Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta we're doing a test fit of the Inno Aeroblade Crossbars. The part number for our crossbars today is I9XB100-2, for our foot pack we're using INXS200, and for our fit kit, we're using INK590. We already have our front bar on, we're going to show you we put the back bar together. We've just got one foot pack left and then we'll load it up onto our vehicle. It comes with everything you see here. The only thing you'll really need to provide is a flat tape, or even a tape measure will work for that as well. First thing we're going to do is put our foot pack together.
I'm going to undo the bolt here at the end, and then I'll take my clamp, and I'll just re-thread my bolt just a few threads so it stays in place. I can take my rubber pad for my foot pack, and just fit that onto the bottom, and make sure that all the seams are closed there. We're then going to line it up onto our bracket that I've already installed. We're going to line up this piece here with this hole, and the smaller piece with the smaller hole. Once those are lined up, we'll extend that out, and then we'll take our longer Allen key and we'll just tighten down the bolts in the center here. What that's going to do is prevent that foot pack from moving up and down the length of the crossbar and just keep it secure in the spot that we need it.
We can now open our car doors and load up our crossbar. We're going to make sure when we load up our crossbar that the thicker end of the crossbar is facing forwards this side a bit, a bit bigger than the other side, we're just going to have that face the correct way. We're going to loosely install these, and readjust the other side. Perfect. With those in place we can take our tape measure, or flat tape at this time, and we're going to measure from the center of the foot pack to the center of the door jam here. All the measurements are in your instructions, but for now, we're going to use forty centimeters as our mark.
With this measurement, you're going to be able to put any kind of roof mounted accessories on your vehicle. You can do roof mounted bike racks, or cargo boxes, or even ski and snowboard carriers, which are all available on our website. We just have to double check that this side is even as well. A good thing to remember is that whatever we do to one side, we want to do to the other, just so our crossbar sits evenly and is secure. With those in the right spot we can now start to tighten down our foot packs. To do so, I'm going to take my tool and start by tightening the clamps so it sits just up against the door frame there.
We'll do the same to the other side. These bars are great, they're a sleek, aerodynamic design, they're going to be pretty light weight on your vehicle, and another great feature about it is that it does have a T-Track area to load up any of your T-Channel mounted accessories. One plus about that is that you don't have to take out this weather stripping here, you can actually leave that in and just push it down to load up those accessories. That's going to keep the aerodynamics of the crossbar and still prevent wind noise while you still have something on your crossbars. With those two up against the door jam, I'm going to start tightening them down. I do about five to ten turns on each side. If you heard that pop, that's going to be like a gas cap noise that you'll hear, that's when you know that your foot pack is completely secure and tightened down enough onto your vehicle, so now we'll just do the same thing to this side, make sure it is secure as well. We can close up our doors here and we'll grab our locking end caps. With those T-Track mounted accessories, as I mentioned before you can keep that weather stripping in, but these covers are also going to protect any kind of bike rack or anything that you have on there. Since they are locking you aren't going to be able to take your bike rack off without having that key and removing that end cap. It's just an added safety feature if you maybe don't have a locking mechanism on your bike rack. With those in place, that's going to complete our look at the Inno Aeroblade Roof Crossbars on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.
