Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Ford Focus we'll be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Roof Rack System. This is going to consist of Vortex Aero Crossbars, part number RRVA126B-2. Our crossbars are also available in silver, part number RRVA126S-2. And the Rhino Rack 2500 Series Legs, part number RRRLKVA and our fit kit for our Ford Focus, part number DK307. The Rhino Rack Roof Rack System is a great solution for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your vehicle, whether those are bike racks, cargo baskets, ski and snowboard carriers or kayak carriers. The aerodynamic shape of the bar is going to help to reduce wind noise and drag.
Our weather strip here can be easily removed, cut down and replaced to use the channel mounted accessories. As for our fit pack, this is going to have a lock and cover, which will help to prevent theft and tampering of your roof rack system as a whole. On the inside we're going to have a bolt that secures the clamp of our fit kit to our vehicle. Our fit kit is going to consist of the pad and the clamp and any portion of each of those items that touches our vehicle is going to have a rubber coating to prevent any scratches or abrasions. They are also going to be custom cut and fit to our vehicle to get a nice secure fit. The Rhino Rack Roof Rack System has a 165 pound weight capacity but you do want to double check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure it can withstand that much weight.
It also comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It's going to be quick and easy to install. We'll show you how to do that now.Now we start by removing our bolts from our leg kit. We're going to take our clamp and place it over the top then tighten down our bolt one more time. We're going to tighten this down just enough so that it holds our clamp into place but not too tight because we still want to place this on to our vehicle.
Now we'll flip our leg kit over and pop off the bottom plastic piece. We'll take our pads, each arrow, want to make sure they face the same way. We'll close up our pads and we're just going to make sure that each arrow is facing away from the inside of our crossbar. Next we'll take out leg kit and place it onto our crossbar. We'll slide it on.
And we can measure out our overhang. This is going to be 15.4 cm. It is in your instructions. Measure that out and we can take out included tool and tighten down the bolts in the center. Now we'll take our crossbar end cap. We can place it on and lock it into place. We're ready to open up our vehicle doors and load this up onto our vehicle. Now we can take our crossbar and gently place it across our vehicle, making sure that our clamps sit around our door frame. Now we're going to take a measurement from the center of the front bar to the center of the back. We're just going to measure out 72 cm, according to our instructions and that's going to be our crossbar spread. Do the same thing on the other side. Now we'll start to tighten everything down. I like to tighten it up so that my clamp sits just up against my door frame. And we'll go and do the same thing to the other side. And we'll continue doing this back and forth until it's completely tightened down evenly. Now we'll know this is completely tightened down when the skinnier of our torque tool is straight, just like we have there. Now we'll take our included locking end cap, place it on, lock it into place and we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road. And that's going to be our completed look at the Rhino Rack Roof Rack System on our 2012 Ford Focus.

Thanks to etrailer, I am ready to do some serious summer exploring with my 2013 Mazda 3! Rhino Racks, Malone top box, and Kuat bike rack!
love it, no problem and easy to install and take on and off, 47,000 miles on the highway and not a single issue. I even like the song the ladder hums to me driving down the interstate. This is my second Rhino and both have preformed to a high standard.
This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.

This is a great roof rack, VERY sturdy once attached! I used it to carry two kayaks on the freeway multiple times and it was flawless. It is quite loud, but that is to be expected with this type of roof rack. Having the sunroof open doesn't help either... :-)
I had ordered a different rack as this one was out of stock.. I checked the website and this rack had just came in.. I called customer service and spoke with Jane.. no problem.. canceled the original order and ordered this kit.. AND sent it right out.. I received it in 2 days !! OUTSTANDING customer service..
As for the rack itself, I was impressed with the quality.. however it was a little tricky to install myself.. 2 people would not he a problem.. be super accurate with your measurements! I did make a few mistakes but it came out great! And looks good too ! Fits my needs exactly.. thanks again to Jane S for her outstanding customer support
I received the rack in an efficient manner. When I went to finally assemble it, I was missing a crucial part. Fear not, their customer service was good. Tamara got the part shipped to me. Then,
myself and a surgeon (practically) tirelessly figured out how to assemble it. Terrible directions... Literally 2 hours later, it was done! Like magic... but not ;-) Proud to of got it done. Pixs included

I love my Rhino Rack roof rack. It has been used in the past year for moving large items like an extension ladder for working on the house and I have a cargo box I use for road trips. I’ve noticed zero wind noise from the rack and would recommend to anyone considering this rack.
I was in a roof rack jam. There was a national shortage of the rack I needed for my car and our summer vacation was a week away. I went to etrailer.com when I couldnt find the roof rack anywhere else on the web. Another website actually suggested that they might have what I needed.
I spoke to Ashley E on the phone to make sure that I was picking the right parts. Ashley was very helpful and knowledgable. She helped me find the right roof rack and made sure that I received it in record time. I am a customer for life!!!
I have purchased a few items from etrailer and have always been impressed. While pricing is always competitive the huge advantage comes into play when you factor in shipping. I have seen items advertised lower than etrailer elsewhere but oftentimes shipping elsewhere is extremely expensive so the overall price is higher.
As far as the roof rack and cargo box go they were received in perfect condition and are now mounted on my son’s car.
When it comes to high dollar items for a car, truck or trailer I will always check out etrailer before making a purchase.
Great product everything fit perfectly. With the heavy duty bars almost all the hardware for anything you put on the rack is too short
2016 Ford Focus sedan. These are rock solid when mounted. I carry my 14 foot aluminum canoe, lumber, extension ladder, etc (not all at the same time) and feel completely confident. Also very easy to install and reinstall. I've tried the cheaper Sportrack, and these are worth the extra money for sure.
Worked well, solid construction. Need to follow instructions for a perfect installation.
Received the roof rack on the date promised, it was well packaged and all parts required were included. Everything fit together very well and the instructions were easy to follow. The rack looks good on the car. Once the rack is installed and the included decals in place it only takes a few minutes to remove it and reinstall. This is important for me because we will only use the racks to transport our kayaks the rest of the time they will be removed and stored.
There are two small items that can be improved. First the legs are different lengths yet nowhere in the instructions does it tell you where each size goes. Second I own 10 tape measure and not one of them is in meters and I do not care how good your eyesight is you are not going to be able to measure to 53/64". If the measurements are critical you should ensure customers in the US have measurements they can use or include a MM tape measure.
Overall this is a very good product that I would purchase again and recommend to friends.
This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
This rack worked out great... I installed in on a 2017 Ford F-150. We drove 6 hrs through wind and rain with a SUP and Tandem Kayak on top. It really took a beating in a storm the whole way. One bracket was a little loose and shifted because of the wind on the Kayak, but it held together. Super happy with Rhino rack!
Good quality and locks are included. The plastic lock covers are flimsy but they will keep an honest person honest.
We bought bars, J style kayak carriers and adaptors for our 2017 Ford Focus hatchback. Install was pretty easy. Looks nice and is very solid on the roof. We have two 10 foot kayaks which went up fairly easy on the roof. We have used several times and are very happy with product.
Bought this specifically to haul kayaks, but I can't begin to tell you how many things I've comfortably carried on this thing. Couldn't ask for a better customer service experience than the crew at etrailer, either. Absolutely amazing. Many other companies could learn from you guys and gals.
Really like the product and the instructions for installation. Used it for skiing and has worked really well. I think I might be a convert to Rhino Racks.
