Video Transcript for Ventline Ventadome Replacement Vent Installation

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Ventline Replacement Dome Assembly in white, part number BVD0449-A01. It's also available in smoke, part number BVD0449-A03. This is going to be a direct replacement for the lid on your model number V2092, V2094, V2119 and V2128, Ventadome Roof Vents. It has the same web shape and it's made out of the same polypropylene material. Over time your lid may crack, break or fade. We're going to show you how to replace it. Now of course this will be in your RV, but for demonstration purposes, we're going to show you right here.

We'll flip it over and this will be as if we we're looking up. First thing we want to do is go ahead and remove the screen. We've got these little tabs surrounding it. We can actually just push those out and begin taking it off. All you're going to need for this job is a Phillips-Head screwdriver. Let's go ahead and take off the knob.

Once we get that screw loose, we can actually just pull up on the knob just like that and set it aside. For our tray here, we just need to push in on each side inward. We've got some teeth that we need to get around, but then it should just pop right on out. You can see the two teeth here. Then we've got our switch. If you'd like you can disconnect it, we're going to leave ours attached.

The other two wires here will be connected to your power in your RV. Then we can grab our Phillips-Head screwdriver again and we're going to remove our arm assembly. Now we'll need to take these screws all the way out. With those loose, it's going to allow us to remove our arm from our lid. We can just slide it off like so and just kind of leave it set there. Then it's going to allow us to remove our lid from our vent assembly. Now this portion will be on top of your RV.

You can actually lift up on the non hinged end of the lid all the way up and then take it off. We can grab our new one. We'll locate the hinge side, go ahead and turn it over, line it up and then turn it over like so. Now we can go back inside of our RV. Back here on the inside we can reconnect our arm assembly. We'll just need to slide this on to the portion right here just like that and then position it over our holes. I've gone ahead and reinstalled my other components. Let's go ahead and test it out. I'd say it's working pretty good. That's going to complete our look at the Ventline Replacement Dome Assembly.

Replacement Dome Assembly for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - Smoke - Wedge Shape - Plastic - BVD0449-A03

Average Customer Rating:  4.9 out of 5 stars   (331 Customer Reviews)

Replaces the smoke-colored, wedge-shaped, polypropylene plastic cover on your Ventline Ventadome RV roof vent.

These vents work well and they are a perfect fit if you are replacing existing ventadome vents. The Smoke color is my favorite, lets plenty of light in, but does not produce any glare.

They are a bit difficult to change if damaged. They are also susceptible to grape sized hail damage resulting in cracks and leaks.

4 Stars because changing them required removing the inner trim ring, screen, screen support frame and leaver arm assembly. I also wish they offered a thicker or hardened version for those of us who deal with hail all summer.

Worked perfect on my 2013 Open Range bunk house

The numbers on the original vent are "AS-13 M-VDO449". The correct item number to order is BVD0449-A03 (for smoke color). There is a note on the etrailer site about this issue for a white cover, but they don't specifically tell you which item number to order for the smoke color. Printed instructions on the new vent were excellent in most respects. But there was nothing about how to remove the safety clip from the outside of the camper. More importantly, reinstalling the clip was the hardest aspect of this replacement. To remove the vent, you must first go inside and remove the black handle, screen, plastic cowling and plastic separator. You must then remove the two screws holding the cranking assembly in order to remove the white plastic slide from the vent.

I was able to remove the clip by slipping a small flat head screwdriver under the top of the metal clip and prying it up carefully to avoid breaking or bending it too far. The new cover is then easily placed under the camper's hinge tabs and lifted into place. You may need to try to install the metal clip first so you can see how it fits together. In the photo the top of the clip is on the right while the left shows the extra tab which goes under the plastic vent. It took me a good 20 minutes to get the metal clip to seat properly over the two metal tabs on the vent frame.

After ordering product from a discounted store I was happy to see products were as advertised! Thanks for actually sending me what I needed. Your PROMPT delivery was well appreciated

by:

Perfect fit for our Reflection fifth wheel. Easy install!!

by:

Best customer service! Parts weren't all in but they kept me apprised of the situation and now I have exactly what I need. Kudos to the team for keeping on top of it!

by:

Ordered a roof vent to replace my cracked oem one came quickly and matched perfectly was easy to install

by:

Replaced my OEM lids on a 2022 Imagine Travel Trailer after a recent hail storm. The quality is great and a little darker than "smoke" as advertised but not an issue. Easy to replace! Cost is double than what is sold in stores locally here in Colorado but most were out of stock due to hail storm. Online customer service is better than our local stores. Will order again from this site. Great videos, information, and contact throughout the process.

by:

Missing a metal bracket to really attach it to the hinges so its useless to me

by:

The part fit perfectly. It came with directions that were simple and easy to understand. Removing the old part and the installation of the new part was seamless.

by:

Installation was very easy. It took longer to read and understand the instructions relative to my situation than to do the installation itself.

by:

The [online] video makes this look easy but fails to show the screws attached to the horizontal bar are not easily accessible because of the round knob that raises the opening bar. what should have been a short easy process became a 2hr project entailing climbing up and down off the roof a few times.
I assumed when looking at the picture that the item was black which is what I asked for when ordering. Smoke is not dark enough to keep out light and heat. If it wasn't so hard to replace (time-consuming) and I had a longer time span before I continued traveling..I would have returned item for one darker. Lesson learned from a 75 yr old solo woman rv'er..next time I will be more specific.

by:

easy installation, perfect replacement fit, fast shipping, easy and thorough navigation of website with good photos, detailed information and useful customer input.

by:

Ordered two of these and the installation was eazy peasy...parts fit perfect. The only issue I ran into was my ceiling garnish in both vents was dry rotted, so I jumped on the phone with etrailer (Dina Five Stars, I think I got the name correct) and she got me the ceiling garnish replacement parts, awesome! Thank you so much for your assistance and great customer service.

by:

It’s always nice to open a package and find exactly what you ordered. This is a great site to order from. The videos on how to install what you bought are a really nice touch!

by:

Perfect fit and easy to install

by:

Awesome product

by:

etrailer was a great company to work with. They took care of any issues very promptly and professionally. I highly recommend them! Thanks!

by:

The right part!! Good price also.

by:

This will replace my damage one's due a hail storm.
Better than the flex tape!

by:

After the third try, I finally got the one I needed and it was a simple fix to replace them.

by:

This is the second dome that I have ordered in the past week or two. This one came a lot darker than the other one. This is actually the shade that I wanted. Although the other one will work out just fine.

by:

Excellant service, will recomend websit e.

by:

Delivered exactly what I wanted and in a timely manner. Thank You

by:

Every time I have ordered whether faucet, vent cover, or keys always seems to be a great fit. We loose keys all the time and for them to be precut to measure is awesome. And the shipping is consistent.
