Is this right For you? Product Expert Kathleen M says:

Yes, if you:

  • Like the modular design that allows you to remove or add a single step if you need more or less height or if a step gets damaged
  • Struggle with the diving board effect of other steps that don't make contact with the ground, especially if you have bad knees or distrustful pets
  • Have an entry height (distance from the ground to the mounting point) of about 46-1/2" - 60" and a mounting place that's at least 25-1/2" by 14"

No, if you:

  • Don't have a cutout under the door for these to fit into and need steps that just attach to the side of your camper
  • Prefer the steps that store inside the door to keep them out of the elements
  • Need the wider (27-1/2") style to fit your cutout
8" Deep x 19" wide aluminum RV steps have an easy-to-use lever that lets you change between 3 height settings for proper elevation. Fine-tune height and level stairs with built-in landing gear legs. Glow tape creates a lighted step surface. Lowest Prices for the best rv and camper steps from TorkLift. Revolutionary Stability

TorkLift's GlowStep Revolution RV steps offer the ultimate in stability and adjustability. You can adjust the stairs' height to account for any type of terrain using the easy-to-use release lever. The built-in landing gear legs let you fine-tune the height. And they can be adjusted independently of one another to stabilize the steps on uneven terrain, eliminating any wobble.

Will Torklift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps Work for You?

Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The GlowStep Revolution pull-out steps from Torklift are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.

Revolution Mounting

The GlowStep Revolution pull-out scissor steps attach to the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the doorframe, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 25-1/2" wide and 13-7/8" deep.

If it turns out you have more space beneath your doorway, there are larger step assemblies available with 27-1/2" wide brackets. A full list of the available steps is below.

Outrigger RV Steps

Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.

Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.

How Many Steps Do You Need?

Revolution Entry Height

To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.

The chart below displays entry height measurement ranges in the first column. If you determined you need a 25-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a 27-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.

This page's step assembly is in bold text.

How Do You Install the Steps?

To install the steps:

  1. Make sure the camper is level on flat ground
  2. Lift the steps into the mounting space and prop into place

-Fully extend steps until feet touch the ground

  3. If needed, mark the mounting holes on the camper and drill

    -Set aside steps before drilling

  4. If needed, install the outriggers
  5. Align step mounting holes and secure in place with carriage bolts and flange lock nuts

-Make sure the bracket is backed up fully against the I-beam on the chassis

    -Hardware not included

  6. Tighten hardware until snug
  7. Make sure assembly is sitting square and level
  8. Torque the hardware tight

GlowStep Accessories

Torklift Accessories

Add any of these accessories to your Revolution scissor steps for stability, eliminating gaps, and keeping your steps and RV interior clean. The GlowGuide handrail (TLA7621 - sold separately) attaches to the outside of your RV and a bracket on the bottom of the steps. This helps to steady the assembly and adds 25 lbs to the weight capacity of the stairs. The SafeStep vinyl barrier (TLA7602 - sold separately) easily fastens with Velcro strips in between any 2 steps. This prevents you or your pets from accidentally slipping between steps. The DirtDestroyer boot brush (TLA7603 - sold separately) affixes to the bottom of the steps so you can scrape your shoes before climbing into your RV.

Video Transcript for TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Steps Review

Today we'll be taking a look at the Torque Lift Glowstep Revolution Scissor Steps with landing gear. Now, what sets these apart from other manufacturers' steps, or the factory steps on your fifth wheel, or your travel trailer, is that these offer the ultimate in stability and security and safety, for when you're traveling up them into your trailer. Now, we're getting this extra stability and safety because our steps are making contact with the ground with our built-in landing gear, right here. The main reason the factory steps are lacking on most fifth wheels or travel trailers is that we don't have a landing gear here that makes our bottom step have contact with the ground. That makes it very unstable when we're getting in and out of the trailer. When you initially step on your factory ones that don't have them, you can see how much they move and how unstable they are. I'm not a big guy. You can see that I'm getting about two inches deflection just stepping on to them. Now, our landing gear have five settings to adjust for uneven terrain.

