Go Tankless or Go Home

Tankless Water Heater

Say goodbye to quick, military-style showers, refilling your tank, and waiting for the hot water to recover. This revolutionary design replaces your outdated tank heater and gives you the luxury of taking back-to-back showers, washing dishes, and running a load of laundry all at once. Unlike traditional tank heaters that require constant energy to keep your water hot, this tankless, propane-fueled water heater only uses energy when you turn on your faucet or shower, providing the ultimate efficiency at a campground or off-the-grid. The endless, on-demand hot water has no recovery time and is perfect if you're on the road full-time or traveling with a large group. Relaxing Showers without Scalding or Freezing

Vortex Pic

Has your warm and relaxing shower ever been interrupted by a cruel burst of ice-cold water? Perhaps you've been the victim of a scorching surge of hot water that scalds you and sends you dancing out of harm's way. Either way, it's the worst, but those days are over. Furrion's vortex technology is designed to eliminate those dreaded hot and cold water fluctuations by consistently mixing hot and cold water together to reach your desired temperature, ensuring those warm, comfortable showers.

Safety First

This state-of-the-art technology is equipped with built-in safety measures to ensure you, your family, and your RV stay out of harm's way.

Its dual temperature sensors automatically shut off power if the water temperature exceeds 149 F, preventing the unit from overheating while also reducing the risk of hot water scalding. The unit also has a flame monitoring feature that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out to prevent gas from leaking inside your RV and a built-in safety valve that allows pressure to vent at 87 psi to prevent excess pressure and heat build-up.

5 stars for etrailer and Will specifically. The first unit we got was a lemon. After replacing the motherboard that furrion sent us under warranty it still wasn’t working properly. Contacting furrion was pointless. They didn’t have any replacements in stock so with them we were out of luck. Thank God we purchased from etrailer! Will (who is literally the best customer service rep I’ve ever dealt with from any company) helped us out immediately. He sent us a replacement almost overnight along with a prepaid shipping return label for the lemon. This new one worked like a champ.

The few cons I will say I’ve encountered with this water heater... sometimes it has a mind of its own and the temperature will just climb all the way up to 124 and then come back down even though it’s set at 95. I have no idea why it does this, fortunately it doesn’t happen very often. I cannot get a lukewarm shower very easily, if I turn on the cold water to cool it off it either makes the hot water heat up more to compensate or completely turns off the hot water. That’s kinda annoying. Sometimes it won’t even do 95, it starts at like 102 or higher, I’m thinking it’s bc it’s summer and the ground water is just too warm? Idk but that’s kinda frustrating too. Sometimes it’s hot out and you don’t want a hot shower but not a freezing one either, somewhere in the middle is ideal and on those days it’s hard to get the right temperature. Another issue is a design flaw so that when It rains, water gets in the exhaust hole and it will prevent the water heater from turning on. My husband put duct tape over it to create a flap which looks [bad] but works well. Haven’t had a problem since. Furrion would do well to create a flap for the exhaust hole to prevent this issue. Other than that, it does heat on demand as it should and keeps the temperature well. I love having endless hot water in the shower, especially since we have multiple people showering daily. Because it works on low pressure we have no need to install a separate pressure regulator as many have to do with the other brands available. We’ve never had an issue with it working no matter what water pressure we have.

Overall I would definitely recommend this one. It can operate on lower pressure than the other ones out there and is more powerful. The control monitor is perfect too. We placed ours in the bathroom by the shower since we knew that would be the only time We’d want to adjust the water temp. It works well, has advantages over the others on the market and is a little cheaper to boot.

Comments
Thank you for your review. The hot water heather has a default temperature of 115 F which is why it gets hotter initially.

Best rv upgrade ever! We live in our 5th wheel full time while I build our pole barn house. It's been slow going, but having endless hot water has helped so much with morale. Easy DiY installation, and great product.

by:

We received this unit with a damaged box and it had been taken out before. It was also missing the wall controller for the unit. We were able to get it replaced and the new one worked well. E-trailer required us to call Lippert. Lippert bought out Furrion and they did not call us back to do troubleshooting. E-trailer was able to just return the product.

by:

I contacted customer service to make sure this was the correct replacement for our RV. They responded promptly. The tankless water heater was exactly what we needed. It was super easy to install in our Grand Design 5th wheel. Highly recommend the Furrion and etrailer!!

by:

Absolutely awesome! Shipping was super fast. Install was pretty easy, 4 wires 3 fittings. Slipped right in where my suburban 6 gallon water heater was from the factory. Endless hot water and digital temperature control. Don't forget the door

by:

I love endless hot water. The only drawback is the amount of water usage needed to get to hot. When we're on the road, tank capacity is an issue.

by:

I installed this unit yesterday. It took alot longer than I expected it to. This unit is very compact and well built. The unit that I replaced was much larger so I had to reframe the opening to make this new unit fit correctly.I had to do some major replumbing in order to get the pex tubing long enough to get it to move enough to get it to the outside wall of my RV. You must do this because you have to make the water and gas connections BEFORE you push the unit into place. You cannot make these connections after you slide the unit into place unless (in my case) you wish to take out the base unit of your shower! My wife was the first to get a shower using the new unit and she loved it! Turn on the water and adjust the temperature and take a shower like normal, no more wet, shut off and lather and then turn on a rinse. Would I do it again, you bet.

I run a food trailer and this hot water heater does an excellent job. It was not hard to install. I always have hot water on demand.

by:

The water heater is great. But I was disappointed that the description made me believe it came with a front cover and it didn't.

by:

Great price lighting fast shipment, etrailer saved a 2 week trip for us!

by:

Best water heater I've ever had in an R V.

by:

Great service. Shipped and arrived faster than expected. On-line specs were accurate and helped with the decision making. Fairly easy to install. The main problem was working in and around existing plumbing in confined space. Furion was able to cover me for the oversized door.

by:

great place to get what you need, very helpful, knew what we needed and shipped exactly what we needed, fast and free shipping! thanks again

by:

Easy to install takes a little bit for water to get hot but overall satisfied

  • What Tankless Water Heater Will Function In Winter Temps?
Because the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater, model # FR93FR that you linked to, and other similar models, are most commonly mounted in compartments with exterior access doors that are not heated, the manufacturer recommends that they be winterized when temps drop below 39 degrees to prevent freeze damage.
