Built-In Rain Shield

MaxxFan Deluxe Rain Shield

The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.

The white dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Reversible, Variable-Speed Fan with Thermostat

MaxxFan Deluxe Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan has 2 modes of operation: manual and auto. When the fan is in manual mode, you can choose from 10 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed. Auto mode works in conjunction with the fan's thermostat.

To enter auto mode, press the auto mode button on the keypad. Once the fan is in auto mode, the thermostat is activated with a set temperature of 78 degrees F. Pressing the arrow keys on the keypad changes the set temperature in 1 degree increments. When the thermostat is set, it senses the room temperature and automatically turns the fan on if it is above the set temperature. The fan shuts off when the set temperature has been reached. If the room temperature rises, the fan turns on again. This keeps your RV cool and comfortable and saves you from having to adjust the fan by hand. The auto mode also saves energy by running the fan no more than necessary, especially while you're away or asleep.

This fan is reversible, which means you are able to both exhaust stale air out of your RV and bring fresh air in from the outside. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Flush-Mounted Keypad

Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe

The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to control the fan speed, the direction of the airflow, and the set temperature for the thermostat.

Manual-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Deluxe Open

The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, and it is translucent so that some natural light can shine through. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.

Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Deluxe Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

I can't say enough about etrailer, my shipment was early, the price was very competitive and the product works great. I would caution anyone installing this fan to also use a DC to DC 12 volt converter to keep the volts to 12 volt and the amps to 5a. If you exceed this my a small amount the circuit board will burn out.....

- MA00-05100K

We installed this in our fifth wheel bedroom. Installation was easy in our case. It is very quiet, works well and has been reliable. A few things we've noted: 1.) We have three different models of MaxxFans in our trailer and each has an unnecessarily dissimilar interface, ex., to power off, on one unit you press the power button multiple times and on another, there is a separate power off button. Second ex. , to change fan speed, one model you press the power button multiple times, on another, there are high-low speed arrow buttons. Of course, this is only an issue because we have three different models in our trailer.; 2.) The "ceiling fan mode" where the fan reverses and sends air into the room is not particularly effective because the blade is so close to the vent cover and can't move any air. Despite those two small issues, we are very happy with our purchase and would buy again. Also note that the white vent cover BLOCKS more light than the black. We didn't realize that at purchase and there is no way to change the vent cover once installed.

- MA00-05100K

Installation was simple in existing AC hole in trailer. Works as described. Quiet in low speeds. Moves a lot of air on high. Overall a good buy. I will probably upgrade the bathroom vent with another one of these.

- MA00-05100K

Received product very fast and in perfect shape. the only done side was that we had to buy n adjustable voltage drop regulator in order to hook it up in our camper do to the fan very picky on voltage over 13 volts but other than that, when its was hooked up the fan is awesome. Just wish Maxxair ciuld of done it better with the voltage issue. Great product!!!

My backyard Tuff Shed workshop has a turbine vent fan, which really doesn't work all that well. Over the years I've tried various powered fans, but have never been satisfied with the results. Now that it needs a roof, I was thinking about a solar roof fan. Since I have a 400 watt, 12 volt solar system for security lighting, I realized I could use a fan similar to the one in my RV. The installation was very easy, and the quality of the fan is excellent. Not having to worry about closing the lid for rain is great, and the automatic thermostat is a wonderful set and forget feature. I'm especially impressed how quiet it is.

These MaxxFan rv fans are superb! Installed when we rehabbed a decrepit RV, they have held up wonderfully. We got rid of the cooking vent, thus giving more space in the kitchen, and our MaxxFan nearest the kitchen is our vent. You can see pictures and even a video of the fans and remodel on our blog yippikiyo.com etrailer is our #1 source for quality and price for our RV and other trailers.

Still loving the fans. Very easy to clean screens. They can move a lot of air.

Major improvement of air venting in my Dutch Star. Easy install as replacement for standard factory vent with small fan

- MA00-05100K

Product arrived in perfect condition (but it will be a few days before it is installed, so not giving it a full rating yet). However, I wanted to note how amazingly well etrailer kept me informed informed of the order-status for this back-ordered item. I appreciated knowing exactly what delivery schedule to expect.