We can adjust these independently from each other. Between our five holes, from the bottom one, all the way to the top one, we have a total adjustment range of 3". To adjust, simply push on the pin and pull on down until you get the proper height setting that you need. To go on up, it's the same way. Push and push it on up. Now, these steps, being manufactured out of a lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum, they are extremely easy to handle, maneuver, put in and out of the stored position.

Also, they are extremely rust-resistant. Simply lift up on the bottom step and start pushing it on in. Use your knees, or your thigh to help raise it. Lift up on the latch. Push on in. Slides in place and locks on down.

Then, we take our pin to secure it so our latch mechanism cannot be moved and our steps are fully stored inside the RV. By simply pulling the pin, lifting up the handle and pulling out by the top step, it comes on out. Then, you grab it by the bottom, pull it on out, sit it down on the ground. When we we're referring to the adjustable base, that refers to our top step here. There are three settings. We have our low setting here. Our medium setting there.

Our high setting here. To make life even safer, when night falls on our campground, our steps have two glow-in-the-dark corners on each step, which will glow for up to ten hours with only five minutes of sun exposure. Each one of our steps has this built-in sure-grip traction surface. So, if we have wet feet, we don't have to worry about slipping on our steps. Now, we'll measure our steps to see how big they are. Looking at 22 1/2" wide by 8" deep. That gives us plenty of surface area to easily and safely walk up and down the steps. These steps are rated up to 350 pounds, depending on your model. These are a great replacement for your old, unstable, factory steps. You will have to unbolt those. Then, bolt your new Glowsteps in place. That completes our look at the torque lift Glowstep Revolution Scissor Steps with landing gear.

Great product but was damaged during shipping. The unlock mechanism was bent and I spent a extra 2 hours straightening the device. If you are going to ship it in a weak box, put some steel protection around this area.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

We had gotten tired of the retractable steps that came with our camper. The rivets were always breaking and it always felt bouncy when you stepped on them. We thought about the fold in kind of steps, but didn't like the idea of whatever was on the steps getting inside the camper. Found the revolution scissor steps online and bought them. They were pretty easy to install. just unbolted the old ones and with a long socket extension bolted the new ones in place. We used them all last season and are now out again this camping season. I really like that they adjust for differing ground heights and they always feel solid when we use them. We are very pleased with them.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

I installed the steps on a 2019 Grand Design Reflection 311BHS. I was very pleased how easy it was to remove the old steps and install these new steps. I used the one person method described in the owners manual that came with the steps. Very easy. Being set on the ground will make these steps more stable, then the factory installed steps. I was also very impressed with etrailer. The steps were shipped the same day that I placed the order. I received them in a short period of time. I have always been impressed with ordering things from etrailer.

Installation - husband and wife over 60 were able to remove old steps and install new one in just over an hour!! We were able to install using a small floor jack at our RV storage area. Probably would have been easier to install in our driveway and not on the dirt. Just so excited to get rid of the old saggy steps.

Comments
Excellent - cant say enough good things about these steps. So easy to take down and our away sturdy going up and down easy to see at night - but most of all, our 2 3 legged rescue dogs have no problem going up and down these stairs. So glad we found them!!

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

The entire step purchase was Great ! Order arrived quickly and was packaged very well. The installation was on our lance 2285 and couldn’t have been any easier. After removing the old the install took 5 minutes. No drilling or modification needed , 4 bolts lined up perfectly. Quality of the steps was second to none. We originally purchased a step that lifted into doorway , halfway through the install realized entry screen door needed modifying , didn’t like that idea. Also did not care for steps folding into camper. Returned to vendor and purchased the Tork Lift Revolution from etrailer and couldn’t be happier with new steps.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

I wanted stairs that are strong, reliable, and useful everywhere I might need them (or not). Fold-out and SolidStep designs both require too much compromise. Fold-outs can be used anywhere, but aren't strong and stable. SolidSteps are strong and stable, but don't work with tight parking or sharp slopes (like the steep shoulder of a causeway when you're parked in an emergency), and they block your door if you don't open them. Anything that blocks access under unknown conditions is a deal-breaker.

