Two Different Mounting Options

Two Different Mounting Options

The HiLoHitch gives you the flexibility to mount your hitch receiver above or below your RV bumper. You can mount your hitch receiver below the bumper if your camper body hangs over your bumper. You can also mount it above to give your bike rack or cargo carrier an extra 6" of clearance to avoid scraping on uneven surfaces when entering or leaving parking lots or crossing roads.

Hitch-Clamping Design

Hitch-Clamping Design

No more loud, shaky rides and damage to your bike rack or cargo carrier. Unlike conventional bumper-mounted hitches that often tighten down the shank using set screws that cause instability and dents, the HiLoHitch has a unique clamping design that firmly holds your bike rack or cargo carrier in place to help reduce noisy rattling and avoid damage to your shank from rocky, bumpy rides.

The shank is held in place between a 1/4" steel base plate and free-floating pressure plate. The heavy-duty retention bolt is used to tighten the pressure plate down, creating a clamping force to reduce movement of your hitch-mounted accessory. The base plate helps distribute the load when the pressure plate is engaged to prevent denting and other damage. Shank locks in place with a 5/8" hitch pin and clip (sold separately).

No Load-Bearing Fasteners

Most bumper-mounted hitches use load-bearing fasteners, such as U-bolts, to carry the weight of hitch-mounted accessories, like a bike rack or cargo carrier. The bolts can easily dent your bumper if over-tightened and tend to loosen over time, causing your hitch to bounce and shake while driving down the road, leading to more damage on your bumper. This unique design was constructed with a retention fastener to firmly clamp the side plates and base plate around your bumper to reduce the risk of damage.

Highly recommend this over the "Eaz-Lift 48473 Square Bumper Hitch Adapter for 2" Receiver" that wrecked my old bumper. This evenly wraps and tightens around whole bumper as opposed to a a couple pressure points that will crush and bend your bumper. I would recommend the safety struts if you aren't using an upgraded bumper.

by:

The spare tire mount that came with our motorhome was not strong enough to securely hold the heavy spare tire. etrailer recommended the Mount-n-Lock HiLoHitch and the etrailerHitch Mounted Spare tire Carrier and the combination worked very good for us. My husband and I are in our mid 70's and we were able to do the instillation ourselves with the help of the enclosed directions and some online videos. The hardest part was lifting the heavy spare tire onto the carrier.

by:

This was an easy installation on the back of our 5th wheel camper. I use this for mounting my 1up brand bicycle carrier to the rear bumper. I haul two ebikes so the weight being carried is in the 80-90 pounds and have not had any problems.

Just a reminder, be careful when going through a dip. We did this last year, the bike carrier drug on the ground and was pulled out of the hitch. A kind, honest individual tracked us down and returned our rack and bikes. That could have been a very expensive mistake.

by:

Very happy with the shipping, rugged material and fabricated parts assemble and fit well. Many pieces and full concentration to assemble, pretty much a perfect fit to the 4 inch bumper on my 2105 303 RLS. I now have installed the support brackets (MNL 1SSNHD) and the Hilo Hitch and preparing a trip with the rv. I will fabricate and add a couple angle iron pieces to sure up bumper brackets to frame. Then safe for the 2 ebikes.

by:

This will bend your rv frame and total your trailer. DO NOT USE.

by:

Great product just as expected

by:

Just installed this hitch today. Very easy assembly and happy with the design and the way it looks. Will update after first few trips with bike rack.

Great! Love this product. No issues at all.

by:

Feels very heavy and well built.

by:

Locks TIGHT onto camper bumper and TIGHT onto any attachment you slip into this receiver. No more bouncing bicycles!

by:

Shipping was great.

by:

While the item was of good quality and very well constructed, I was not able to use it in either the top or bottom positions. The configuration of my bumper and the trailer body was such that the unit could not be installed.

by:

I am glad I spent the extra money for this. So much sturdier than those other mounts. Went together very easily. E-trailer was a huge help verifying that it would fit given the narrow space I had between my bumper and the trailer skin. I highly recommend.

by:

Easy to install. Bolt to tighten load does not hold load very tight. Side to side movement. Up and down ok.
Overall this should do what I bought it for.

by:

good quality and looks to be plenty str ong.

went on a 4000 mile road heald up great with 2 bikes on the hitch

by:

Works as designed to attach bike rack to trailer bumper

by:

This is awesome. I had a cargo rack that I modified to hold my generator and extra propane bottles. The cargo rack is a cheap one that was always a sloppy fit in the 2” receiver. This receiver took all of the sloppiness out of that plus I believe it will work with most random 2” hitches. I have not tried to remove the cargo rack yet but I hope if I need to it be easy enough. I am also wondering how it would do without anything plugged into it.

by:

Heavy duty. Great for a bike rack. So far so good

by:

It's pretty reliable. I'm also a pieces and parts kinda guy, so assembly was fun.

by:

Heavy duty (not wimpy) mount for our RV bumper. Using it for our bike rack. Super sturdy.
Shipping was very timely.

by:

Very sturdy but cannot mount receiver above bumper without plenty of clearance.

by:

Went on easy. First trip next week. See how it goes.

by:

Haven't installed the hitch yet (upcoming weekend project). However, service was excellent. Website easy to use, and shipping a breeze. I put normal shipping and they notified me within a day that they bumped up the shipping at no extra charge. I ordered it with standard (5 to 7 business day) shipping and on 4/14 and it arrived on 4/17! Excellent experience!

by:

Not only did I receive the Mount n Lock 2 days early, it came in a really stout box. The packaging was absolutely the best and the directions are extremely easy with high quality pictures. I recommend this company and their products to everyone.

by:

Easy to install, very specific directions, good solid material.

Still works as advertised. solid, no rust.

Good and sturdy. Almost didn’t fit. Make sure your bumper sticks out past your trailer.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2013 Coachmen Clipper Sport 106 Pop Up Trailer
Unless the bumper is reinforced and has a stated weight capacity I do not recommend putting any attachments on it. Most factory bumpers don't come with enough weight capacity to hold a bike rack and bike so most campers end up needing to install a new receiver hitch. To know what size you'll need you'll have to measure the distance on the inside between the I-beams of the frame. We will have a trailer hitch receiver that is able to be mounted to your 2021 Winnebago Micro Minnie 225RL, but you will need to determine the correct one. From the photos I saw it looks like this trailer does have a bumper and spare tire, so you will need to utilize a bumper-mounted trailer hitch. To determine the correct one, you will only need to measure your bumper, and it is very likely a 4" square bumper. If so you would need the following hitch: - Mount-n-Lock HiLoHitch for 4"...

That leads me to believe you would have the same issues, so I recommend going with a hitch that installs differently, the Mount-n-Lock HiLoHitch for 4" RV Bumpers # MNT47FR. So long as the bumper of your travel trailer is a 4" x 4" square bumper I recommend the Mount-n-Lock HiLoHitch for 4" RV Bumpers # MNT47FR. I really like this hitch because unlike other hitches for bumpers you can mount this above or below your bumper, and instead of attaching to your bumper with U-bolts (that can potentially dent your bumper), the Mount-n-Lock clamps on, securing with a retention bolt and pressure plate. If you haven't selected a receiver yet, I'd recommend the # MNT47FR from Mount-n-Lock which is compatible with 4x4 tube bumpers found on many RV's, and can be mounted either above or below the bumper.
