Video Transcript for All About the Valterra RV Water Pressure Regulator and Gauge

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra Water Regulator and Pressure Gauge for RVs, part number A01-1124VP.Campground water pressure can be very high. Don't take the chance that your campground water pressure isn't regulated. A regulator can save you the hassle of a disaster in your plumbing by limiting how much pressure is introduced into your RV. As you can see, it's not going to affect the pressure here on the inside of our RV. We still have good flow at our faucet. Newer RVs plumbing systems may be able to handle higher pressure, but the regulator's going to give you some peace of mind.

The Valterra Water Regulator is going to maintain a psi between 40 and 50.Some water pressure regulators don't have a gauge. The nice thing about this one is you'll be able to tell if there's low pressure coming from your city water. That way, you don't think there's a problem with your RV. Of course, if you have high pressure, there may be something wrong with your regulator. Now, pressure regulators can get clogged, which can cause an inaccurate reading in our pressure.

The nice thing about this one is that it has a screen to prevent dirt and debris from getting inside. It's a lead-free design. It's easy to install. We'll go ahead and show you that now. First thing we need to do is locate our city water connection on our RV. Then we can take our regulator.

We'll be working with the male end, and we're going to thread that in. Now, I want to make sure that my regulator gauge is on top. That way, I can easily read it. Now, you don't need to over-tighten this. Just get it nice and snug, therefore you won't have any leaks. Then we can take our hose and connect it to our regulator.

Now, the nice thing here is, is that it rotates for easy connection. Again, we're just going to get that nice and snug. That way, we don't have any leaks. We turn the water on, and as you can see, it's holding at around 40 psi. Now we're going to turn it all the way up. As you can see back at the gauge, with the hose turned on all the way, it's still holding at 40 psi. It's doing its job.And that's going to complete our look at the Valterra Water Regulator and Pressure Gauge for RVs, part number A01-1124VP.

Gauge came quickly. Not rating the product yet, but etrailer is my go-to for quality camper products. Love their customer service.

by:

As described and shipping on time!

by:

The product looks great. However, I have not had an opportunity to try it out.

by:

All products I have ordered from etrailer have been great quality and I have only positive feedback. Customer representative, Paula, was delightful and most helpful. She took special care to answer my questions and made me feel confident with my purchase. I have not had the RV porch light installed yet, nor have I used the water pressure regulator. Will make a trip in September and use them at that time. Don't have a photo for you yet.

Received product and totally satisfied. I received my water pressure regulator in two days. Package arrived intact with no damage during shipping. I did not get to test the regulator until a few days later. My family goes camping a lot with our rv. I bought the regulator because a lot of campsites do not have a regulated supply and high water pressure can damage the plumbing of a travel rv. Some sites put out much more pressure in these parks than is safe for the plumbing in a trailer and can cause leaks and failures of plumbing devices. I found out the hard way. I tested this regulator and it stayed at a steady water pressure of about 42-43 psi, even with the faucet turned on all the way. And simple to use, just screw it on the faucet at the parking spot and then connect your water hose to it. Arrived earlier than expected, is well made, and it works! What else can I say? Excellent service and follow up. Could not be more pleased; highly recommend.

Water pressure regulator looks to be well made and pressure gauge is easy to read. I will be using this regulator at rv park potable water faucet to keep pressure between 40 to 50 psi and the gauge will show me what the actual pressure is going to my rv. I purchased this regulator to protect my rv plumbing from damage caused by high water pressure. This regulator is exactly what I ordered and arrived well packaged and free of damage. etrailer videos and reviews helped me making this purchase. I will be ordering more items soon.

by:

I installed the pressure gauge/water regulator. It shows 40. I have a 1998 Dutchman. Don't figure that will blow the pipes. What ruins the regulator pressure is adding a WALMART water purifier. It drops the 40 lbs to 30 I swear. So I threw it away. The product looks like the picture and works like it says it will. Will see how it goes. Thank you!

by:

I ordered and received the product in good time and in excellent condition. It was easy to connect (using the large orange collar) and the pressure guage is accurate. I would definitely buy from George at etrailer.com again.
Thanks for the great service George!
Randy

Gauge no longer works. Stored in garage over winter so perhaps the cold weather was the culprit and not the gauge. Even when not hooked up the gauge reads 45 psi.