The GlowStep Revolution was the most expensive option, but it's the only one that met all my requirements. They're strong and stable, supported by the ground, flexible for height and uneven terrain, with a high weight rating, and they fold into the space under the door. They do this while being slightly lighter and smaller than my original stairs. I'd never seen this "accordion" style before. It feels a little weird, but it's fast and easy. I won't have any trouble training my family.

They're more expensive than other options, but if they are as reliable as the manufacturer says, then they'll be worth every penny.

My installation required the additional A8022 bracket.

Comments
These are still working great on my trailer. My family appreciates the stability of our stairs everywhere we go. Unfortunately, if the ground slopes wrong, I wish I had the 4th step. Fortunately, the design is modular, so I can add it when were ready. I am glad I bought these over any other option.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Bought a new Lance RV, Model 1995. The steps were horrible. Installed the Glowstep Revolution steps and it made a world of difference. I installed them myself in under an hour following the instructions and using a small jack to hold the frame up while I bolted the steps to my RV. Had to use the two enclosed spacers but the installation was a cinch. Couldn't be happier with the steps and with the assistance from etrailer which is a great company with terrific support.

Installed in less than a half hour!!
One
thing I would recommend, is to not take the unit apart as the instructions tell you to.
Simply use a floor jack with a 2x4 on top of it to lower down your old unit and raise the new unit will save much time--not taking your brand new unit apart!!
Also if you have pets installing carpet on the steps will save their feet from getting burnt in the summertime-that aluminum is going to get very very hot

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

After on year of use I am 100% satisfied with my Torkkift Glowstep.Installation was straightforward, required no modification and I was able to do it myself in less than an hour. With two people I could have done it in less than 30 minutes. The steps are solid to walk on and make going in and out of my 5th wheel much easier then the OEM stairs that came with the camper (2014 Crossroads Cruiser). Like any new install, there is a short learning curve in deploying the stairs, but after a few test runs it became second nature knowing where to lock the stairs in place and stretching the stairs out. I like having the ability to adjust my deployments if necessary depending on the ground levelness and incline/decline needed. Also being able to adjust the landing gear is great when needed. I chose Torklift Glowstep because the install was plug-n-play where my OEM stairs were installed. Competing RV stair makers are good products as well, but I didn't like the idea of the stairs folding up into the cabin when not in use. Whatever is on the stairs at the time of putting them away goes in your cabin whether it's dirt and dust/pollen or water from rain. Torklift Glowstep is an awesome upgrade to my camper and I wish every upgrade was as simple to install and use as this product. I would share photos and videos, but my camper is in storage at the moment.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

We are extremely pleased with the Torklift Glowstep Revolution (TLA8004). It is solidly built, easy to install, easy to operate, and a suitable price!

We are also extremely pleased with etrailer's customer service! Upon receipt of the new steps, we immediately noticed that one of the landing feet and one of the guide pins were bent. The shipping box did not show the type of damage that could have caused the problem.

I emailed etrailer, and within 24 hours they had gotten back to me and the replacement parts would be shipped shortly. This was all during the height of the COVID-19 virus shutdowns. About 7 days later the parts arrived and within 15 minutes I had the damaged parts replaced.

I am grateful for both etrailer and Torklift customer service. Both are exceptional!

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Love these steps for several reasons:
1.
Easy to install
2. Stay outside. No dirt and water inside like other stability steps
3. Helps stabilize the camper bounce
4. Can change the size by removing or adding a step when you change rigs.
And service from e-trailer was fast when we needed to add a step when we upgraded our TT.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

This is the second Glow that Step we have purchased for two different trailers. The factory "bouncy" that come with most travel trailers are terrible and a waste of steel. The Glow Step is a very well made in USA product that has unlimited adjustments and always is solid on the ground when deployed. We have two Labrador retrievers That actually climb the steps without any problems. We can see the steps at night and when traveling they stow up nice and tight.

I bought the Glowstep revolution four step with landing gear.. I could not be more satisfied... took about 1hour to install by myself with the help of a floor jack, that includes removing the old steps..!! Delivery from etrailer.com was fast and free shipping.. great company to deal with.. I have included a couple of pictures of my new steps.. we love them..