- MA00-05100K

Purchased the Maxxair Fan for a Ford Transit camper conversion and after 6 months on the road I wouldn't have gone with anything else. It's easy to install, easy to use, and I've had no issues at all with it. Etrailer was also quick to provide support when / if I needed it!

Still working just fine after another 6 months on the road and using the van as a daily driver. Ive noticed some dust eventually builds up on the blades of the fan, but its easy enough to use a wet cloth and wipe it down. Fantastic product.

I bought 3 Maxxair Maxxfans from etrailer. Shipping was fast, they arrived in good condition, and etrailer match the lower Price I found online. What more could I ask for?

Works great! Quiet and seals up tight. Survived May and June rains in Michigan. It rained and rained... This should be OEM on all better RVs!

The fan was delivered yesterday. I just took it out of the box and it looks great. I have watched many videos on how to install it, many of them used these fans saying they are the best. After I find someone to put it in, I'll come back and let you know how it works!

- MA00-05100K

I wasn't able to install it until the Spring because of the winter climate in NH. So far it has functioned flawlessly. Great product.

- MA00-05100K

It's been a year since we installed our first Maxxfan Deluxe Vent W/ 12v Fan - Manual - 10 Speed - White.... 1) It wasn't too difficult to remove the old fan and install the new one. Took a little patience with the first install, but by the third (we have three fans) it was a piece of cake. Don't forget to use Decor to ensure everything is sealed properly. 2) These fans are very powerful. The one in my bathroom will actually suck the door shut. When we set the one the living area to blow air in and the one in the bedroom to blow air out, air really moves and cools down the rv fast. 3) They are way more quiet compared to my old original fans. Only when I have them on the highest setting to I notice they are on. 4) The built in rain vent is very useful given that if it is raining the only air we get is through the fan vents as all the windows must be closed. 4) My only disappointment has been with the way the fan blades are designed, the air moves more sideways near the ceiling (which is good as hot air rises) but when it is really hot and I'm lying in bed I would like the air to blow downwards so I can feel it.

- MA00-05100K

Nice fan, I put a 7000 over bed and installed this one over cabover in Class C. Install was easy and identical to the 7000. They need to include self taping screws to attach collar to roof, mine has a metal frame and included screws are for wood. It does have a thermostat button preset at 78 degrees so if you leave open it will pull or push air when cab reaches 78. 7000 has a remote and motor on lift, thats the only difference.

Still working fine. Have had no problems and would definitely buy again.

- MA00-05100K

Love our Maxxfan - it's much quieter than the Fan-tastic and moves more air. Easy to install myself and there are no leaks - even in the deluges of last year's monsoons. We also never have to worry about closing the lid when we travel. Great product !!

We love our maxxfan - much quieter than the Fantastic and easy to install.
Edward R - 03/01/2020

- MA00-05100K

Excellent fan, exactly what I needed. Easy install. I like that I can lock it in any position.

- MA00-05100K

etrailer does a great job getting items sent out and customer service is great. Very helpful with questions. The fan I replaced with the Maxxfan 5100 was in the bedroom of the 5th wheel and had the automatic lift lid and in the middle of the night would open and close and was quite loud. That's why I bought the manual lift. It works fine for us. Have used it for a full summer now without issue. I have noticed that the old fan did move more air than this one but hasn't been an issue for us. The only thing I don't like is when you set the temperature on automatic this little green light comes on and stays on. It is bright enough that it lights up the whole bedroom all night. Will find some black tape to cut and put over it. Was easy to install as other reviews have stated. Cleaning up the old dicor off the rubber roof was the only thing that took some time. Very happy with it.

- MA00-05100K

Put this on a raised roof E350 van. Install was straight forward and the fan works 'fan'tastically! Really fast shipping at a great price.

- MA00-05100K

Found etrailer by accident, it has been an great experience dealing with them and item shipped out swiftly and free shipping also. Will return for more items in future

- MA00-05100K

Great product. Installed this above our sleeping area to improve airflow. Works great and reduces need to run AC in the evening. I installed it prior to a 10 week road trip with our 5th wheel through Canada and Alaska. Worked flawlessly. Love it.

