Found one part of clamp on front crossbar was not inserted in assembly, and had to take apart retaining bolt and spring in order to assemble/insert piece where it belonged. Quality inspection at Mfr not up to par befor shipping.

Wanted to thank you again at etrailer.com for all of your help and also give you some pictures of a 4 door, panoramic rooftop 2017 LX I couldn't find pictures of so there are examples you might be able to use for reference. The crossbars fit beautifully, and I've driven around with them all day, no noise - haven't loaded them yet, but they're sturdy, well made and awesome! Next month were getting the basket!

Excellent product. Very durable and looks like they came equipped on the car when mounted. They were a great investment.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

1 year and these guys have held up really well. Was looking for a rack to ultimately hold bikes, and I’ve been able to stick 2-3 road bikes on very easily. The rack does have a slight curved shape, so the bikes aren’t at quite a perfect vertical, but it’s not noticeable enough to be a no go for me. Note that this rack is rated to a max of 150 lbs. I tied some wood to it at one point to bring it home from the depot one day, and I definitely was pushing it’s limits, so keep that in mind.

Some people mentioned noise as an issue. Any rack causes noise, but I personally have not noticed any prominent whistle noise since getting it. Definitely more wind noise with than without it. But nothing closing the sun roof shade and the turning up the volume knob won’t fix :)

Overall, great rack at a great price. Looks awesome on the car too (like they were meant to be there all along), which is a plus.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

First let me say how impressed I was with your website. The product information and installation videos definitely helped me make my decision on which products to purchase. The prices were fair and ordering was simple. I was kept informed of the status of my order and I received all the items in 6 days.
The Rola Roof Rack with GTX mounting system was very easy to install on my Ford Edge . After a little adjusting to fit my boat , the Rola Hull-Hauler Kayak Carrier securely held on the first trip to the river.
I ended up loading and unloading the kayak from the passenger side of the car. By flipping the 2 right side saddles of the carrier toward the side, I was able to lift and set the kayak into the saddle and then center everything . I used a small step ladder so that I didn't have to lift the 50 lbs. kayak over my head.
The hood anchors made securing the front and rear of the kayak very easy . This will be especially important when transporting 2 boats at the same time.

2013 Honda Fit - Once you know that it goes 250mm towards the front from the B column and 700mm back from there for the second one, this installs incredibly easily. It was secure enough to shake the car with hand tight, but I used a drill with a security bit to tighten it to a little more than hand tight anyway and it is rock solid. Keeping to the 110lb weight limit is going to be a little annoying, but I know that's the car's limitation and not the rack. I can finally bring home a bunch of 2x4s or a sheet of plywood without renting a truck!

Even better than the rack, the customer service from etrailer.com has been spectacular. From the moment I clicked order until I was happy with the installation, I always felt like they had my back. Quick acknowledgement of the order, an update a few hours later tracking the order through their process to shipping with a tracking number, a followup when they saw that it had been delivered, and a quick answer to my question on the item -- constant communication without being annoying and cumbersome. Thanks for everything!

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

I've had some time now to get good use out of the roof rack and overall I'm fairly pleased. The only real issue I have is that when my bike is installed, I can't lift my hatch all the way open without the spoiler hitting my bike tire. Not a huge problem, just a little annoying. But as for the rack and bike carrier, they fit perfectly and I love that they're black to match my car. Thanks for the advice you guys provided me with. I've attached a couple pictures for you to check out.

I had always thought you needed Thule or Yakima to have good custom racks until a buddy of mine told me about the Rolas. I got them and am very pleased. Easy installation. We'll designed product. Solid as a rock on the car and they look nice. I would recommend them and also had a good purchase experience with etrailer.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

These roof racks for my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport are great. They arrived quickly and were completely assembled upon arrival (I was expecting to have to put them together myself). They are very sturdy and were extremely easy to install onto my roof rails. My rails have three holes in them and I thought these had "pegs" or something that would go into the holes on my rails but they don't. They simply clamp onto the rail and tighten around it. I have used them three times so far and they are exactly what I was looking for.

Great product! Paired it with my Sears cargo box and I have so much more room inside now with extra storage space. The roof racks look so sporty on my 2013 Kia Soul . I leave them on all the time now.

I purchased these bad boys about a year ago and have nothing but good things to say about them.