Let me get that taken care of for you. This item does have a 1-year warranty. I have sent this information over to our customer service department for them to look into a possible warranty for you.

I purchased this pressure relief valve to control the water pressure to my boat when it is hooked up to city water. It arrived on time and was very simple to install ( no more than 10 minutes). It reduced city water pressure from approximately 65 PSI to 40 PSI which is th safe design PSI for my water system.

I would buy from etrailer.com again.

by:

I patiently waited for this item. etrailer informed me that the item was not in stock. They offered me a similar choice, but I elected to wait until my entire order was filled.
Thank you

by:

The product has not been put in service yet. It should provide safe water pressure regulation from high pressure campground sources and protecting motorhome plumbing. I chose Valtera Co. product even though it cost more than similiar devices which allows reading actual pressure on its meter.

by:

Everything I ordered came in one box and was all in good condition. The delivery time was great. I have used etrailer.com now for many things needed for my truck and travel trailer. They never disappoint. This service is awesome. They answer questions with there help line and give lots of documentation to help with setting up and using your purchase. Many of the brick and mortar stores need to learn how to serve the customers as well as etrailer does.

by:

So easy to order from the website which always has a useful description of the product and ample reviews to read. The water pressure regulator I ordered is excellent quality as is the surge protectir.

by:

I’m not sure of the accuracy, or calibration, but it is reassuring to see a pressure reading and that the regulator is doing its job. I give it only four stars for this reason.
I am happy with the product.

by:

should I have water pressure problems the gauge allows me to see if it's in the camper or the campground

by:

Super for regulating water pressure, good product. I added a flex hose to it for easier use.

by:

My livestock need constant fresh water and this is the cheapest and best way to reduce water pressure for a water trough. Attach the pressure reducer to the spigot.... attach the water hose to the pressure reducer... turn water on... constant fresh water. The price is less than half for a pressure reducer from Lowe's or Home Depot and you don't have to cut the line to attach their pressure reducer. Without the gage this water pressure reducer is $10...

by:

Installed it on my motorhome and the first thing I noticed was that the gauge filled up with water and leak like a sieve. I use it and had to throw it away. Will never buy another one because they're cheap and do not work. Chinese junk

by:

hook up your rv hose without a concern about the campsite water pressure.

by:

Have not used it yet but sure it will work well

by:

Very Good quality for the price. Easy to see what the pressure is in system and prevent damage to RV lines.

by:

Appears to be a quality item, and should prove to be a worthy tool in controlling incoming water pressure in our fifth wheel camper.

by:

I like knowing what kind of pressure we are getting. I thought with this that you could twist to change pressure, but it doesn't work like that. Recommend this to anyone who wants to make sure they won't blow lines inside camper.

We still enjoy the product we had purchased and actually plan on buying more this coming season.

Product seems heavy duty and worked as advertised. It kept the water pressure at about 43% and was very easy to install.

  • What To Do When Your Freshwater Tank Is Filling Up When On City Water
If your freshwater tank is filling up with water when on city water then the gasket inside your water pump has failed and is allowing water to backflow. This is typically caused by not using a regulator # A01-1124VP on high pressure city water systems, improper winterization allowing water to freeze in the pump, or the gasket just failed due to age/usage. You'll want to check the psi and gpm listed on your current pump so that you can determine the correct replacement. I've attached a...

  • Troubleshooting Backflow From The City Water And Holding Tank Water Inlets
Depending on how your plumbing is setup you could have a check valve at the water inlets and also in certain spots throughout the system. On my dad's fifth wheel he has specific valves he has to shut off or on depending on whether he's using city water or holding tank water. I recommend first replacing the city water inlet since that one should have a check valve attached to it. We have a variety of options like the RV City Water Inlet with Brass Check Valve # 37262165, which has a 1/2"...

