Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Fiat 500X we're going to be doing a test fit on the Inno Square Crossbar Roof Rack System. We'll be using part numbers INB127 for the 50 inch long steel black cross bars, part number INSUT for the Inno feet for the square cross bars for the naked roof of the Fiat, and finally part number INK482 for the custom fit kit. This Inno roof rack system is going to allow us to carry roof mounted accessories on our Fiat 500X. Things like bike racks, kayak carriers, roof mounted cargo baskets, and much more. It uses a square bar design. It's not going to be as quiet as your aerodynamic or elliptical style bar, but it's still going to carry your accessories safely and securely.Four feet hold our square bars in place. They feature a padding here at the base that way they don't harm or scratch the roof of our Fiat.
The four hooks are custom fit to work with our Fiat 500X. They too are rubber coated so they don't harm or scratch that finish. Now up here we do have an included locking system. If we take it off, it's going to hide that hardware that keeps our roof rack system intact and in place. By having a lock it's going to prevent anyone from removing it from our Fiat 500X's roof. Now the cross bars themselves are going to work with your standard clamp on accessories.
They are coated and they feature grooves on top for grip. That way our accessories do not slide along the cross bars. Now this roof rack system is constructed out of steel, so it's going to have a higher weight capacity at 220 pounds total. But you do however want to check with your Fiat 500X's owner's manual to see if your roof can support that much weight. Now we'll give you some dimensions. This can help you when carrying those clamp on accessories or when parking in your garage.
From the top of the roof to the underside of the bar is going to be about three inches. From the top of the roof to the top of the bar is going to be about four inches. Now that we've gone over the features I'll go ahead and show you how to get them installed. I've already got the front square cross bar installed on our Fiat. Per our instructions we took a measurement from the center of our two doors, measured to the center, and got our placement on both sides. Now the rear one installs very similar.
Let's go ahead and do it together. Now on the rear cross bar I've got one side set up, we just need to do the other side. We'll start off by taking our foot and installing it on the square bar. What we want to do is make sure our bolt is folded down all the way here. Then we're ready to line it up and slide it on. Once you've got it in place you'll want to squeeze the bolt and the bottom of the base together and that's going to allow you to slide it onto the square bar. Now per our instructions we need to be 19 inches from our front portion of the foot to the center of the bar. Now I know my bar is 50 inches long. I've already gone ahead and marked 25 inches, which is the center. I'll take my tape measurer and make sure we've got 19 inches. With our foot in place let's go ahead and put on our end cap. This is made out of rubber. We'll just slide that on until about there. Now let's turn our bar over and install our base pad. Now on one side you've got a raised lip. We want that facing towards the inside of the cross bar. Line it up and just push it in place. Finally, we'll install our hook. Now it's important that you have the right hook. The hook for the front cross bar and the rear are different, so refer to your instructions to make sure you have the correct one. We will slide it over our bolt. We'll take our locking bracket, slide that over the bolt as well. Then we'll take our large nut and thread that on. We don't need to worry about tightening this all the way, just loosely install it and have it hanging. Now we're ready to put it in place on our Fiat. Now it's a good idea to have your doors opened up. We'll bring it in place and we'll rest it in the general area. With it in place we need to take a measurement on each side. Per our instructions we'll measure from the center of the two doors again, just like we did for the front. We're going to be measuring to the center of our large nut and hook. We need to be 11.5 inches. Now before we tighten anything down we'll need to be sure that the pad here on the base is evenly split on the channel here. We've got to come back a little bit. We just want it resting on the metal instead of the plastic on each side. With everything set we can tighten up our large nut. Now we don't want to tighten it up all the way, we just want to raise that hook up until it makes contact with the inside of the door. Let's do that for both sides.Once it's evened up on both sides we can take our included tool and begin tightening them up all the way. Now we still want to alternate between each side, but once we get it most of the way our tool is a torquing device and when it clicks it lets us know it's properly torqued on each side. Once we hear the click we're all set. With everything tightened down we can close up our doors and install our lock. Now we do however want to make sure the lock is pointing right up and down in order for it to lock properly. It should slide all the way on, then we can take our keys and lock it up. Then we're ready to load up our favorite roof mounted accessory and hit the road. That's going to complete our test fit on the Inno Square Cross Bar Roof Rack System on our 2016 Fiat 500X.