- MA00-05100K

This was bought as an enhancement for my original "Fantastic Fan" install. Straight forward and simple install. The hardest part was removing all the old silicone caulk that was used to seal the old vent. As expected, the install was basically "drop in." (I could even reuse the old interior trim moulding.) The only caution I'd have is pay attention to the mounting screws. All of the installation screws come in one bag. There are 4 interior trim screws, which are pretty obvious, large number of #6x 1" trim-ring-to-vehicle mounting screws, and 4 fan-to-mounting-ring #8x3/4 screws. After I installed the trim ring, I realized that I had 2 #8 and 2 #6. Oops, off to the hardware store to get a couple of #8. Lesson learned "RTFI" (read the f... instructions.) Still, the instructions didn't say to count the various screws. Also, the instructions are in TINY print. If you're old enough to afford an RV, and old enough to be replacing original equipment on it, you're too old to be able to read the tiny print. OTOH, there are some good videos out there.

- MA00-05100K

Arrived quickly, in great condition. I've used this fan before and it worked really well.

- MA00-05100K

The fan arrived promptly as scheduled, there was no damage in shipping and installation in an existing vent space on my class b van was straightforward and simple. I wired it into a nearby light circuit with no difficulty. Performance is excellent , quiet and with very good air flow. Lifting mechanism is sturdy and works easily. I am completely satisfied with the product and the delivery service.

- MA00-05100K

Excellent product. This is my second for my current RV replacing the low quality units that came on it. Both were purchased from etrailer since they have the best prices and excellent service.

For you I recommend a non-ducted unit that fits in the standard roof vent opening size (which is roughly 14-1/2 inches square) # ACM150. Using an air conditioner is going to be the only way to cool your camper to a comfortable temperature in those hot...

  • Can I Use a Lighting Fixture Circuit to Power a MaxxFan 4000
What is the maximum amperage of the circuit for the lighting fixture you intend to use and what is the total amperage draw for the lights you have ran to that circuit? I would need to know this information in order determine if it has enough power for the MaxxFan 4000. The MaxxFan 4000 draws 5 amps so if the total amp draw for all of the lights you have on this circuit plus the vent fan does not exceed the maximum amperage of the circuit for the lighting fixture then you will be fine. The...

  • Recommended Battery Charger for Battery to Run Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan
If you are wanting to power the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-05100K from your trailer battery that is being charged by solar panels, I recommend taking a look at the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D. This is a great DC-to-DC, 25 amp battery charger that features dual-input that allows you to connect it to solar panels. When connected in this manner, this particular charger will automatically draw power from the panels before tapping into the vehicle power...

  • Can MaxxAir Deluxe Roof Vent be Mounted on Slope
Yes, the MaxxAir Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-05100K that you referenced can be installed on a sloped roof (as long as it's still a straight incline/decline and not domed shape roof). This is really the case with any of the roof mounted vents we have available. This is an excellent 12V fan that features an integrated rain shield that will let you keep it open during any weather and a flush-mounted keypad for easy operation. I have attached a short video review that you can check out along...

  • MaxxAirFan Installation to Independent Car Battery
Your MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-05100K will require a minimum of 5 amp service. I recommend installing a 15A inline fuse or 20 amp circuit breaker like # PK54220 to protect your fan components. The manual doesn't state anything about this setup, so it is simply my recommendation as precautionary. You can use # 16-1-1 wire and ring terminal # DW05737-1. I recommend butt connector # DW05744-5 to connect to fan power leads.

  • Can MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-05100K Be Installed in Bathroom
With the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-05100K you can install it in a bathroom but you wouldn't want to put it in a dedicated shower room since the moisture level would be so high there.

Yes, the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Manual Lift - 10 Speed - White # MA00-05100K will fit in your 14-1/2" x 14-1/2" rough opening and when using the included garnish it will fill the small gap. Roof vents and fans like this are manufactured to the industry standard size and will be interchangeable as long as you're roughly in the 14" x 14" range.

  • Solar Powered Exhaust Fan Recommendation for Enclosed Trailer
If the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-05100K were to totally lose its power source it would lose all of its presets like with a car stereo. When in use this will draw up to 5 amps so it would be pretty taxing on a solar panel without a battery backup. We do have the Ultra-Fab Solar-Powered Plumbing Vent for Motor Homes # UF53-945001 which is a solar panel power exhaust fan that's totally self-contained. You'd just need to mount it and it would work on it's own.