- Great quality and design
- Sturdy and durable
- Easy to put on and take off

They do make a little wind noise when riding, but that's a very common problem with most crossbars and they do make foam covers or you can do what I did and buy some 550 paracord to wrap over to help reduce the wind noise and that works great.

FYI, etrailer does not ship to PO boxes. I didn't recall seeing that anywhere on their website and there wasn't an error message that appeared when I entered my PO box address while submitting my order. Luckily the UPS driver called me and we were able to make arrangements for delivery. This did delay my delivery by 6 days.

Installation:
-Very straightforward once I found all of the parts.
-I initially had some trouble finding the keys for the roof rack so I was stuck on step 1 for several minutes. I eventually found them taped to the center of the box. I'm not sure why they couldn't have been included in the bag with the rest of the parts...
-Two L wrenches are provided and can be found inside the right end supports. Despite what some reviews said, I used them and they worked just fine for me.
-Step 5 is very helpful. I had to unscrew the bolts almost all the way before I could get the bars to fit properly on my roof.

Driving:
-I don't really notice the wind noise until I accelerate to speeds of 55 mph and above. It's fairly loud, but listening to music helps block out the sound.

Comments
UPS does not deliver to PO boxes, but the United States Postal Service will.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

Like the roof racks. They fit well, and are very secure. Fit an finish are good. There is a key lock on each end of the racks, which we can not figure out what it is for.
Our only really complaint that we have with these racks is that they tend to generate a bit of wind noise on the road.
Very happy with purchase

Comments
This is a locking roof rack. Lock cores on endcaps let you secure the system to your roof and also provide security for carriers and accessories mounted in the channels of your crossbars. Did you not receive the keys included in this roof rack?

I bought this product for my Ford Edge for kayaking. The package came in a timely manor, and all the parts were accounted for. Installation was fairly simple, minus one of the wrenches used to tighten the rack didn’t even fit the screw. Overall, pleased with the product!

After looking for a quality pair of cross bars I found these from ROLA. The reviews had no horror stories of falling off or assembly problems. I bought them for my daughter for her birthday. She was thrilled with them and mounted them up herself. They look great and supported the ROLA roof basket perfectly. She is one happy camper.

Easy to install, looks good on 2012 Mazda3 Hatchback, will work fine for our daughters kayak - would upgrade to a metal side mount for heavier loads. (these are plastic)

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

The Rola was just about the only naked roof cross bar setup for my Kia Forte 5 and it was also the most reasonably priced. It's only been a little over a year since I've had the roof rack setup but so far so good.

I paired the crossbars with two Yakima Frontloaders which worked out awesome for my bikes. In the past couple of months I have now thrown on a Rocky Mounts Tomahawk for my Fat Bike.

The front most Rola cross bar has slipped its way foward (about .25"), not sure why but it seems to be locked in place now, perhaps I had it seated too far to the rear. This movement was identified due to the dirt mark shaped like the fastening panel that was on both sides of my roof where cross bar panel/clamps use to be.

All in all for the price point I am still satisfied with the performance, though again it has only been some 13 months. I hope to have the same satisfaction another year or two down the road.

FYI - Apply temporary threadlock/locktite when mounting/securing crossbars. You'd think that'd be common sense but I remember seeing a few negative reviews when I decided to purchase that people noted bolts became loose over time.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

ETrailer has great videos on installation with step by step instructions for the least technical person like myself. This product has labels that go in the door frame for exact positioning. There are labels indicating where each piece goes such as front left, front right, back left and back right which eliminates guessing even if your staged parts get moved.
There is wind resistance on any roof rack, his oone has minimal amounts and you can purchase the optional pieces to reduce that if noise reduction is important. I did not feel that was necessary. He rack has great performance at any speed, but we mainly hit the highway around 70 which is our posted limit. I also purchased optional hood straps which keeps my front pieces in their normal shape and position while makin it much easier to ratchet down both front and rear. The rear attaches to my trailer hitch and I have minimal bending reducing fatigue on the back from bending.
I highly suggest this product which is much more economical compared to its competition.
We use the rack mainly for transporting kayaks but plan to add more uses as it has proven itself with this application. I lost a rack when it flew off on the highway from a “universal” mount product due to a faulty sized bracket. This unit specifically fit our Corrola and has protective pads to keep the paint fro being scratched under the door bracket which fits snuggly and appropriately.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

Very happy with the product but there are a few minor annoyances.

