Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra RV Waste Valve with the included cap and tether. The unit simply adds, or replaces a waste valve in your RV's waste system. It's made from a strong, and durable black plastic construction. Here on this end we're going to have the cap and tether. The tether design is nice, because it keeps the cap from being misplaced or lost. Always keeps it connected.
Now you'll notice on this side that it's going to have the male threaded pipe. This is going to give us an outer diameter measuring outer thread to outer thread pretty close to one and seven eighths of an inch. Internal, which is inside edge to inside edge that going to give us a diameter of about one and seven sixteenths of an inch. One the other end this is going to give us an diameter measurement of about one and seven eighths of an inch, inner diameter is going to measure about one and nine sixteenths of an inch. It's designed for an inch and half pipe. On top we're going to have the easily accessible T-handle.
It makes opening, and closing the gate quick and easy. It's going to be gray in color. The unit is already assembled. It has the appropriate seals internally that's installed for leak-proof performance. Let me put the cap back on, and then we can go over a few more measurements.
I'm going to give you a length measurement with the handle in the closed position. That's going to give us a measurement of about six and three quarters of an inch. Then if we extend that out, and do that same measurement we're lookin' at about eight and three quarters of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra RV Waste Valve with the cap and tether.

It has done its job so far, no leaks so far after a year.
Appears well made and outside diameter of slip fitting fits nicely. Cap tether pivots as not to break from repeated use, although recommend taking the time to support the tether when unscrewing the cap.
Had difficulty locating a 1-1/2” waste slide gate valve with a threaded end and slip fitting on the internet. I custom made living quarters in the front section of my GN horse trailer. The park where I take horses camping frowns deeply on discharging grey water from my showe and sink on the ground (although it is ok to wash horses..go figure) so had to plumb in a drain system. This valve will allow me to make a connection to a portable grey wastewater tank.
I’d share pictures but haven’t installed the drain system, just received all the fittings to do so.
Excellent quality, packaged very well. Arrived sooner than expected! Great online service for parts. Parts will be used to separate black water from grey water, black water to septic, grey water to tank for other uses. Thanks again,
I buy a lot of these and they work great, after a year i usually put a little lube on the gate valve. The only time they go bad is when they get hit.
I am using the for a flush drain for my tuna bleed barrel. And fast delivery. Mark
