ForkLift breaks new ground for Yakima when it comes to fork-mount bike carriers, attaching directly to factory, round, aero, and square crossbars right out of the box. If you need a roof-mounted bike carrier, ForkLift meets all your needs with little concern for compatibility.

adjustable front mount - skewer removedadjustable rear mount

To fit factory, round, aero, and square crossbars, Yakima designed the fork block and rear mount to be fully adjustable. The claw of each mount removes and repositions in one of three grooves, adapting to the size of your crossbars for a snug fit.

locking skewer closedlocking skewer is open position showing the red adjustment knob

The ForkLift provides a safe mounting point for your bike with an SKS-lockable skewer, which features an integrated adjustment knob. Opening the skewer end shows the red adjustment knob which tightens (or loosens) the hold on the bike fork. The adjustment knob is hidden when you close the end of the skewer. The end of the skewer can be also be locked closed with an SKS core. This will lock your bike to the bike carrier, and secures the bike carrier to the roof rack crossbars.

rear wheel traywheel mounted in tray

An easy-to-adjust, sliding wheel tray adds to the compatibility of the ForkLift. The wheel tray positions easily and includes a ratcheting strap to hold the rear wheel securely in place.

This carrier holds a wide range of bikes, including most bikes with disc brakes.

ForkLift installs with no tools, tightening over your crossbars with adjustment knobs and T-bolts.

The sleek design and automotive finish look great on your vehicle, and the lightweight, sturdy steel construction ensures durability.

Good product. However, the one I ordered was supposed to fit the aero cross bars on 2018 Subaru roof racks and it doesn't. In fact the fit is very sloppy and looks unsafe. Sending mine back if they can't find a clamp that fullly contacts all surfaces.

This forklift roof mounted bike carrier part Y02098 will fit most factory bars. The factory bars have to be no wider than 3-7/8 inches wide and 1-7/8 inches tall.

by:

Yep - exactly what I ordered. Instructions included are very thorough. The bike carrier arrived with some box damage but was in perfect condition. Includes everything but the locking cylinder for the skewer (for obvious reasons). I appreciate the clear instructions on how to assemble it all together. Haven't put it on my Yakima rack yet but I know it's straightforward. Can't wait to put the carrier into service!

by:

Great bike rack that is not overly bulky.
It was easy to install and matches my roof rack perfectly.

Still works great!

I’ve been using etrailer for years now. Four self installed and one at their shop in Wentzville, MO. Love the assistance for the do it yourselfer. Thanks etrailer!

Fits my whispbar crossbars (a lot cheaper than the whispbar-specific rack) and is pretty simple and straightforward to use. I've owned a couple of other universal sort of racks (fit lots of bikes, fit lots of crossbars) and this one is a good one both in terms of simple initial installation on your vehicle and also simple loading/unloading of bike.

The bike rack in question is still getting the job done very well - thanks

by:

Once I figured out that my factory crossbars *could be moved* everything worked (2009 Subaru Outback). If you happen to have fixed position crossbars, and your bike's wheelbase just happens to place the rear wheel exactly in the middle of the rear clamp, then it won't work (even if you get the free fix). The rear tire ratcheting tie down (wheel tray) can't be placed suitably close to the rear wheel for buckling.

Also, the clamps don't *exactly* match the shape of my crossbars, so the gripping force is not spread out. I need a notch between the upper and middle notches, or a rubbery, compressible surface.

by:

Love this bike rack. Easy to mount (took it off for the snowy winter months), but it is still very secure. Reasonably priced for good quality.

by:

This is a great roof rack, easy to install and mount a bike. Transported my bike from Michigan to Florida and back.

by:

Great product, seems really solid. This is the bike rack to use with these rack systems, it's great! Super quick delivery from etrailer!

by:

these racks arrived in 2 days with free shipping. the racks were very easy to install and look good. the videos of the installations on specific car models were very helpful.

by:

Front mount is hard to turn.

by:

Perfect for my application. Yakima makes a very nicely engineered product.

by:

The clamps fit factory oval cross bars. No adapters necessary. Setup on my 04 Outback took 20 minutes.

by:

My order is missing the locking skewer, i spoke with Nicholas, in customer service, and he is going to get me a replacement part ASAP.

by:

Love this product!

Good quality, excellent service

See what our Experts say about this Yakima Roof Bike Racks

  • Will the Yakima Boa Bike Rack Fit a Yakima Roof Rack on a 2002 Toyota Corolla Sedan
For the Yakima Boa bike rack to work properly, the crossbar spread will need to be between 32 and 50 inches. Bar spread is measured from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. For a Yakima roof rack on a 2002 Toyota Corolla sedan the bar spread is 30 inches. You will not want to move the bars because the components that make up the roof rack are designed to fit in a specific location on the vehicle. If moved it can compromise fit and damage the vehicle. I recommend...

If you have an a-frame type trailer frame a great option for transporting bikes is the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk # CC-275. This bolts on to a trailer's frame and fits frames from 14- to 55-inches wide. It provides a 2-inch receiver opening that can accept an RV-rated 2-inch bike rack. RV-rated bike racks are shown on the linked page. Please note that you cannot use a standard car bike rack on a trailer, it must be rated for RV's. Unfortunately, this hitch is not a fit for your 1998 Escort Wagon. We do not have a trailer hitch that will work with your vehicle. I attached review videos for both racks for you to check out as well.

  • Options for Carrying 5 Bikes and Yakima Skybox 21 on 2008 Honda Odyssey with Factory Crossbars
My personal recommendation would be to invest in a five bike carrier like the Thule Apex XT, # TH9026XT. Although it does not have the swing feature like your current SwingDaddy, the XT has a tilting mast which will allow you to access your rear cargo area when bikes are unloaded and, in my opinion, is much easier to load than putting one additional bike on the roof. If you are still interested in securing the additional bike to the roof rack adjacent to your Yakima Skybox 21 Cargo Box,...

It does look like a Swagman bike rack like the Trailhead # S63380 will be compatible with the Class I hitch and the Yakima HitchSki # Y02418 since the cradles are adjustable along the arms of the bike rack. Yakima only rates their 4-bike racks for up to Class II hitches so you wouldn't be able to use a Yakima rack in your instance as there are only Class I hitches that fit your 2022 Kia Soul. • Fitting Roof Cargo Box with Two Roof Bike Racks on 1997 Toyota 4Runner
It looks like your Yakima 2-bike rack is too long to allow a roof cargo box to fit behind it.
