10 Speed # MA00-07500K is the issue. I recommend replacing your circuit board with the Replacement Printed Circuit Board for MaxxAir Manual Lift RV Roof Vents # MA10A21276K.

  • Roof Vent with 110V-AC Powered Fan for 6 x 12-Foot Diamond Cargo Trailer
Most square trailer roof vents are a common size, 14 x 14, and they require a roof opening of 14-1/4 x 14-1/4-inches. If your vent measures this approximate size then you can safely presume you have one of these standard-size roof vents. We do offer a 110V-AC powered fan in this size that is shown on the linked page, part # V2128SP-01 from Ventline. This vent features a manual-lift lid, on/off switch, insect screen and it also includes an internal trim piece (the garnish) for a clean installed...

  • Replacement Fan For MaxxAir MaxxFan 4700CN With Obsolete Control Board and Keypad
It appears you are going to have to replace your MaxxFan 4700CN as those parts appear to be obsolete. I recommend upgrading to the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K. I prefer this vent as it has a built in rain shield so you can still run the fan without a cover in the rain. The included remote also allows you to set the fan to automatically turn on when a certain temperature is reached. The installation Kit # 344270KITW will provide you with everything you need to seal it to your roof.

  • Is There a Replacement Remote For a Fantastic Vent Fan Model FV7300?
The remote for your FV7300 roof vent is obsolete. You are going to need to either find a used remote that works or replace the vent assembly. I recommend looking at the MaxxFan Deluxe # MA00-07500K as it can easily be controlled from a wireless remote. It also has a built in rain shield so you can run the fan in the rain.

  • Will The Replacement Keypad For MaxxFan Deluxe Work With The MaxxFan Plus?
Yes, the Replacement Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA10-21304K will work with your MaxxFan Plus # MA99FR since the MaxxFan # MA00-07500K & # MA00-07000K use the same circuit board # MA10A21275K.

  • Amp Power Requirements for Vent Motors
The 12V power requirements for trailer vents and fans will vary so you might want to check the main sticker for your fan or look at the sticker on the motor itself to find the unit's power draw. As an example, the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K draws 5-amps of current from its 12V supply. A great many vent fan motors will draw this or less power and so certainly some will function with your 8-amp supply. Naturally a vent with multiple speed options will draw less power at lower...

  • Recommended MaxxAir MaxxFan For An R-Vision Trail-Lite Class B Motorhome
It's super common for a powered roof vent to be installed in a Class B motorhome, and since you already have a 14" x 14" hole and power wire nearby the installation should be pretty simple. A vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K would be the perfect option for your motorhome since it comes with a rain shield cover, which can be used while driving or during inclement weather, unlike standard RV roof vents. You could still keep the light if you wanted to but would...

  • Installing MaxxFan Deluxe 12V Roof Vent in Bathroom
If you won't be installing the fan directly above the shower then you can use the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K. The reason we have this restriction is simply because of it's powered nature. The moisture that could sneak into the assembly when mounted directly above a shower, tub, or range cooking surface could potentially mess with the electrical components but this won't be an issue if it's off to the side like what you described. This is a really nice option that features...
