Rugged and built to last, this roof rack system from Exposed Racks is a perfect fit for your outdoor lifestyle and an excellent complement to your vehicle. Thanks to the incredibly simple, no-drill installation, you'll be carrying your rooftop tent and recreational equipment in no time.
This system includes click-in mounting points, which let you use accessories from Exposed Racks that make it easier to load up gear for your trips. Unlike channel mounted accessories on typical crossbars that use bolts, clamps, or knobs, these click-in accessories install in just a few seconds. They simply push into the mounting points and lock into place using push pins.
From load stops to paddle holders, these easy-to-use accessories ensure you can carry a wide variety of cargo. You can also adapt carriers and mounts from other brands so they can take advantage of these mounting points, using Exposed Rack's diverse selection of mounting plates. The plates have channels, similar to some crossbars, that allow you to mount your accessories directly to them. Once the accessory is installed on the plate, simply drop it into the bar's click-in mounting points. The rack also accommodates clamp-on carriers that are compatible with square crossbars.
This system installs over the roof of your vehicle. Using only hand tools, the brackets install to the raised side rails. Then, the weight distribution feet are screwed into the threaded holes on the bottom of each crossbar. Lastly, the crossbars are placed in the brackets and tightened down with the included hardware.

What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out the Exposed roof rack system, so this is gonna be square bars that mount onto your crossbar rails and it's gonna allow you to put more accessories up on your roof. We got some ski carriers on there today. Let's check out how it works. Now Exposed rack, roof rack system's gonna be inch and a quarter square two.
So that means inch a quarter here inch a quarter there on each flat side of the tube. Now it's gonna be black powder coat steel. So it's gonna hold up to rust and corrosion. If you wanna leave it on your vehicle at all times the elements aren't gonna bother it. It also has a weight capacity of 165 pounds.
So just keep that in mind with whatever you wanna load up here. Let's take a closer look at the bars and see that they are that square design, so there's no holes on top, so that's gonna keep any water from collecting on the inside. Another thing that's gonna help with wind noise is gonna be the end cap here. So it's not just an empty bar. It's gonna be closed off so that no rain can get in there from the top or even the sides.
The bars ,and brackets, and even the clamps are gonna have a sturdy steel design with a black powder coat finish. It'll hold up to those elements when you leave 'em up on your roof. It's got a Z bracket design that clamps down on the bars. So with the shims and the padding in there it's gonna not scratch up your cross rails either. So you have to put those in there to get that to fit on certain vehicles.
Each vehicle's a little bit different but there is protection there, so it's not just clamping down on the bar. There's several different versions of this roof bar kit, so make sure you get the right one for your vehicle and use our fit guide. Comparing this to some other roof racks, I mean, this works it's on there. Nice and tight. The clamp system's a little bit different. You see, how you can shake the whole vehicle back and forth. So there's no rattling or movement right there myself.I would probably look into maybe the N.O. or rhino rack options. It's more of an arrow bar design that's gonna work with more accessories and be quieter down the line. And you kind of get more for what you're getting here in this system, but this is still gonna work if you have some clamp on systems that you just want to get on your roof. One thing we did notice on this one versus some of the other roof rack options is that sometimes the base kits have those parts that Mount right here on the bar those take up quite a bit of the bar, so it really limits you on where you can put the clamp on accessories. You can see this one that's plate is more right there towards the bar. It only adds a little bit to it so you don't have the big plastic end cap here that would be in the way that you would normally have. So that gives you a little bit more room to move those accessories towards the end, of course with Exposed racks there's other options. There's the other ones, the other bars that have the holes on the top that accept their specific accessories. Those are more for Jeeps or Broncos and that's a pretty cool design. I like that you can just drop in their accessories with the pushpin and it stays in place. If you already have those on another vehicle I would suggest getting the Exposed rack system with the holes up top. That way you don't have to buy all new accessories cuz that's kind of a pain. If you have to do that otherwise though I think this is gonna work, and I think that does it thanks for hanging out and I hope this helped..

I bought the ER rack for my 2011 2-door Jeep JK. It is high quality, sturdy, and very quick and simple to install or remove. I have used it to transport my windsurf board and mast 20 - 30 times at highway speed with no issues.
Rack spacing for a 2-door Jeep is 24 inches, which is adequate for my 9.6 ft board.
Note: I had to buy nuts and extra spacers to bolt the front rack to my Jeep frame. Since I bought the Jeep used, it's possible that some pieces had been removed from the rollbar.

From Md zig zagging across the country, down to the keys. No problems. Kept the straps tight with 2 Hobie kayaks. Rode on rough roads with Jeep with kayaks on the roof without issues. Highly recommended.

The rear bar runs directly over the satellite antenna and interferes with the signal. Pins instead of bolts to hold them in the mounting brackets would be better so the bars can be removed when on in use.

etrailer always ships quickly and I've ordered from them multiple times. In this case, some of the hardware was missing from the original shipment (from the manufacturer). etrailer quickly responded and got me the parts I needed in less than a week, and the new roof rack looks great.

Did not come with the nuts and bolts to assemble. Using temporary bolts until I can correctly size the right bolts.

They delivered 2 rear bracket packages instead of including the front and rear. So I’ve not been able to install it yet. I’m thinking of sending it back as o couldn’t put it on to use it when I wanted to. Sorry about that. But we were pretty disappointed

Easy install, perfect fit. Mounted my ski rack and was able to clear the garage door. It would not clear with the Thule load bars. the low profile is quieter too.

Excellent customer service. Mounting bolts were missing from the kit. Had them in two working days from emailing. Immediate response to email.

So far, so good. Just received these and they appear solid and beefy-they are heavier than most. The package they came in was mutilated and had obliviously been re-taped. Both of the cardboard tubes had their end caps blown out and the cross bars loose in the package probably caused the damage to the box. To their credit, only 1 of the plastic end caps showed slight damage. Both inner boxes containing the mounting brackets appeared to have been cut with a box cutter. The bolts used to connect the brackets to the crossbars were missing. I called customer service and was told replacements would be shipped. I have not yet received them and as such have not mounted the rack on my ‘21 Gladiator and cannot speak to the process or fit. UPS has done the testing on the finish and I’m happy to report the crossbars passed! I’m looking forward to the increased versatility these should provide.

Excellent customer service! My initial order arrived missing one of the two pieces shipped. The box the piece was shipped in seemed to have gotten mangled in transit and the piece was missing. I worked with the folks at etrailer and they promptly shipped me the part again…received it yesterday!

Everything that etrailer was involved in was awesome. Great communication. The only negative was the condition of the exterior box and how the carrier handled the package. The external and internal packing had been damages by the carrier.
