Note: Some vents may not open fully when used with this vent cover. If opened 50% or more, the vent will still achieve maximum airflow.
The MaxxAir II has a vent area that is twice the size of the vent area on standard covers. This provides more airflow in and out of your RV or trailer, and the side vents provide cross-ventilation for even more airflow. The angled louvers allow smoke, heat, and odors to escape while keeping rain and debris out.
EZClip Pins Simplify Opening
This MaxxAir II vent cover comes with 4 EZClip pins. These pins enable you to easily open or remove the cover. When the pins are removed from one side, the opposite side acts as a hinge, allowing you unobstructed access to your roof vent for cleaning and maintenance. To secure the cover closed, slide the pins back into the cover and push them up to lock them in place.
Installation on 2015 or Newer MaxxFan or MaxxFan Plus Roof Vents
The MaxxAir II vent cover is specifically designed for installation on 2015 and newer-model MaxxFan and MaxxFan Plus roof vents - no drilling or tools are required. The integrated mounting brackets on the MaxxAir II perfectly align with the mounting tabs that are molded onto the flange of the roof vent. To install, fit the cover over the roof vent. Then slide the included EZClip pins through the tabs and rotate them up to secure the cover in place.
Installation on Older Model MaxxFan or MaxxFan Plus Roof Vents
If you're installing this cover over an older model MaxxFan or MaxxFan Plus roof vent without mounting tabs, no drilling is required, and all necessary hardware is included. The MaxxFan roof vent has pre-drilled holes in the side wall that are hidden under plastic plugs. Just remove the plugs and fasten the aluminum brackets to the side wall with stainless steel screws. Then insert the EZClip pins through the brackets to secure the cover in place.
Installation on All Other Standard Roof Vents
If you're installing this MaxxAir II cover over any other roof vent, then drilling into the frame of the roof vent is required to mount the aluminum brackets. Stainless steel screws, nuts, and washers are included to install the cover. However, if you're installing the cover over a high-powered, high-speed ventilation fan, use the included self-tapping screws to mount the cover instead.

Installed smoke color on all three vents of '22 GD Imagine 2600RB. Near perfect match to the factory AC cover. For this RV's factory vent frames (14"x14"), you do have to drill into each side of vent frame, but was no big deal. If placed correctly, the vent cover opens about 1/2-3/4 and clears the MaxxAir cover no problem. The only issue was that each vent cover included 4 bolts/nuts and 4 metal screws - each latch requires 2 fasteners, and there are 2 latches per side - that's a total of 8 fastens needed for the type of vent frame on this RV. I would have preferred to have a bolt/nut on all 8, but used a combination of the bolts and screws. If you're careful to no over-tighten the screws, they hold fine and can easily be replaced with bolts if they were to strip out. The fastener packaging did not appear to be damaged or as if parts were missed or lost in the box, was taped and stapled the same on all 3 as if it was supposed to be this way. ? For the expense of this very basic plastic cover, it should have 8 of each fastener type and the only reason for a star deduction; I don't think it's an etrailer issue, but not sure. Either way, was able to get all 3 installed in about an hour and they look and work great.

Fantastic design that clips right into place. No drilling or screws needed since it was a newer Maxxair roof vent fan. This Maxxair cover took longer to climb onto the roof than it did to just put the 4 clips into place. Also love the smoked color as it still lets light in.

One year later: they remain fantastic. With these covers: I leave my vents open all the time, allowing heat of the day to escape. I have Maxxair vents that auto-close if it rains. Definitely would buy again, I cant live without them anymore.

Love these things. We added to them to our new Airstream after having covers on our prior Airstream. We live in the rainy Pacific Northwest and so having these allow for us to keep the fans open unless it is really pouring. The Smoke also allows for some light to come. Of all things, we get asked about these by fellow Airstreamers when we're on the road.

So this cover is designed specifically to fit 2015 and newer MaxxFan and MaxxFan Plus roof vents with mounting tabs. If you have an older model or a Fan that is not MaxxFan, then its possible that this will not fit your application.

I bought 3 of these vent covers, only to find 1 odd-man-out would not fit. I returned that one, and bought the right cover, for vents with fans, and also received it quickly. Installation of all 3 was easier than I anticipated. The Smoke color allows some light to pass, making me and my spouse very pleased. All-in-all, works well, looks good.

I was told by two customer service representatives at etrailer that this vent cover had a bug screen; which I purchased (separately). It has NO BUG SCREEN -- so if you're looking for a vent cover with a bug screen (separate product) move on. I read ALL the e-trailer online Q&A and despite all the Q&A this fact is not clear. THERE IS NO BUG SCREEN FOR THE MAXXAIR II Hope this helps someone. etrailer did credit the price of the bug screen they told me to purchase - Thank you!
