Designed to work with high-powered roof vents, the FanMate cover offers superior rain protection so that the vent can be opened and the fan can be operated in any weather. The FanMate has a wide vent area that maximizes airflow, preventing heat from building up inside your RV or trailer. EZClip pins make it simple to open or remove the cover for roof vent maintenance. And no drilling is required to install the cover over a MaxxFan or MaxxFan Plus vent.
This FanMate cover is designed to work with any roof vent that has a high-powered, high-speed fan, including MaxxFan Plus vents and certain MaxxFan Deluxe, Fan-Tastic Vent, and Shurflow vents. The FanMate is also taller than other MaxxAir vent covers so that it can provide increased lid clearance, which allows you to open the dome of your roof vent more.
The wide, louvered vent area at the back of the FanMate means that the cover provides more airflow in and out of your RV or trailer than standard covers. The angled louvers allow smoke, odors, and stale air to escape while keeping rain and debris out.
This FanMate vent cover comes with 4 EZClip pins. These pins enable you to easily open or remove the cover. When the pins are removed from one side, the opposite side acts as a hinge, allowing you unobstructed access to your roof vent for cleaning and maintenance. To secure the cover closed, slide the pins back into the cover and push them up to lock them in place.
The FanMate vent cover is specifically designed for installation on newer-model MaxxFan and MaxxFan Plus roof vents. No drilling or tools are required. The integrated mounting brackets on the FanMate perfectly align with the mounting tabs that are molded onto the flange of the roof vent. To install, fit the cover over the roof vent. Then slide the included EZClip pins through the tabs and rotate them up to secure the cover in place.
If you are installing this cover over an older-model MaxxFan roof vent without mounting tabs, no drilling is required and all necessary hardware is included. The MaxxFan roof vent has pre-drilled holes in the side wall that are hidden under plastic plugs. Just remove the plugs and fasten the aluminum brackets to the side wall with the stainless steel screws. Then insert the EZClip pins through the brackets to secure the cover in place.
If you're installing this FanMate cover over any other roof vent, then drilling into the frame of the roof vent may be required. Stainless steel screws, nuts, and washers are included to install the cover. However, if you're installing the cover over a high-powered, high-speed ventilation fan, use the included self-tapping screws to mount the cover instead.
This vent cover is constructed of durable, high-density polyethylene. Special additives help ensure that the material can resist the negative effects of UV rays. And the cover is translucent so that some natural light can shine through.

No-drill installation on MaxxFan and MaxxFan Plus vents.I really like that this cover is extremely easy to install compared to the old style where you had to drill into the fan and fasten clips on to hold the cover. I had two issues; when ordering the etrailer experts did not know if this product would fit my fans. I called Maxxair and was given the information I needed. The holes in the covers where the clips mount were not drilled completely through. A small annoyance. The instructions for assembling the louvre to the cover body should have mentioned that you should start pushing the clips in from the two sides and then clip the center one.
eTrailer.com had the best price for this particular vent cover. They also delivered promptly, so my overall experience was great. Will consider eTrailer.com in the future for parts for my 2000 Coachmen Spirit of America 248TB travel trailer.

Vent was easy to install over my vent fan. Functions as intended and provides ample cover and allows ample airflow for my fan.

Had Fantastic Fan with rain-actuated auto-close lid, and it worked fine until the motor/gear drive assembly plastic mounts broke. Replacement system never mounted properly and didn't work, except manually.
On new RV, added Fantastic Fan with thermostat only and, to keep the rain out, added a Maxxair Fanmate vent cover. The pair of fan and vent cover fit well together when installing and the vent cover provides for efficient air flow according to many comments. Simple way to prevent 99% of rain from entering the RV. We love it.
Fanmate Roof Vent Cover was simple to clip onto the MaxxFan Roof Vent. I would rate this 5 stars if the bug screen was included from the manufacturer, but it is sold separately.

Cover is still in great shape after a year on top of our rig.
Easy installation and fit perfectly with the MAXXAIR FanMate RV Vents and Fan assy I also purchased from etrailer.com
So far so good. Too bad the insect screens I ordered don’t work. These seem to be of good quality. Installing tomorrow.

These are perfect. They installed very easy compared to an old off brand set we had previously installed on an old travel trailer. We are able to keep our vents open in any weather and they work with our Max Air fans perfectly.

This was a little hard to install, but we made it work for the power vent in our 5th wheel, great service on receiving this product.

the vent is great and is still on our fifth wheel
This product was almost twice the price of the next lesser version. I am glad I bought the more expensive one. The quality is better and installation took 10 minutes. Thank you etrailer!

The covers are working fine. My comments about having to call Maxxair and a little better install instruction still stand.
