Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Ford Edge, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Rhino Rack Roof-Rack System. This is going to consist of your Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, part number: RRVA137B-2; the Rhino Rack 2500 Series Legs, part number: RRLKVA; and the fit kit for the Ford Edge, part number: DK228. Keep in mind that our crossbars are also available in silver with part number: RRVA137S-2.The Rhino Rack Roof-Rack System is a great solution for carrying your vehicle accessories on your roof, whether those are bike racks, ski and snowboard carriers, kayak carriers or cargo baskets. The aerodynamic shape, as well as the weatherstrip on the inside, help to reduce wind, noise and drag. We do have the option to remove our end cap. Then we can remove our weatherstrip, cut this down and insert any channel-mounted accessories we may like.On our end cap, we can replace our plastic lock core with a metal lock core to prevent more theft and tampering.
Those can be found here at etrailer.com. We do have a locking end cap for our leg kit. This is going to help to prevent any theft or tampering of your roof-rack system as a whole since you can't get to your clamp with the cover locked in place.As for our fit kit, this is going to be custom-cut to our vehicle so we have a nice, secure fit and any portion that's going to touch our vehicle will have a rubber coating to prevent any scratches or abrasions.The Rhino Rack Roof-Rack System has a 165-pound weight capacity and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It's quick and easy to install, we'll show you how to do that now.Now everything that you see on our table is what's included in our kit. We're going to have two crossbars.
We'll get four end caps for our crossbar. Four end caps for our leg kit, as well as four legs. We're going to have four pads and four clamps as part of our fit kit. Our tool to tighten everything down. A key for our crossbar end cap.
Keys for our leg kit end cap. We've provided our own flat tape measure.We're going to start by removing our bolt here in the center of our leg kit. Then we can take our clamp, we'll place it over the top and we'll tighten down our bolt. Now, we don't want to tighten it down too much, we just want it tight enough so that our clamp stays onto our leg kit. We'll then flip it over and remove the plastic bottom.We're going to take the pad, making sure that the two arrows on each piece are facing up.
We'll seal up all the holes and make sure that the arrows face away from the inside of our foot pack. Then we can place this onto our crossbar.Now, we'll slide our leg kit onto our crossbar and we'll measure out this inside strip here. Your kit will come with measuring strips to place in to reduce any wind, noise or drag; but for demonstration purposes, we're not going to use any. We'll just use that flat tape measure. We're going to measure it out to 15.8 centimeters. With that in place, we can take our tool and tighten down the bolts here in the center. Lastly, we'll place on our crossbar end cap and lock it into place.Now, we can take our crossbar and gently place it across our vehicle. We want to make sure that our clamp grips around our door frame on both sides.Now, we'll measure out our crossbar spread from the center of the front to the center of the back. We want this to be set at 70 centimeters. Again, we'll do the same thing to the other side.Now, we can start to tighten our clamps down. We're going to use our included tool and tighten down our bolt just enough so that our clamp sits just up against our door frame. Now, we'll do the same thing to the other side.Now, we'll know when we have our roof rack completely tight when the skinnier portion of our torque tool is completely straight, just like you see there. Now, we can close up our doors and place on our end caps, lock them into place. Now, we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road.That's going to be our completed look at the Rhino Rack Roof-Rack System on our 2008 Ford Edge.

Great service. We sold our Toad and purchased a new (Lincoln MKX) to tow behind our motorhome. I contacted etrailer by phone and after a short dialogue, Blue Ox base plate and wiring components were on the way to my installer. Arrived in 4 days after my phone call ... free shipping. Worked great. ( still haven't towed new car yet). Now we need to modify ourRhino Rack for our canoe. I called Rhino Rack, got info and went back to etrailer. Again a well informed sales person got me all the parts that I needed to modify my canoe Rack for my new car. (Not free shipping).

Jesse was great by answering all my questions and made me feel comfortable ordering the roof rack. Then it even showed up a day early!! It took us about an hour and a half to put the rack together and install it on our car. We did have to get online to watch the video because the printed instructions were great for the measurements, but not on how to put all the parts together. Before I wrote this review, I wanted to check out the performance - and once again, GREAT!

The Rhino-Rack 2500 series rough rack has turned out to be a perfect luggage storage solution for my Ford Edge Sport which has the all-glass panavista roof. The aero rack is a great buy. Had it about a year for use with a heavy fishing kayak. Long drives, bumpy roads, no problem. Not to mention the easy install. I had some questions before buying, and customer service addressed them promptly and were very helpful.

Fit is good, sturdy rack, video instructions are great and easy to put on. Locks are not that great but will work for me. If someone really wanted to get to the bolt they could easily break the lock covers but then they would have to have the correct wrench. I would still recommend this as a great after market rack.
