Installation Instructions

  1. Cut a 6-1/4" diameter rough opening through roof. (You can use the smaller diameter of the ceiling garnish as a template.)
  2. Remove the two screws from the roof cap and then take off the cap for access to the mounting holes.
  3. Apply sealant to bottom of flange. Be sure to surround each screw hole.
  4. Make electrical connections.
  5. Insert vent into the rough opening and align it correctly with the trailer. The flange is stamped "FRONT" on the part that should be oriented toward the front of the trailer or RV.

This unit was an exact replacement for the Escape installed vent that was destroyed by a freak hail storm. Still working great.

Hello all.
I have a 1973 Apache Pop
up, the original vent was missing so I looked online for a replacement and I came across this ventline vanaire roof vent, the vent fit perfectly in the original location of the old vent . This pop up has hard sides when you bring the roof down the side walls meet in the center but leave a gap between each other the handle for the vent fits perfectly in the gap. This memorial weekend we vacationed at Lake Isabella and it gets windy when the vent was closed it stayed closed no matter how strong the wind was. It was a success and worked perfectly. Thanks and I am a happy camper.

A great little exhaust vent fan. It allowed me to splice in aUSB ug to the power and utilize both 12V and usb 5.?V sepatatly power for slower speed note check the polarity of power leads from a hub or adapter charger 5.? Voltage wire need to be reversed so the fan operates in the correct direction. Splicing from a standard 12V to usb gives me the manual option of either speed. The fan will run in reverse via polarity. Slowerspeed perfect for venting while using my Wave3 furnace. I give it max stars

Our hunt club has 2 pit blinds that are used for waterfowl hunting. Each blind is essentially a concrete box with walls, floor and top 4 inches thick and dimensions of 12'x5'x5'. Each blind is buried to a depth of 5 foot to where the top is flush with ground level. Access is through the top using 24 inch wide manhole lids that are made of high density plastic. The cooler air inside of the blinds clashing with warmer air absorbed by the concrete and manhole lids at ground level caused condensation that made the inside damp and smelly. We only hunt 3 months each year, so needed a vent solution for the other 9 months the blinds were not in use. We also needed something that could be powered by DC voltage from a solar panel due to the remote location. In July 2015 we installed each fan into a manhole cover and used water-tight conduit and electrical boxes to run the wiring from the solar panel to each fan. Great solution! Once enough daylight hits the solar panel the fan blades start moving and run constantly until sundown. Will see how long these things last but so far so good

It has been a trial and error experience this past year, but now believe we have things figured out. We outsmarted ourselves and upped the wattage of the solar panel array this spring to run a pump and the fans, but didnt properly calculate the impact that would have on the fans. Bottom line, we sent too much juice to the fans and fried the motors. Luckily, etrailer sold replacement motors. Replacement was a breeze, and lesson learned. After that we split the solar panel array and now the correct voltage and amps are being used and no issues whatsoever. We also had a battle with mice getting inside the fan housing when not operating and making nests, which was a real mess. Solved that by opening the adjustable fan housing just enough to circulate air but not enough for Mickey and his friends to make a condo in the fan housing. Knock wood, the lessons learned this past year should make for trouble free operation from now on. I know that we are not using these vent fans in vehicles, campers or trailers as the majority of you do or intend to do. If we can make these fans do the job in our application, using these fans as intended in a vehicle, camper or trailer using a 12 volt battery and not solar panels and staying clear of rodents should be a breeze.

This is identical to the fan that I needed to replace. It lasted 7 years before needing replacement. Not bad for a unit with lots of plastic! I’m thrilled it was still available! 99% satisfied!! Etrailer is the best!! Great prices, fast shipping, excellent communication! Can’t ask for better service!

A direct replacement for the original bathroom vent in my 20 yr old Airstream. Very easy installation. Nice product. The improvements incorporated into the new one make it much quieter and it moves more air than the original.

The perfect for my trailer

by:

This little fan is working absolutely perfect in my homebuilt teardrop trailer. It's small size and low profile make it perfect for this project. It would even open if I installed a roof rack which is the main reason I avoided the larger 12x12 roof vent fans not to mention it was a fraction of the cost. It looks great and works excellent. Hot evenings are not an issue with this fan providing great ventilation, drawing heat out the roof and pulling in cool air through the doors. I highly recommend this fan. It was extremely easy to install and seals up tight with no leaks or issues of any kind.

by:

We purchased this product to go in our truck cap as part of a camper build-out in the bed of our truck. This roof vent fit the requirements for size. One of the the limitations was we needed to address our roof rack, and the need to have the vent open with the kayak on the roof. The other concern was with the thickness of the cap, or the lack of consistency in thickness. So trimming of the vent trim ring was necessary.
When we first turned the vent on it didn't seem like it was drawing any air, so we did a smoke test with the vent and it was working just fine! This was done as a quick test. Now we have the vent connected to the aux battery fuse block and run it while we are working on the rest of the interior build-out. It makes a noticeable difference when it's on.
It is a little bit noisy, so we'll see if it keeps me awake at night.