These custom-fit clamps and pads let you mount 4 Inno XS200, XS250, or INSUT feet to your vehicle's naked roof to help create an aftermarket roof rack system. Clamps mount to feet with bolts. Kit includes 4 clamps and 4 pads.I bought this for my 2016 Fiat 500X which has two glass sunroofs, and it fits perfectly! Follow the directions, put the bars where it says to, and your glass will be safe. You can't open the sunroof while this is in place, but hey, at least you can haul gear on your roof without breaking the glass.
Everything fits, works and looks great! Excellent service too!
shipping was awesome fast . they have been most helpful in getting this pieced together as well. thank yo u
I am writing this review in the context of an owner of an old Yakima roof rack system from many vehicles before the 2021 Hyundai Tucson on which I just mounted four INNO separate sets of components to carry two bikes on top of the Tucson. Note that you need at least three sets of components to have a "base rack" system, including the hooks, in this case the INNO INK680, the INNO INSUT Feet and the INNO INB137 set of crossbars. The feet are rubber coated metal so that they will not mar the paint where they clamp to the edge of the roof just above the doors. The rubber pads are also substantial to provide a slip-proof and paint protecting bottom for the INSUT feet. Read through all the directions for all the components before beginning installation, perhaps even "rehearsing" all the steps before actual installation with tightening everything. The instructions could be clearer, but with practice walking through all the steps they make sense. Once installed, I could grab any part of the completed system and pull upwards, sideways, forwards, and backwards without any play or slack in any of the components. In fact, it was easy to rock the whole car side to side without budging the INNO components at all. Compared to the old Yakima system, the INNO is just as sturdy and substantial if not more so. Just to replace the Yakima "feet" to use my old round Yakima crossbars would have cost more than the total of the three INNO components needed to get the base system. Even better, the INNO system came with included locks to lock the system to the vehicle. Many years ago, the Yakima four lock cylinders were $[XX] extra - probably much more now. So, I think the INNO is at least as sturdy and capable for much less money.
etrailer was great to order from! Going to the website makes it easy to see what roof rack will fit your vehicle. Ordering process was a breeze and the fulfillment updates were great. Ordered on the 13th and received it on the 16th so the FREE shipping was super fast. New installs of anything can always be challenging but once I read the the instructions it all went pretty smooth. Installing this Inno Roof Rack onto our 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport was pretty simple and took less than an hours from start to finish. Now we are ready to load up out Thule cargo carrier when we hit the road.
Feels premium and was pretty straight forward to install. I think it looks really good on the 2019 Honda Accord Sport. I plan to pair it with the Inno Wedge 660 cargo box. So far, it seems really well made and has a rubberized texture throughout. I installed it by myself in about 30 minutes without the instructions. It also shipped in only 2 days.
I purchased the Inno Rack system and Rhino Rack 581 saddles for my 2007 Mercury Montego. The instructions were easy to follow, and the rack is rock solid. It makes loading and unloading my kayak a breeze. I previously used roof pads and that was ridiculous compared to what this rack does for me now. I am amazed with how quiet with and without the kayak attached is - I don’t hear anything except the very slightest amount of wind with the windows open on the highway. I always have put a one turn twist in the bow and stern straps, but for the rest they’re all straight. I added an extra strap on the rear crossbar that goes behind the rear combing of my cockpit for extra security- but that’s just me. I’ve included a photo to show my setup. Thank you so much Mark S, Becky B, Carol C, and George J. etrailer rocks.
etrailer gave me fast shipping and a great price. Inno quality is great. I’ve had this on for several months and use it to transport bikes. I use the cheap bike racks on [online] but they work.
I have a 2022 Lexus GX460 Premium. Fairly simple installation and a almost seem less transition from the fit kit to the cross bar system. Can be done by one person, but I would suggest a two-person system to expedite the process.
