Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for several different models of vehicle. You can see on the screen there, all the vehicles that it will fit, including lots of your Chevrolet and GMC models. If you see your year make and model on the screen there, it's going to work for you.And it is modeled after the manufacturer's original look and fit, so you're really not going to be able to tell that this is a replacement mirror. It's going to look like it came with your vehicle, right from the factory.

You're not going to have to worry about it looking like you've pieced together parts from the junkyard or anything like that. So, going to integrate well and give you that nice finished look.Again, it does have the power remote capability, so you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle. It also has the heated mirror glass, it's going to clear your frost and ice, and help reduce fogging on those chilly mornings or days. It does have the red LED arrow in the mirror face that's going to light up when your turn signal is activated.Those are the high intensity Muth LEDs, so they're going to be brighter than your standard turn signal lights so it's going to be sure to catch the attention of those around you to make sure they're aware that you're turning or changing lanes, whatever the case may be. This also has the power folding capability so it's going to allow you to fold the mirror in if you're trying to get into a tight parking space or something like that, it'll help reduce the profile of your vehicle so that you can get into those smaller places.But it's also going to have the folding capability if it we're to be struck.

So, if you run into a pole, or your garage door or something like that, it's going to fold in on itself to try and help reduce the impact to the mirror and the housing itself so that you don't have as much breakage or damage along those lines. It does have the memory function, so it will use your car's memory to remember where to put the mirror position based on who's driving, the driver preferences.Now, keep in mind, all of those functionalities, the power remote capability, the heated mirror glass, the LED arrow and the folding technology, as well as the memory function, are only going to work if your vehicle is already capable of doing those things. So, if your original mirror could do it, this replacement mirror will be able to do it as well, but it will not add those functions if your vehicle does not already have that.A couple of things that this mirror does not have that your original might have been capable of, it does not have the puddle lamp on the bottom to light up underneath the mirror to see if there's puddles or anything there. And it also does not support the auto-dimming function, so if there's bright headlights behind you, those kind of things, it's not going to minimize that.So, might be a little bit less functionality than the original, but overall, I think it's going to be a great option for you. It is an OE grade, so it's got the SIM quality components as the original mirror that came with your vehicle from the factory.

The front of the glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so you're going to get a nice, clear image, and that is a convex lens, like most of your passenger side mirrors, so you're going to have that wide angle view to help reduce those blind spots.It is made of a very durable, textured black plastic housing. And we also have the chrome finish, as you can see. As far as the installation, it's going to be extremely simple. It's going to have the same footprint as your original mirror, so it's really just a matter of taking off the old mirror, putting this one in its place, plugging it in. If you have those power remote capability and different things that you're wanting to get going, plug that in in the exact same ports that the original plugged into, and you're ready to go.So very easy to get installed, should work very well for you.