by:

Exact fit replacement.

by:

I bought this 6" fan a year ago and it is still going strong.
I mounted it vertically on the rear wall of my van conversion boxvan(RV Off-Grid Campervan) about 7" from the ceiling. It was a good fit because I didn't want to cut a hole in my roof and my ceiling. It pulls all of the hot air out of the room within less than a minute. If you want to mount yours vertically as well it will operate just fine with no flaws. Water has never leaked through the unit at all even while mounted on the wall instead of the roof. I recently recommended this fan to someone who needed a fresh air fan for summer as well in a van. Perfectly satisfied with this fan, recommend it and would buy again if the need arises!
Thank You

I am in the midst of bringing a 1979 Avion trailer back to its former glory. Lots of updating and repairs underway. The trailer came with a hole in the bathroom ceiling instead of the vent fan that once lived there. I searched around and found this vent fan, and at the best price here at etrailer. Perfect fit! Installation was a piece of cake. I am very happy with this product and etrailer and will continue shopping here as the renovation continues.

Fan failed.

by:

We use one of these in every trailer we make. They are reliable, easy to install, and attractive. We do install them on the side of the trailer, as we don't like to make holes in our roof.

by:

Great for tight spaces. Not the most flashy of designs, but they work well. Lower profile than the maxxair 6 inch round fan. Easy to work on when it comes time to needing to replace the fan motor as well.

by:

Just installed the Ventline 6 1/4 fan in my horse trailer. Simple easy and works great.

by:

Great weatherproof ventilation solution. Good air flow and simple install.

by:

To order was easy, very fast delivery, installation on teardrop camper went as I thought it would, works to vent camper, works very good. Quiet and looks good , I like it. GB.

by:

Great product! Came prebuilt, with simple easy to read instruction. Installion in the roof of my van was very simple. Couldn’t be happier!

by:

It works. It doesnt leak. My complaint would be its rattling noise; indicating a low quality fan motor. Possibily out of balance.

by:

Arrived on time as usual, installation was a breeze, it is perfect for our small trailer.

by:

My son finally got the roof vent hooked up he ordered from you, he hooked it up with a solar panel in the back of his 86' suburban to get more air back there.

by:

I sent in a review earlier and wanted to include these two inside and
outside pictures of my installation.

by:

I purchased this vent to remove damp air causing mildew growth from a plastic utility storage building on a concrete slab. The vent itself installed in under 5 minutes using the inside flange collar as a template and a reciprocating saw to cut the hole. I used gutter sealant and self tapping screws to attach to roof. I hooked the device up to a small solar panel and away it went. The 560 cubic foot storage building was full of dry fresh air in under 24 hrs with no sweating or condensing moisture as it was the prior day.
Very nice push-pull design to open and close the vent. Has a push button switch for power but I intend the let it run full time when the sun is out.
Thanks e-trailer, Best prices on the Internet too!

Purchased the Vanair Ventline fan to replace the one that was original equipment on our 2003 Teton fifth wheel. The old one was very noisy and I had already repaired the cover once. Shipping was cheap and fairly quick (UPS ground). The price was good. Installation was easy and the new unit fit perfectly.
I now have a very quiet new fan in the bathroom.

This fan has worked flawlessly for the past year. The only thing I recommend is to vacuum the fan screen about once every two weeks.

  • Recommended Replacement Roof Vent For An Airstream Flying Cloud 23D Travel Trailer
Yes, the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # VP-543SP is the same as the 690266-01 that's already in your Airstream. I recommend picking up some plastic trim panel tools like # PTW80647 to help pull up the old sealant without scratching up the roof. You'll want to use some butyl tape # AL28FJ around the mounting flange and some non-sag sealant # 344270341437-1 over the top of the flange to get a nice waterproof seal.

To remove the screen on the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP you will first need to remove the screw from either side of the handle, remove the handle, and then remove the screws that hold the vent in place. Be careful when you lower the vent as that switch will still be connected to wires. You can either disconnect the wires or choose to leave them connected while you clean (carefully). To replace the gasket that came with the vent you can use the Sealant # 34427034145-1 which...

  • Roof Vent Recommendation for a Pleasant Valley Tear Trailer
For your small tear trailer I recommend a small, round 12 volt vent/fan, # VP-543SP. You may not have to move the light, it will limit the hole size needed, and the curved roof won't be a problem. The vent just needs to be connected to a 12 volt circuit for power and grounded to a clean metal surface. I have linked a video review of this vent for you.

Yes, you can use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent part # V2110SP-24 on your 2017 GMC Savana Van. However, it is designed for a roof thickness between 1-7/8" to 3". Therefore, if you don't meet the minimum requirement of 1-7/8" you will need to make some sort of spacer to make up the difference as the roof on your Savana Van is likely not very thick.