  • Water Pressure Regulator With a Replaceable Pressure Gauge
I recommend upgrading to the Valterra Adjustable Water Regulator # A01-1117VP. It uses a higher quality gauge and they offer a Replacement Gauge # A01-1125 in the event it is damaged. You will also be able to adjust your water pressure with this regulator. The gauge on the Valterra RV Water Pressure Regulator # A01-1124VP is not adjustable or replaceable. The entire regulator must be swapped out.

  • Recommended Water Pressure Regulator For A Valterra Water Inlet.
The Valterra Water Inlet for RVs # A01-0178LFVP does not have a pressure regulator so you would need to purchase one like the # A01-1124VP separately if you wanted regulate the pressure running to your RV. This water inlet does have a check valve though to prevent water from backfeeding. This pressure regulator with screw into the outside of this inlet and allow you to screw on your fresh water hose.

  • Why Is Water Leaking From The Drain Tube Of A Furrion Tankless Water Heater
If you have water continuously leaking from the drain tube of your Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR then it would either indicate that the water pressure is too high and the pressure relief valve is doing its job or that the pressure relief valve is faulty and would need replacement. You can adjust the pressure by using a regulator like part # A01-1124VP. If the pressure is fine and it continues to leak then the pressure relief valve is going to need to be replaced and you'll want...

  • Where Does the Water Regulator Get Installed On a Camper
The Valterra High Flow Water Regulator part # A01-1122VP will need to be installed on the city water inlet, on the exterior of the camper. This would be the only location that could protect the plumbing inside your camper. That said, I recommend you go with the Valterra Water Regulator and Pressure Gauge part # A01-1124VP which has an easy to read gauge instead.

  • What Is The Pressure Reading Source For The Valterra RV Water Pressure Regulator
The gauge on the Valterra RV Water Pressure Regulator and Gauge for RVs # A01-1124VP is going to display the pressure of the "city water" coming into your RV. If the gauge is showing higher than 40-50 psi then either the gauge is not properly working or the regulator itself is not dropping the city water pressure down to a safe level. If you see low pressure on the gauge then you'll know the issue is with the city water source and not with your RV.

  • Troubleshooting An Excel Tankless Water Heater That Isn't Heating Water
The likelihood that two separate Excel RV Tankless Water Heaters # EX93FR wouldn't heat the water in your trailer is pretty low so I would say you possibly have an issue with your water or gas. You'll want to first make sure that you've inserted two D batteries in the unit to operate the ignitor. You'll need to check the water pressure to ensure you're getting around 40-50 psi, you can use a pressure regulator like # A01-1124VP if you're using city water. If you're running off of a water...

  • Troubleshooting A Dometic Gas And Electric RV Water Heater That Won't Operate
The Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR uses both gas and electric to properly operate. The electric heating element just assists to make it heat water faster but the main power source is going to be the gas. If your regulator is failing or needs to be readjusted it could be restricting the pressure and cause the heater to malfunction. My first recommendation would be to cut the power to the unit and leave it off for 5 minutes to fully power down. Afterwards you can power it back up and...

We do have a water pressure regulator that is similar to the Camco RV Water Pressure Regulator # CAM40064 but with a gauge that you can read numbers off of. • Does Valterra RV Water Pressure Regulator and Gauge Actually Regulate Water Pressure
The Valterra RV Water Pressure Regulator and Gauge for RVs # A01-1124VP does actually regulate the water pressure to 40-50 psi to help protect your RV system just like you're wanting. Unfortuantely I can't really speak to a review from 8 years ago, but I can say that we have been told by Valterra this regulates the pressure and you can see it reflected in the reviews of this product on our site.

  • Troubleshooting Low Water Pressure In An RV With A Pressure Regulator And Water Filter
Since the water filter could become clogged with debris, sediment, etc. there is the possibility that this is causing the low pressure. You can replace the cartridge inside your filter with part # CAM40621 to see if this solves the issue. If not then it could be that the regulator is the issue and that you'll need to replace it with another like part # A01-1124VP. Regulators can fail over time or become clogged up internally so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that this is...
