The Motion XT XXL has 22 cu ft of storage space for golf bags, luggage, skis, snowboards, and other gear. The aerodynamic, low-profile design helps to reduce drag and wind noise, and the locking lid conveniently opens from either side of your vehicle. The box has internal tie-down points for securing cargo, and the PowerClick mounting system offers easy, tool-free installation.
This cargo box is constructed of durable ABS plastic that is lightweight yet rigid and impact resistant. It has a glossy silver, gel-coat finish that is stylish and less susceptible to chips, scratches, and harsh UV rays when compared with paint.
The Motion XT XXL features a dual-side-opening lid so you can load and access your gear from either side of your vehicle. Integrated, grip-friendly handles help you easily open and close the lid even with one hand. The lid has lifters that ensure it opens and closes smoothly. There is also a convenient pull cord on the inside that helps you close the lid.
The cargo box has SlideLock locks on each side of the lid. These locks have built-in indicators that let you know if the box is properly latched. The keys cannot be removed from the locks unless the lid is closed and locked. This prevents you from driving with an open or unlocked lid. The locks include Thule One-Key-System cores so you can swap them out to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike.
The box can be mounted on your vehicle in less than 5 minutes with the PowerClick mounting system. These clamps adjust along tracks in the floor of the box to accommodate different crossbar spreads.
To install the box, set it on your roof rack and center the clamps over your crossbars. Then simply turn the dials to tighten the clamps around the bars. The dials click when the clamps are secure.
The PowerClick assemblies on the inside of the box have fixed anchor points for securing your cargo. Just loop the included cargo straps through the anchor points and pull the straps tight to secure your gear.

Durable ABS plastic construction.We recently completed our first trip with this cargo box (Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 22 cu. ft.). We used OEM rails and crossbars on our 2020 Honda Odyssey and didn't need anything additional (sound dampening, etc.). We installed it all the way back on the rails, leaving the satellite radio antenna to still work, and there was plenty of clearance for the rear door to open.
We made sure to keep to the weight limits of both the vehicle, and the cargo box. It certainly is a two person job to put up and take down. Using the OEM brackets to hold the box to the roof was quite easy, and secure. The box fared fine at speeds of up to 100MPH (closed course), with no issues.
The only down side and it's not so much the product, but the seller, is the waiting time (a couple months), but we could afford to wait, so we saved on the shipping cost. We're glad we purchased this.

The packaging was extremely damaged and there was an inch long dent near the front on the top. I work in logistics and understand that objects this size have a higher chance of arriving with blemishes so I pushed out the dent and peeled off the protective plastic which revealed only minor discoloration where dent was. Other than that, everything else was good to go and the very minor blemish is so high up when mounted on my van that it is impossible to see. This is my second clutch order from etrailer.com and they met my time crunch both times, allowing us to execute our plans. Highly recommend.

I have bought a few things from small 10.00 items to 1,000 items and they have seem very customer focused on all of them, making them my first choice in travel cargo or hitch needs.
Delivery person initial D. did not call, did not ring bell, did not wait for me to check product, or sign for it. He just left it on my front walkway sometime this morning, and drove away.
T-force had told me by phone when we set up the drop off time he'd do all those things with his delivery, he did none of them. I walked outside later today and there it was.
The product itself seems fine this time, the last two had been wrecked in transit and were sent back. etrailer is a great company with great customer service. Their shipper of choice is awful.

This company is freaking awesome!! Instant responses from Paul who was so very helpful. My order was lost and took awhile to get here but they did an excellent job communicating.. it's free shipping!!! For freight!! So no complaints if it takes longer.. cost nearly 200 bucks more to order from Thule!!
My overall rating is just a fraction less than a full 5 stars. Everything to do with etrailer was exceptional! Website and ordering were easy. My color wasn't immediately available and other options were suggested for quicker lead time.
The order was filled and shipped promptly.
Shipping was a bit lethargic but it was Christmas time. Freight was good about contacting me before delivery. Shipping box was a bit damaged. Only real complaint was unit showed up with minor cosmetic blemishes. Not full scratches but spots where it had rubbed during shipping.
Unit installed just as described, extremely easy.
Now a week into using...
Looks great and lots of extra storage area for ??, tire chains, emergency kit, extra blanket, etc...
Wifey says she can feel it while driving on the highway. Also, opening and loading is a bit tricky for her, she's 5' 5"
Preformed well loaded with tools and gear traveling from PA to Colorado and two-week return trip on back roads along western and northern usa.
It was delivered with some scratches on it but I love it put it on without much trouble took two men and about 15 minutes just the right size glade I when big
TLDR; I'm an etrailer customer for life! Hands down best customer service of any company I've ever worked with.
The Thule Motion XT is exactly as described. I have a 2017 Subaru Outback and it fits beautifully. At first I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to open the tailgate, but after a bit of playing around I discovered that the slots inside the carrier where you place the clamps are able to slide back and forth to allow you to move the carrier forward and back. This allowed plenty of clearance to open the tailgate. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.
The only minor complain is that the top of the carrier seems a bit flimsy, but this seems to be standard with all carriers of this type. Once the lid is closed and locked in place everything feels nice and sturdy. And if I'm being honest, if the lid was more substantial it would probably increase the weight significantly.
So far I give it a 10 out of 10!

Have rented boxes when I need them a few times, and they’re so handy to have on road trips. I decided to get one permanently, and this box has been great!! Had to rig up a place to store it, but that worked out fine.