1. The included bolts are quite short, so you need to push down on the rack, to thread them in, that is quite difficult as you need to push down, find the thread and screw it in at the same time.

2. The included security star key fits but is loose, so you need to press down on it otherwise it starts to wear the bolt.

3. The rubber gasket fits around the roof, but doesn't go down far enough to seal the rain gutter, so there is a hole in the front and back of each foot.

4. There is wind noise but no whistling, at 40+ kph you can hear a deep wooooo sound, but again its not loud.

5. The plastic covers are very brittle, I broke one of the hinge mounts during the initial installation process with very little pressure, lucky its not vital and the locking mechanism and still works.

I bought this rack, because I needed more cargo space for a weekend trip. I know I will be using this infrequently, which made this products price very attractive. I borrowed a Thule Cargo box(see picture) and it worked perfectly. The ability to use a T-Channel mount is great too! Was given a T-Channel snowboard mount that fits perfectly.

Would have given this a Perfect score, if it had longer screws so that I could put it on and off easier. Its definitely a solid product, and I am very happy with the purchase.

On a side note, the Customer Service was exceptional through the pre-purchase, ordering, and post purchase stages.

Thanks Etrailer

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

I have a 2012 Kia Optima and did quite a bit of research before buying the Rola Roof Rack. I actually tried to fit a couple of the "one size fits all" racks and they don't work on this car. My son purchased a Thule square bar rack for naked roofs and it fits his girlfriend's ford fusion but won't fit the Kia. I didn't want to spend $500 to get a custom fit rack from the big names just to carry a $500 kayak once in a while. I was surprised how good these bars fit and the finish is nicer than the Thule that my son bought. The clamps are felt lined so they don't scratch the car. The pads under the feet and clamps are made for the car so you don't have to buy a fit kit. The mechanism that covers the key hole seems a little flimsy , I would keep them oiled so they don't stick. Take care to not force the keyed covers on the feet open. They are really just cosmetic and could break if you try to open them without wiggling the key a little until it releases. The feet are plastic but it is a very hard plastic with a lot of reinforcement so as long as you don't get carried away with tightening them down I think they will last a long time and carry loads just fine. The cross bars are aerodynamic and wide. They look very nice and cut down on some of the wind noise. After 60 mph it sounds like your driving with a window cracked open. The Rola rack is actually quieter than a friend's aero rack with the shield on it. I would highly recommend this rack if your not carrying more than a couple bikes or light kayaks. If your planning on loading it up with more than the recommended weight limits then I would spend $500 on something else that's fit for your car and is made of all steel and aluminum. I was happy to save $250 and get a great looking quiet rack that holds my kayak down without a problem.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

After purchasing a 2013 Santa Fe with the panoramic sunroof last year, we got the car home and I suddenly realized that I bought an SUV without a roof rack, which somewhat defeats the purpose of having an SUV in the first place! I was further disappointed when I was told that Hyundai doesn't make a roof rack for this vehicle with the panoramic sunroof, so I figured I was S.O.L. But after a bit of research, I found this item from etrailer.com. Took about 45 minutes to install because I was being slow and careful, but now that I've done it once, I could install it again (if necessary) in less than 10 minutes. Looks good and so far, works great. Seems very stable and I haven't heard any whistling. Very happy with this relatively inexpensive solution.

Another product spot on for ease of installation, fit and looks good too. If I had one suggestion to the written instruction it would recommended torch value to attachment bolts/ clap. Otherwise great buy.

Review from a similar Sport Series in Roof Rack

I gotta say I am impressed by the ROLA roof rack! I have put it through some very hard conditions in a short time. Let's start with the installation.
To install this roof rack was SIMPLE and EASY only took me15min.
Next... I've heard some scary stories of the automatic car wash being a roof racks enemy. Not in this case! Went through a high powered wash with no problem. Next was my weekend, road bike trip the way there is a 1 hr drive through the so-cal pass! With pot hole free ways, high winds and rain. But none of that compares to getting hit at a dead stop by another car. Thank you etrailer.com for my new roof rack by ROLA you saved my road bike! Hopefully my car can be fixed and I can continue using this great product. If not, I will definitely buy another for my next vehicle. Thanks again!