Great system. Got it installed the night before a road trip, and once you get the hang of if, assembly is easy and intuitive. This system is rock solid and well done.
Things I wish I knew that would have helped in my decision:
1) After you install the footbeds, the rails and tower easily remove as one unit in the future, and they include little covers to put over the feet. No more long debates about wind noise. If you find them modify or don’t like the look, take it off in five minutes. Even the Allen wrench is stored neatly in the rack.
2) I had been a long time Yakima user, so that’s where I started with my GX rack. Having searched far and wide for landing pads, I was all set. Step one of the Yakima system: remove factory rails. Having just spent good money on this truck, I’m not taking off factory rails and adding silicone around the holes to create new mounting points. Innos fits nicely to the factory rails.
We bought this along with the INTR - Inno Feet for Square Crossbars. We used this to mount Thule crossbars and a Thule Adventurer cargo box on a 2001 Subaru Forester. Everything fit perfectly. The Inno mounts were completely compatible with the Thule crossbars. The fast and accurate shipping helped avert a crisis before a cross country trip.
I am more than pleased by the service that I had at etrailer. I was looking for a very old roof rack for my Subaru Legacy 2007 and etrailer had it. I was suspicius about it so I wrote them and got a quick and friendly answer that confirmed the fit and availability. Delivery was quick and the tracking from etrailer website was outstanding.
Fit perfectly. Went together easily. High quality parts. Great rack for paddleboards.
These were a perfect solution to my roof rack needs on my naked roof Traverse
Install was straight forward, read the instructions of both the hooks and the bars as they are different per vehicle. Build quality initially seems very good. Fit and finish superb. If you’re looking for a rack that is low drag and low noise this one is super quiet, even with a Yakima Skybox on it it’s quiet. Will update with mpg effect later.
Everything is good so far...the Inno rack system appears to made of good quality, fit and finish...it took about 2-hrs to get everything built, lined up, adjusted, tightened, loosened, repositioned, then retightened down...but I’m a bit of a perfectionist with things like this...plus I was checking my Saris cargo bin and various attachments, make sure that they’d all, which they do! And very well I might add...I just need to buy some new square carriage bolts for the channel now, along with new knobs...hoping that etrailer will get back to me with info soon...I will likely get a new wind deflector too...yesterday I did a test drive, was very pleased with the minimal whistling that occurred, and that was primarily between 30-40 mph and it was much quieter than my old Saris Roof Rack....after 40 mph the whistling got much quieter, very faint high highway speeds
Good quality rack system, easy to assemble and install, works well, looks good, fair price, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I appreciate the guidance I received from William B. at the beginning of my search for a roof rack to carry a canoe on my 2015 Honda Civic. Two thumbs up for this purchase.
Ordered on Tuesday after Thule and Yakima said systems for my car were not available. Arrived Thursday. On the car Friday just as instructions said, in a snow storm. On the way to the slopes Saturday! Great experience. Thank you.
I received this roof rack kit on the exact day that it was estimated to. Everything was well packed, instructions were clear, and the whole thing went together without a glitch. Road tested it for noise, and didn't detect anything noticeable at 90 KPH. As usual with Etrailer, very pleased with the whole experience.
I was using Yakima Bowdown Kayak racks on my OE roof racks. The shape of the OE cross rails just didn't work well with the racks, and they were always loose. I installed the Inno square tube racks from Etrailer, and all is right in my world. Easy installation (thanks for the detailed instructions!) and a solid feel! No whistling, either! Quick shipment, best price anywhere! Thanks, Etrailer!
Good fit and easy to install. Plenty sturdy for a couple bike racks of your choice or a cargo rack. Happy with the purchase and saved some money compared to Thule or Yakima options. The crossbars are a bit loud, but you can reduce the whistle by wrapping a bungee cord around each bar a couple times and hooking them to the towers.
Quick and easy. This roof rack was shipped quickly. Installation was super easy and it looks like it was made for my truck. Holds my canoe perfectly. Thank you!
