Padded, Ratcheting Hooks

Swagman Nomad 2-Bike Carrier

The Nomad's mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.

Sliding Wheel Hoops

Swagman Nomad 2-Bike Carrier

The rack has wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. Hand knobs let you easily slide the hoops along the tray to accommodate your bike's wheelbase. Each hoop has a ratcheting strap that secures your bikes' wheels during transport.

Folds for Cargo Access and Storage

Nomed 2-Bike CarrierSwagman Nomad 2-Bike Carrier

You can fold the mast down with bikes unloaded for access to your rear cargo area. Simply pull the pin at the base of the mast and fold it down in either direction. You can also fold the wheel trays up to get them out of the way at the campground, or to create a smaller footprint for storage. Just pull the pins at the junctions where the trays meet the rack, fold the trays up, and reinsert the pins into the provided holes.

Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin

Hitch Pin

The rack includes a threaded hitch pin and a clip that helps eliminate movement in the hitch receiver during transport. You can replace the pin and clip with an anti-rattle lock (sold separately) to secure the bike carrier to your vehicle.

We had a Thule bike rack we had been using on the back of our travel trailer. The bikes took a beating, and we had to check them and adjust at every stop. We just arrived at our first destination since using the Swagman bike rack. This was a 4-hour drive over varying road conditions. What a difference! I could tell by checking our trailer rear camera as we went that the bikes were not moving around as they had with the Thule. The Swagman held the bikes solid and did so while leaving room for the trailer spare tire and our portable holding tank that is mounted on the bumper of the trailer. I would highly recommend to RVers.

by:

Great product! Easy to install. Easy to adjust to bikes. Solid construction. Nothing moves or loosens up in travel. Installed on a travel trailer. By far the best we’ve seen in any campground. Price is fair! Nice to have the bikes with us, secured on a carrier and not bouncing in the back of the truck. Highly recommend this bike carrier!!

by:

Great rack, I like the extended, elevated shank, it allows the bikes to easily clear the back of the travel and makes it easy to work around the spare tire. Well thought out design.

by:

Very strongly made zero movement at the hitch. Easy to assemble. Bit heavy to move around and install

by:

A very secure rack. We had it on our RV and drove over 9000 miles with no issues.

by:

This is one heavy duty Bike Rack. Work’s perfect on our 2022 Montana High Country 295 rl.

by:

works great for our bicycles

by:

Easy to assemble, seems study.

by:

Very sturdy bike rack. We travel with two bikes worth about $1000 each, and we feel very confident using this rack for that usage.

by:

I have assembled the Swagman Nomad but have yet to actually use it. I intend to use this rack on the rear of a travel trailer so the RV durability will be tested. A couple of things to note: 1) the threaded hitch pin does not come with a lock; the lock will cost you an extra $37. 2) the rack does not come with cables to lock the bikes to the rack. 3) This is a pretty basic rack, not at the level of Kuat, Thule, Yakima and other high priced rack systems. That said, the Nomad does appear durable. We’ll see how it treats our bikes.

Works great

by:

very nice bike rack

by:

Very solid built, easy installation survived 1200 miles on the back of my fifth wheel with 2 bicycles on it.

by:

Excellent bike rack! Extremely sturdy on rear of camper, with very little, if any, bikes bouncing around.

by:

We’ll built. Easy assembly. Fits my RV perfectly while lifting bikes for good wheel clearance. Good room between bikes too. I am very happy with it.

by:

Easy assembly and very sturdy with 2 adult bikes. Allowed plenty of clearance between bikes and back of RV to avoid any rubbing or damage to RV during travel.

by:

Well built. Perfect for my Keystone Montana 2020 295RL. Easy to install

  • Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 5th Wheel Camper
You are correct that the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 isn't rated for use at the back of a 5th wheel camper but I have an alternative for you with the Swagman Nomad Bike Rack # S36FR instead. This can hold 35 lb bikes with up to a 52" wheelbase and up to 3-1/2" wide tires. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Will The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13397 Fit a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport For Carrying Bikes?
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13397 is a good fit for your 2024 Honda CR-V. I have linked an installation video for this receiver on your vehicle below as we have performed the installation in our shop already. This will allow you to carry the Swagman Nomad Bike Rack # S36FR which you saw. I do recommend installing a 4-way which will allow you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 as bikes often impair the view of the tail lights when they are on the rack. You will need either the...

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 826 for Carrying Bike Rack
For your 2019 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 826 the best hitch option would be the Curt multi fit hitch part # 13703 as it fits all frame styles that are between 22 and 72 inches apart and would work great to carry a bike rack like the Swagman Nomad part # S36FR which is approved for use at the rear of a travel trailer like what you have as well.

