Today we're going to review part number S-150. This is the Stromberg Carlson Adjustable-Height, Folding Platform Step. Steel finish in a 300 pound weight capacity. Now this step stool will give you the extra height you need to get into hard-to-reach areas. It's perfect for use as a starter step when entering or leaving your RV. It does have the adjustable legs on the bottom, have 2 height positions.
Basically, if they're folded in like this, they would set right on here and give you 4 inches in height. If you pop the legs out, just pop them open like this. When you fold them in it gives you a nice simple storage. It does have a nice high-grade, powder coated steel finish that'll helps resists rust and corrosion. Again, the dimensions on this. The length is 24 inches. The width would be 16 inches. Again, the step height with it in the open, legs in the open position is going to be right at 8 inches tall.
When you drop them under, it'd be 4 inches tall. Now, the weight capacity on this is 300 pounds. It does come with a one year warranty. I just want to show you again how these legs would drop down. Fold them down.

Give yourself a boost with this powder coated steel step. The non-skid step surface provides grip so you can safely get on and off the platform. Height adjusts from 4" to 8".Arrived in good time. Although made of steel, it's very manageable to lift compared to a wood platform I had to build for my disabled brother and dad to get in and out of our 4x4 SUV. We needed a larger platform so I ordered two of these. Pros: Easy to lift and put in and out of car. Legs are angled out so if a person steps at the edge of the platform it doesn't tilt as a straight leg would and is still stable on flat ground. Cons: It was rusty at the joints, out of the box. The legs don't lock, you have to be sure you check the legs are pulled out or it will collapse when stepped on. Weird there's no click or lock for this. The rubber feet, like many others, have stated, easily come off and one of the two boxes didn't even have the rubber tips. I glued the rubber to the metal as soon as I got a chance so I wouldn't lose it. And contacted customer service on chat and they are sending me out the missing pieces. I'm not sure if the platform was assembled correctly as there is a pin looking part at each leg but it doesn't appear to have a function that I can tell. Customer service has always been excellent over the years from etrailer so I would purchase again as I don't have many options for what I needed and I trust they are there when I need them. As for the rust spots, I'll use some rustoleum spray and try to stop the rust and never plan to leave it in the rain.
I ordered this step initially last fall, for our toy hauler that we frequently park on variable height sites. It works great, it’s sturdy and adjustable. I just wish I had been on the ball enough to order a second one for the back door right away! I got this one so we don’t have to move a step and don’t have to struggle to get in the other door. We love this step!
This step has served us well. Non skid surface for safety, folds compact, but is large enough for safe entry to our camper. After a year, it still looks like new. Great value, fit our needs. Ordering, shipping, and follow-up was super.(We bolted on a pipe cap to raise it to the height we needed. There is a hole in the bottom of each leg)
Steve C - 02/17/2021I've been looking for a quality, collapsible step to use with our RV for a very long time and I finally found it! We were using a step made of wood and the Carlson step is far superior! The Carlson step collapses to a very handy size, it is deeper than the wooden step it replaces by about 50%, it is far more stable, the dog won't chew on it, and it has a non skid surface. Excellent product and I do highly recommend it.
William - 12/14/2015Needed a step to help entry and exit of my enclosed car trailer. Attached steps are prone to dragging plus the cost is more for a quality step. This portable step is sturdy, a reasonable price, and fits my need perfectly.

It’s ok Solid footing and very non-skid surface Only complaint is the rubber foot pads aren’t fastened on and got lost on first trip.
Very please with this step. Only one complaint, It looses the rubber "shoes" all the time. I am thinking about gluing the on.

I bought this for my RV when we park on a high area and I need an extra step, I bought for the size, non skid step BUT the adjustable leg is NOT what I expected. It only has the flat legs or 8 inch leg. I needed adjustments on all legs so I could fit it to a non level space! I’m outta time as we are leaving soon so I’ll do the best I can to make it work.

This looks like it will suit my needs perfectly and is well constructed.
The folding platform step I received has three problems. The most minor problem was one of the bolts/nuts that attached to one of the legs was loose. I fixed it easily enough. Then I picked it up to carry it into the garage to see how it worked with my camper. The underside has two channels that make it easy to hold, which led to problem number 2. The side I grabbed had not been smoothed so now I had a nice slice in one of my fingers. The opposite side was smooth and properly finished but not the side I grabbed. Finally, after putting a bandage on my finger, I got to the garage and put it on the concrete floor. Much to my dismay it wobbled. One leg was shorter than the other three. Enough is enough, so back it goes.
Perfect for what I needed it for, as entry step for new RV. Super fast order fulfillment and shipping.

Really like the step. Solid,well built. Would give product a five star except the rubber pads on feet kept coming off. Tried several different types of glue but nothing seems to last
The step is sturdy and solidly made. Being adjustable will make it useful for a variety of camping sites.I just wish I had gotten it in time to use it this camping season. Can’t wait to try it out next year!

Edward E - 11/27/2021Greatest step...also just to let u know how sturdy it is...I ran over it w my 20' RV with back tire ...the step's foldable foot was shoved into the ground And just slightly bent but still completely useable...my next big trip I left it at a road side park..needless to say I was sick I didn't get it back...sooo I'm ordering another and I'm making a check list taped to my RV so I know I have everything before I take off....
Deb - 10/17/2017Decent step with a decent price we're all in all happy with the results for our RV. It will give you an extra 8 inches of height and a large non skid step.
Product is as advertised, sturdy, well made, works perfectly as a step outside my motorhome.
