Will Lippert Pull-Out Steps Work for You?
Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The pull-out steps from Lippert are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Lippert pull-out steps attach the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the door frame, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 27-1/2" wide and 12" deep.
If it turns out you have more or less space beneath your doorway, there are other step assemblies available with bracket sizes ranging from 25-1/2" wide to 28" wide. A full list of the available steps is below.
Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.
Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, plus 6" to 9" to account for the drop from the bottom step to the ground. This measurement will also tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays entry height measurements in the first column. If you determined you need a 25-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a 25-3/4" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. The steps for 27-1/2" mounting bracket widths are in the fourth column, and the steps for 28" mounting bracket widths are in the fifth column. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.

Had to make a slight modification to the mounting bracket on the trailer. Steps are a perfect replacement. Like the ease of operation. Good choice of steps. Very quick service. Ordered on Monday arrived on Wednesday afternoon.
Our experience with trailer has been great. We were on the road out of our home state when our steps were damaged. We called them and we had our new steps in just a couple days. Friendly staff, prompt service, and quality products.
The steps arrived with some shipping damage, but Carol C. in Customer Service promptly shipped a replacement and submitted a pick-up request for returning the damaged item. I got the replacement within a couple of days. etrailer continues to show integrity and a real commitment to its customers! Thanks for running your company with pride.
Product is a good replacement for our damaged stairs. It was sent to us in the manufacturers packaging which, is suspect, isn't meant for shipping by itself. The box was damaged and the new steps slightly bent and scratched upon arrival. A little tweaking and all is well. Otherwise it fit well. Thanks.
I had bent up my old stairs and these stairs were super easy to install and work smoothly as a replacement.
We have sold the RV that I had purchased the steps for and just hung onto them. The RV that we replaced it with has a little better steps so I haven't installed the Solid Step on this one. I still may do it but this RV is a little higher off the ground so I don't know if the 3 step unit is going to be tall enough. The Lippert Solid Step is definitely an upgrade for anyone that has the manual pull out steps on their unites.
I bought a used fifth wheel that had a broken step on it, so I googled my trailers info and etrailer.com came up with the part number and price, ordered it and got it in four days and in a half hours time with my wife’s help we had it installed using a couple blocks of wood and 2x4.
It feels nice and safe now.
Great item, it is the only step unit I could find with 7" rise steps.
The steps were exactly as described. Easy to install and a perfect fit on my 2006 Montana 3400RL 5th wheel. Shipping was fast and free.
Amazing product and outstanding service. I could not be happier.
I had not seen a set of LCI fold up stairs installed on a step van and George was a lot of help with info I needed. I purchased a used set in case it didn't work and they turned out perfect.
The steps are fine, but the 5 stars are for your customer service! I really appreciated the free shipping - as the item is HEAVY - and the speed of the delivery! Sadly, now I have to sit in the snow and repair my camper… . Perhaps I will wait for spring. Thank you!
Everything fit but had to struggle with it a little bit as the bolt hole was slightly off. Got it together none the less and it works great.
The product was excellent and an exact match to what was already on the travel trailer. 5 stars to etrailer and great service.

Since my last review of this product, due to an accident, I have purchased another set. Installation was simple and the steps work great.
It was exactly what I needed. Everything lined up and was easily installed. The only suggestion I would have is to package differently. There were a few dings and scratches on the steps. Bubble wrap or putting the box in a box would have prevented that.
Everything went hreat
“Donna” was a big help in ordering these over the phone. We received our new stairs today-3 days earlier than expected! I already installed them…they fit perfectly and work great! Great quality product and wonderful customer service.
These are really well built stairs. There are different configurations, so make sure this exactly matches the bracket on your RV. I had to do some customization, but it was worth it because the other stair options didn't feel as solid as this.
Excellent product
Very quick delive ry
We have a bunkhouse Cruiser Aire. My wife had polio as a young girl and has problems getting up and down stairs, She is 72 and it became near impossible for her to access the RV. I built her some stairs from lumber and they worked alright, But it also gave me some added chores with a lot of straining to move them from the back to the door for her at every stop. I was absolutely surprised when I discovered the lippert steps with the shorter 6.5" rise. Believe me rise in steps is extremely important to handicapped people. These new steps have given new meaning to access for her. We are very happy we found Lippert steps through E-Trailer! We are going to buy another set next year for the rear door of the trailer. Great customer service and fast shipping! Glad your here!

Hey, I am sorry that the steps did not work for ya. When measuring for steps what you would need to do is find the space under the camper that lines up with the door frame. Then measure both the width and the depth. You will need a space that is at least 27.5 inches wide and 12 inches deep.
It fit very well and shipped quickly.
We ordered new steps from etrailer for our 5th wheel when the metal tore on one side of our existing steps. We had done our homework - checked others sites. The difference - etrailer had the replacement steps in stock at a better price than most and answered my questions. The steps arrived as promised. Instructions were clear and the install was easy. I was able to do it without help.
The steps on the 2014 Winnebago travel trailer had rusted-out due to the spring-loaded pieces of grey non skid carpet always being wet in the stowed position. This replacement was a very simple bolt in with a good fitting bolt pattern and easy fold out operation. Of course you should stay on top of it with a little touch-up paint here and there cuz it's going to want the rust in the hinges and wear points but that is to be expected. Good product and I would recommend it
Do you have a question about this RV and Camper Step?

We have not used the steps on our newer 5th wheel because the steps are about a 14 too wide for the doorway. I still would recomend the Solid Step for anyone wanting to to upgrade their entrance steps. They are have a greater tread depth than most standard steps. They are more stable seeing as they are contacting the ground.
