The Talon is the perfect solution for carrying a bike on your vehicle's roof if you don't already have a roof rack installed. Vacuum cups attach in seconds to the roof, trunk, or glass on your car, SUV, van, motorhome, or trailer. Because it doesn't require a permanent installation, the Talon is great for transporting your bike when you're traveling by rental car. And if you're worried that vacuum cups won't stay attached to your vehicle, you can rest assured because each vacuum cup provides 210 lbs of suction, giving you a total of 840 lbs of pull strength. Your bike isn't going anywhere! Additionally, the rack stores easily in your trunk or garage when not in use, or in your suitcase while traveling.
SeaSucker vacuum cups are designed to install on your vehicle without causing dents or scratches. They will attach to most non-porous surfaces including metal, glass, and fiberglass. Each 6" cup is rated to hold up to 210 lbs. The housing and plunger are constructed of durable plastic with rustproof stainless-steel hardware, and the rubber pad is UV resistant up to 5 years. The included Lube Tube lets you keep the plungers in working condition.
To install the rack, make sure the mounting surface is clean, moisten the surface of each cup, place the rack on your roof, trunk, or window glass, then press each plunger several times until the orange bands disappear. Depending on the surface they're mounted to and the load being put on them, suction in the cups will decrease over time. Make sure to check the plungers before you get into your vehicle. When you see the orange indicator bands show simply re-pump the plungers.
The crank arm strap prevents your pedal from hitting your roof and scratching your vehicle. Rotate your bike's crank arm parallel with the chain stay and wrap the hook-and-loop crank arm strap around both.
Place the rear vacuum cup where your rear tire sits, pump the plunger until the orange bands disappear, then wrap the hook-and-loop strap around the tire to secure it in place. The strap is 22" long so it will easily accommodate a fat bike tire.
To break the seal on each cup and remove the rack from your vehicle, simply pull the T-shaped tabs up and towards the center of the cups - it's that easy. Remove the body and rear vacuum cup and store them in your trunk or garage, or put them in a storage bag or suitcase to take with you.
The Talon can be used with 9-mm quick-release plugs and skewer (sold separately). For different axle sizes, you can easily swap out the following plugs (sold separately) to accommodate your bike's front hub:
The Talon is made of a high-density polyethylene that is strong, durable, and weather-resistant. The 3/4" thick plank is strong enough to hold a bike of any size or style, yet flexible enough to contour to the shape of your vehicle. The fork mount is made from solid steel and has a black powder coat to prevent corrosion. HUSKE plugs are made of durable plastic.
If you don't have room in your vehicle to store your front tires, you can use a Hogg (298BA1580 - sold separately) with each bike to mount the tire to your bike's rear-wheel axle. You can also use a Flight Deck (298-BV1022 - sold separately) with each bike, which replaces the rear vacuum cup with a dual mount so you can attach your front wheel next to your rear wheel.

Upon opening the box I observed that the covers for the suction pads had come loose during shipping. Probably not an issue.
The instructions for assembly and mounting were clear and easy to follow.
I planned to secure the cups to the glass roof on my VW. So, I thought it would be best to clean the glass and roof with auto detailing spray. After doing that I attached the carrier and gave it a prett y good shake.
I have attached three photographs that may add clarity.
I'm very optimistic. This may be the best carrier I've had for my bicycle.
Keep Eager.
I received delivery and setup.
I seem to be able to connect my road bike wheel with quick release - but not my road disc bike with thru-axle. Do I need an accessory for thru axle bike?
Your product is still working great. It’s on top of a fiberglass truck top. Speeds up to 75 mph. It’s a heavy hybrid Fugi. Well I do lose some suction in one of the cups but not much. I’m always able to pump it back up. Sorry I can provide a picture at this time.
So far, so good!
I just got mine today but won't use it till the weekend... it was hard to find as it was backordered until forever on [online retailer] so I bought it from etrailer which was great because I HATE [online retailer] so there's that...
These guys are awesome, they emailed me to ask if I got it okay within a couple of hours of it arriving! I mean, who does that. Great job!
So don't buy from [online retailer]... it was cheaper from these guys.
The thing arrived in great condition and ahead of time and looks awesome... can't wait till the weekend to go off for a bike ride.
Extremely well constructed, easy to assemble and attaches to vehicle perfectly. With a bike loaded on, it's rock solid. Well thought out and engineered product,