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Great product that was extremely easy to install! Having the extra step will make using our 5th wheel even more enjoyable as well as safer. Steps are rock solid without the bounce of the original steps.

Original steps were not very solid and the first step was often too high, making entry more difficult.... especially with bad knees!

I'm sure our two Beagles will love them too!

Comments
After using the steps for a year ...... I am even more convinced that these steps are the best RV investment we ever made! They are so solid, easily adjustable and stable, I dont know why anyone would purchase anything else.....and yes I have tried the other brands!!

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Install was easy though I did have to drill two holes in the existing brackets to clear bolts on the steps. This is mentioned as a possibility in the directions. If doing the install alone take the steps off the frame as noted in the directions for ease of install. Steps are sturdy as shown in numerous videos. The adjustments are easy for both the top and bottom. The only thing I'm wondering is if the two plastic catch doohickeys are supposed to be bent down as visible in the photos. I replaced a 3 step set with these because they were very bouncy and my old dog had a hard time negotiating the steep steps.

Comments
Everyone who sees and uses these steps love them. The two catch pieces were a bit bent but were easy to straighten and have caused no problems. After a year of use I would not hesitate to recommend these steps.

Really fast shipping. Easy install using two people. Took about 20 minutes max. Replaced existing three step unit on 2020 Grand Design 297 RSTS travel trailer. New steps are awesome and work so much better. Couldn't be happier with yet another great eTrailer purchase of an outstanding product!

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

We love the TorkLift Glow Step... Great quality... Well worth the money!
We replaced our old 3 step fold down with this TorkLift 4 Step model about a year ago. It was an easy install and took about an hour to take the old fold down steps off and install the new TorkLift steps.
These Steps are much more stable and really great for seniors! Our little Chi Weenie dog loves it too.. He would not even attempt to go up or down the old steps and we had to pick him up to put him in and out of the trailer... Now he just scampers up and down these new steps like he owns the place.. Which he does... :<)

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

We decided to replace our stock 3-step stairs when our older dog could no longer get up and down them. The bouncing was also beginning to get problematic as well. Our 5th wheel is stored in a tight spot, so the flip up stair replacement wasn't a viable option for us. Also, we often pick up groceries while on the road and like to put them inside the doorway until we arrive at a campsite, so having a set of steps in the way would be inconvenient. We decided to go with the Torklift Revolution, even though the cost was somewhat more. The installation was a breeze, with the new steps aligning perfectly with the mounting system for the original equipment. The entire process was completed in about an hour. We've tested them out by loading the trailer for an upcoming trip, and they set up easily and are very stable. Before and after pictures are attached.

So glad I did this! I procrastinated on this upgrade because I was uncertain how to make it fit my Lance 1995, but (silly me) it fit perfectly (with one spacer). I did have to create some holes in the trailer's bracket but with metal drill bits it was no problem. It is stable, it stows nicely, it will never rust, and it's fully adaptable to ground situations wherever we choose to camp.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

