These high-end bars look great on any vehicle, and they are perfect for those who want a quiet roof rack that can carry plenty of gear. The bars have dual rubber strips in the T-slots and pivoting endcaps that allow you to easily mount carriers and accessories. Each bar extends past the feet to maximize carrying capacity. The bars are constructed of aluminum with internal BoxBeam structures that make them extremely durable yet lightweight. The WingBars require a Thule foot pack (sold separately) to mount the rack to your roof. Some vehicles - such as those with a naked roof - may also require a vehicle-specific fit kit (sold separately).
Aerodynamic TrailEdge Design with WindDiffuser Strips
The WingBar's tapered TrailEdge shape helps reduce wind drag by separating the airflow over and under the bars so you won't see a reduction in your vehicle's gas mileage. This also dramatically reduces wind noise and vibration - even at highway speeds - and eliminates the need to add a fairing to your roof rack.
The rubber WindDiffuser strips in the T-slots have V-shaped ridges that direct air over the tops of the bars. This reduction in wind drag also helps maintain fuel efficiency and significantly reduces wind noise.
Channel-Mounted and Clamp-On Accessories
WingBar Evo crossbars have built-in T-slots with rubber strips that simply press into place. This makes them easier to install when compared with strips that have to be threaded into the channel from the end of the bar. The dual-strip design also makes accessories easier to install in the T-slots when compared with strips that have to be trimmed. Simply lift the SwingBlade endcaps open, slide your gear into the channel, and close the endcaps. These rubber strips also seal the gaps left by your accessories so that water and dirt don't get into the T-slots.
You can also attach most universal, clamp-on accessories and carriers to the bars.
Strong, Durable Construction
The WingBar Evo crossbars are made of anodized aluminum with internal BoxBeam structures. These structures strengthen the bars without significantly increasing their weight. Additionally, because the bars are aluminum, they won't rust or corrode so you can leave them on your roof year-round.
Hassle-Free Installation
Installation of the WingBar Evo crossbars is quick and easy, and you don't have to do any drilling or vehicle modification. The bars have bottom channels that accommodate your Thule feet. SmartSlide sliding scales in the bottom channels let you place the feet in the proper location using the vehicle-specific measurements provided in your fit kit manual. Simply slide each scale to the measurement indicated in the fit kit manual, then slide the foot into the channel until it rests against the scale.
For applications that don't require specific measurements provided in a fit kit manual - such as a raised rail - you can center the rack after you place it on your vehicle using a tape measure. Then slide the scales against the feet to fill in the gaps in the channel.
Insert the included rubber filler strips into each channel between the outer edges of the feet and the ends of the bars, and trim the excess. These rubber strips, coupled with the sliding scales, help to keep dirt and water out of the bottom channels and help to reduce whistling.
To complete installation on your roof simply tighten a single screw inside each foot using the torque tool included with the foot pack. This single attachment point enables you to secure the crossbar to the foot and the foot to your roof simultaneously.

This was the part I needed to add Thule kayak lift to my roof rack. System costs a fortune, but all is well made and works great.
Whisper quiet, no discernible effect on MPG, easy to use with our Thule box and racks, and looks absolutely great. Great purchase and way worth it!
Car: 4 door Civic sedan
Bought this as a set along with a set of locks. They did not have the locks in stock, so when I went ahead of canceled that portion of the order, they were able to process and ship it out the next day. It took roughly 1 week for it to arrive.
Following the instructions they provide you with was fairly simple, there was a QR code scan for a video that you can watch as well. I assembled this along with ski carriers that I had as well. I did struggle a little bit with the spacing I needed to fit my snowboard, but it wasn't too much of a hassle.
After assembling it, I was impressed with how it looked and also how stable and tight it was when I was trying to shake it around. As for the test drive, I was very impressed with how there was no wind whistle and they did not fall off (peaked at 70mph).
Overall, I would say it's definitely worth it to buy a good quality cross bar set. And more importantly it was worth it to purchase it from a retailer that does a good job processing and shipping your order without any issues!
Thule rack looks great on my Kia Telluride. The pieces took a while to get to me because they were on backorder but it's not etrailer, they were on backorder everywhere. I messed up a piece of the rubber while installing and etrailer sent me another one free of charge. Would definitely recommend etrailer.