  • Fitment of Curt RV Bumper Trailer Hitch Receiver to 2022 Jay Flight SLX7-174BH
Yes, the Curt RV Bumper Trailer Hitch Receiver, # E-100 has a 2" square receiver opening and is ideal for hitch accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers. This is intended for use on 4" square channel bumpers, which is most likely what your new 2022 Jay Flight SLX7-174BH will be equipped with. This has a 350 lb. tongue weight rating. I recommend you use this with the Swagman Nomad Bike Rack for 2 Bikes, # S36FR.

  • Platform Bike Rack Recommendation to Fit Hitch at Rear of Fifth Wheel Trailer
Sounds like you are looking for a platform bike rack that is fifth wheel trailer hitch compatible. For that we have the Frame mounted Swagman Nomad Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # S36FR which carries up to two bikes. However, if you want a tire-mount, I recommend the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # LGA77FR. It only touches the bikes at the tire like you said you wanted, which is a nice feature to protect delicate frame materials...

  • Recommended Padlocks for Locking Bikes on Swagman Nomad Bike Rack
I recommend using the Master Lock Covered Solid Body Padlocks # 141T to lock the ratcheting arms on the Swagman Nomad Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S36FR. These padlocks have a 1/4" diameter shackle and they use the same key since they come in a pair.

  • Swagman Bike Rack with More Shank Clearance than Swagman Traveler XC2
We don't like to recommend hitch extensions for bike racks that are going to be used at the rear of travel trailers as a first option as they add quite a bit of movement and leverage on the hitch. So instead of using the # S64663 with one I would recommend going with a similar RV rated bike rack that has more clearance. Like with the Swagman Nomad part # S36FR which has 11-7/8 inches from the pin hole to the nearest portion of the rack which would much more easily fit without an extension.

  • Recommendations to Tow a Trailer and 2 Bikes with a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon 2.5i Limited
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75673 is what I recommend for you to install on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon as it can easily tow a 1,500-lb trailer and hold 2 bikes. You will want to check your owner's manual though about the max Tongue Weight (TW) of your Outback Wagon. From what I found online it looks like it has a TW capacity of 200 lbs which, since a trailer's TW should be 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight, could be an issue if you are wanting to carry bikes as...

  • Could Swagman Nomad Bike Rack Clear Rear Spare of 2008 Jeep Wrangler
To determine if the Swaman Nomad part # S36FR would fit and clear past the rear door of your Jeep Wrangler you'd need to take one simple measurement. You'd need to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear spare. If that dimension is less than 11-7/8 inches this would fit and clear easily.

  • Options to Carry 2 Bikes on a Lance 1685 Travel Trailer That Has a 1-1/4 Hitch
I have a few potential options for you, but we do not have any 1-1/4" bike racks that are rated for use with a travel trailer. Your first option would be to replace your 1-1/4" hitch with a 2" hitch. This can be done a couple of ways. The first would be using a frame mounted hitch like the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13702 (for frames 18" to 51" Wide) or # 13703 (for frames 22" to 72" Wide). You could also use the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 if you have...

  • Bike Rack & Hitch For E-Pro Travel Trailer
Hi Teri, We can get you a bike rack for your E-Pro travel trailer, but first you'll need a hitch (assuming one is not already on the camper). For that you'll need the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703. This can be welded or bolted onto your trailer and gives you a 2" hitch for a rack. The rack does need to be travel-trailer approved, and for that use the Swagman Nomad Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S36FR. What I like about the Nomad is it's 8" rise so...

Since travel trailers like your 2022 Keystone Bullet Crossfire 2430BH have a rougher ride quality at the rear of them compared to passenger vehicles you would need a bike rack that is reinforced more to compensate for that like with the Swagman Nomad part # S36FR. Since you have fenders that rules out the Escapee since you can't use fendered bikes with this rack. • Bumper Bike Rack Solution for 2015 Jayco X20E Hybrid Camper
Hey Charles, so the reason the RV Bumper Bike part # S80605 that you referenced requires 2 inches between the bottom of the trailer body and the top of the bumper is to clear the mounting hardware. So if you are sure you don't have that clearance you wouldn't be able to install the rack. You could possibly modify the body to gain the clearance or a bumper hitch like the part # E-100 with an RV bike rack like the # S36FR could work too.

  • Why Can't Some Bike Racks be Used at Rear of Flat Towed Vehicle
Hey Michael, great question as this used to bug me and it didn't seem to make sense to me. So we spoke with Hollywood Racks and at the rear of a flat towed vehicle there is a bit of sway created since the vehicle has a tendency to turn slightly to the left and right as it tracks behind the tow vehicle. That creates additional stress that eventually can cause some racks to fail. For a similar bike rack that is rated for this application we do have the Swagman Nomad part # S36FR which would...