The Torklift Glowsteps are GREAT, but it took 2 weeks from the time I ordered them to install the steps. Don't let that scare you. I'm 68, was working by myself, and have been disabled for 29 years, and I doubt anyone else will experience all the difficulties I did to buy, have delivered, and install the steps. I measured according to Torklift and etrailer instructions, and ordered the 4-step, 27 1/2-inch frame TLA8004 from etrailer, because that was the width of the original steps' frame. I also ordered the TLA8022 Vertical Stud Adapter Kit. When the steps arrived, the UPS driver had the step box sitting on what was the top, because the bottom had become completely un-taped during shipment. The steps and their frame were still in the box, but the owner's manual, installation instructions, warranty card, and hardware kit were not. The Stud Adapter Kit was in its own separate box, and was intact. While the steps were here, using a wood platform I built, I lifted them up into our trailer's step well with a floor jack to check the fit. That's when the REAL nightmare began. We had an industry-standard 27 1/2-inch step frame on the original steps, but the manufacturer had placed both the vertical studs in the floor at a steep angle, instead of perfectly vertical. The factory had bent the original step brackets to make the original suspended steps fit the brackets. But the Glowstep frame fits MUCH higher up, next to the floor, and there was no way the 27 1/2-inch Glowstep frame was going to work with those angled studs and our narrow step well. So when they reshipped another set of steps, I asked etrailer to replace the steps with the TLA8104 4-step (same price), which has a 25 1/2-inch-wide frame. I also ordered the TLA8020 Spacer KIt to use with the TLA8104. Problems like the shipping snafu and the stud problem are why I deal with etrailer, and my previous order history with the company is about an arm's length! Hally C. , Lisa D., and John R. were all VERY helpful in helping me to resolve my problems. They contacted UPS to pick up the original steps at my home (after I repacked and solidly retaped the box). In 2 days, UPS picked up the original steps (I kept the stud adapter kit). Next day, UPS delivered another set of Glowsteps with 25 1/2-inch frame, this time with an etrailer box stapled COMPLETELY around the Glowsteps box, and VERY securely stapled with 111 BIG staples!! Then the fun began. Due to disabilities and medications I take I can't be exposed to high heat for long, or I will pass out and/or be unable to walk into the house to cool off, and our heat index in Central Texas has been running in the +100 degree range. Actual temperatures in our metal RV garage have been running 110-117 or more from noon to about midnight. I had to make some small modifications in order for the step frame to fit on the angled (non-) vertical studs on our trailer. I do NOT recommend anyone else modify ANYTHING. But I was determined to get us some premium steps that were easier to climb at our ages, and warranty was NOT one of my concerns. In our tight RV garage we CANNOT use the pivoting steps that store inside that are becoming popular. The Glowsteps were our only option, so I HAD to make them fit. These steps are built like a tank anyway, so I can't imagine ever needing the warranty, only insurance, if the steps are damaged by some outside force. I still had spacing difficulty, so I ended up having to straighten the factory-installed step brackets that the factory workers had bent, and drill them to match the mounting holes in the Glowstep frame. Then I had to paint the bare metal exposed by the work I had to do. When I finally finished all this, and jacked the step frame up into the step well, everything fit perfectly, and I had access to all the hardware. Tight clearance between our trailer side and the RV garage wall is the reason we could not consider the pivoting steps which pivot up and store inside the doorway, and I'm glad to say that even though we can't extend the Glowsteps out all the way due to the metal framing of the garage wall, the steps are rock solid and can be easily and safely used in just about any position. I have bad knees, and my wife has a bad hip, and the difference these steps make in allowing us easy entry and exit from our trailer is like the difference between night and day from the original shaky, suspended factory steps. My wife's sister and 94-year-old mother have their own trailer and camp with us, and even my M-I-L can easily get in and out of our trailer now, with the Glowsteps. She has never liked having to climb into our trailer with the original steps, even with a folding platform at the bottom. The "rise" on our steps was just too much for many of us. She does have to use the assist handle on the wall for balance with the Glowsteps, but she has to do that on any trailer, even my niece's 5th-wheel, which has the pivoting, store-inside-the-door steps. The Glowsteps are NOT inexpensive, and I had no idea of the trouble I was about to run into in installing them, due to the angled (non) vertical studs installed on our trailer at the factory, and the limited space in our enclosed step well. But now that the blood, sweat, and tears are behind me and the Glowsteps are installed, I don't think that my wife and I will EVER regret making this upgrade to our trailer, which is our preferred (and ONLY) recreation, that we've enjoyed immensely for 45 years! THANK YOU, ETRAILER, and THANK YOU, HALLY C., LISA D., AND JOHN R. YOU ARE LIFESAVERS!!

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Just installed the steps. Very easy process and good instructions. The steps seem to be very stable so far (on a level lot). Our dog went up and down much easier than with the previous steps (that came with our rig)

Comments
We love these steps! They are much more stable than the original steps that came with the trailer.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Ordered the product on Monday, installed it today. I had removed the old steps before UPS came and installed the new ones in about 20 minutes in my driveway. Definitely a quality product. Here are before and after pictures. The factory steps were damaged and unsafe, the new Glow steps are safe and sturdy.

Fantastic, I love these steps. They should come as an option on all new campers.

With the old steps removed, there will be a black metal mounting bracket that held the old steps. If yours measures...