The Thule crossbars are a great fit. The end-caps needed a good tap with a rubber mallet to seat into place, but they are incredibly strong and easy to install.

Very pleased with order. Shipped fast, not damaged, all parts accounted for. Easy install, very sturdy, and attractive design. Slight wind noise but that was expected compared to not having a roof rack.
Looks good and installs easily on a 2017 Accord. When paired with Thule Evo Feet for a naked roof, the system creates a tea-kettle whistle at speeds above 40 mph. I have yet to locate the precise source of the sound, but it seems to be somewhere between the mounting area and the end of the overhanging bar.

Thank you for your review on the Thule roof rack. It sounds like you are having issues with whistling. The Aerodynamic bars do cut down on most of the wind noise with the roof rack but it sounds like the noise you are experiencing is excessive. I recommend to take a look at the rubber stripping on the top of the bar and the bottom of the bar and make sure it is firmly pressed in. Another reason for wind noise is the rack is not tightened down to the proper torque specifications mentioned in the installation instructions so it is a good idea to make sure all of the parts are tightened down properly.
The rubber inserts would not snap into the crossbars. They were kinked.

Appreciative that etrailer organizes it so that I didn't have to think too hard/figure out what Thule equipment would work best for my 2015 VW Passat TDI SE. It takes some time to install, moving the bars back and forth so that the padding lines up as best possible for a naked roof; overall, very pleased.

Their order tracking system is also very good. I’m very pleased with the Thule Wingbar Evo 135 racks For my BMW X5 with flush roof rails. They are super sturdy, solidly mounted and look good on the vehicle. Mine will be mainly used for surfboards and SUP’s. The assembly and installation was a breeze. The included written instructions would have been sufficient for a seamless installation but I also watched one of many YouTube videos that demonstrated very clearly every step of assembly and installation for this specific set of racks.

The towers are whistling like crazy at speeds over 45mph and have tried moving them back and forth to different positions to see if it would fix it but it hasn’t. Installed them identical to your instructional videos. I was going to see if anyone had suggested using silicone to seal any gaps before I return them. Not happy at all about paying over $xxx for this system only for the feet to sound like something bought from [chain superstore]. Please advise.

Most of the time whistling occurs because the rubber strip is not covering the whole channel. You can find installation tips here in the attached expert answer. There will be some wind noise as with all brands of roof racks. Wind fairings greatly reduce that by adding an aero-dynamic ramp allowing the wind to flow over the roof rack. These Thule crossbars are actually designed to act as a fairing so one would not be needed. You could still get one if you wanted to try it out. This one would be the best match for the Thule Wingbar Evo Crossbars: item # Y05018.

These were received promptly and in good shape. I did have a question about positioning these things in relation to a moonroof, which could not be answered by the rep I talked to. It would have been nice if he would have found the answer. I will try calling Thule directly.

I reached out to Thule who advises that for the 2022 Kia Telluride with flush raised rails it really does not make a difference where the placement is, over or behind the moon roof. You just will not be able to open the moon roof while the roof rack is installed.

I really love my roof rack I got from this site. At first, I was having a heard time trying to figure out the right fit for my 2017 Acura MDX. I did a research only and watched videos on youtube. I even purchased the same thule roof rack from [online vendor] but it wasn't the right fit. When I made my way to this site, they not just have the right recommendation, but they also have the right parts for my vehicle. Review of Entire set: After a year of using this, it still works very well. Easy to take on and off your car and make slight adjustments if needed. Only maintaining is really just cleaning it which is simple enough. No issues with lockingunlocking with the keys. It has definitely helped saved space for my tiny Honda Civic.
