Honda Element

I have used Yakima products for decades. This was a slightly different application for me however with the existing roof mounts on the Honda Element. The landing pads work well, but I just don't trust the 2 small bolts and the plastic to metal butted connection. I would feel better at 70mph with a more 'fitted' attachment. The finished mount feels good. Time will tell. Otherwise an easy installation and a very good looking one. I like the quick detach towers. The full rack on an Element is noisy, nice not to have to hear it without a boat on.

Etrailer was a very easy to work with and I will use the company again.

2004 Honda Element

installed on Honda Element, perfect fit. Yack Racks Rock.

by:

Yakima roof rack was very easy to install and looks great too!

by:

Fast delivery. The kit was complete with all the parts I needed.

by:

Product is great, but etrailer.com is excellent! Great service; fast shipping; top notch communication. Very pleased.

by:

Very easy install looks great. Took about thirty minutes to install!

by:

Great service, they kept me up to date with the shipping. Would highly recommend and would use again!

by:

Excellent Product. Easy to install!

by:

The fit is perfect!

by:

by:

Great quality! They come with two different style bases. One flat, and one that is stepped to account for the raised area near the gutter trim. Good variety of screws to meet your application. My 2015 Mazda 3 (with fixed points) needed the medium length screws. Seems very solid!
I left the plastic gutter moldings on and just drilled holes for the screws to go through.

by:

Landing Pad 23 fits my RAV4 Prime perfectly. No issues in the install other than the torque might be more than needed as it deforms the cars roof rail and the fitting (pad) deforms so that the male mount on the racks won't fit. I had to open them up by loosening the bolt to the point it would fit. All good!

by:

This fits a 2020 Rav4 perfectly. This will prolong all my yakima rack accessories that I have.

by:

Everything came in a timely manner and ready to install. Looks great, solid rack.

by:

Easy, straight forward installation.

by:

Fit our Subaru Forester perfectly. Install was a breeze.

by:

The landing pad for the 2024 RAV4 has only one screw to hold it in place. Do not over-tighten that screw, that will result in the width of the connection holes on the pad bowing and moving closer together, then the sky tower attachment will not fit into the mounting location. The Yakama installation instructions did not directly address this potential.
The landing pad for a 2004 Honda CR-V used two screws for each pad, and the issue did not occur.

by:

Very happy with our purchase. I love how easily you can remove the entire rack easily. Too bad the locking mechanism comes separately but we are still happy with what we received.

by:

The materials are high quality and finished well. Tightening the bolts causes the receivers to bow inward and made it very difficult to install the Skyline tower base.

by:

Used these on my 2011 BMW 335. It took a little while to get the threads to catch on the roof attachment the first time I installed them. Otherwise they do what they are supposed to do and don't scratch the roof.

by:

Great service. Thanks!

Yakima Landing Pad 22 is the only product I could find that is suitable for my Mercedes E450 Coupe. The car's panoramic glass extends close to where the fixed mounting points are, but Yakima has accounted for that by designing the LP 22 so that the small part that sits on the glass is not transferring the load. Also, the LP22 accommodates the flip-open doors for the four fixed mounting points on the Mercedes. Yakima instruction manual and etrailer.com videos are highly useful.
Only complaint is with the LP 22 Covers, which are supplied for when the roof rack (Towers and Crossbars) are removed. These covers are not usable - they do not snap into place and appear as if they were designed for a different landing pad. This is not a deal breaker for me because I remove the LP 22s whenever I remove the roof rack, but it will likely be a concern for others.

by:

Everything worked out great, free shipping only took three days as well.

by:

Rack landing pads for my car model were back ordered and unavailable from [online vendor] and direct from Yakima itself. etrailer had them in stock and shipped them to me on time. nuff said!

  • What Crossbar System, Platform, Hitch, and Bike Rack do You Recommend for My 2005 Honda Element?
Yakima does make a square crossbar system for your bare roof 2005 Honda Element. I recommend the following parts: -Yakima HD Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 60" Long # Y01157 -Towers # Y53TR -Adapters # Y03541 -Landing Pads # Y00229 As far as adding more racks to the setup, the only way to do it would be by attaching something like the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack - Round Bars - Vacuum Cup Mount - 48" Long # 298-SX6000B to your roof as long as there is enough space either between,...

  • Replacement Yakima Landing Pad for 2004 Honda Element
Thank you for all of the information and the pictures! According to Yakima the only landing pad that has ever been used for a 2004 Honda Element is the Landing Pad 9 # Y00229 which sits on top of those black trim sections on your roof. I reached out to my contact at Yakima who also confirmed this. I'm thinking that whoever installed this roof rack kit used a custom option that you would drill through the roof to install because the feet locations in your pictures sit well in front of where...

  • Parts Needed To Install Yakima Round Bars On A Honda Element
We do carry the additional parts needed to mount Yakima Round bars on the top of your Honda Element. Fortunately both the 2007 and 2010 models use the same parts. You will need the following parts; Skyline Towers # Y53TR Roundbar Adapter # Y03536 Landing pad # Y00229 (you will need to order qty 2 of these for 2 crossbars) Please note that with the fixed mounting points on your Honda Element, you are limited to only 2 crossbars on each vehicle. I am not sure but it sounds like you are...

  • Recommended Roof Rack System for 2006 Honda Element Used For Roof Top Tent
It looks like your 2006 Honda Element has fixed mounting points, so you'll need to make sure that the center of each mounting point is at least 28" apart to use a Roofnest Sparrow tent. For a roof rack I recommend using the Yakima Roof Rack for 2006 Honda Element that uses parts # Y00426, # Y53TR and # Y00229, which will give you a durable roof rack capable of carrying the Sparrow XL. This system uses aerodynamic crossbars that will limit wind noise and you can add locks with part # Y07204...

  • Recommended Roof Rack For 2006 Honda Element
I reached out to my contact at Yakima and the Q towers will not work on either of the vehicles mentioned. For this, I recommend the Yakima CoreBar Crossbar System which is composed of part # Y00422, part # Y53TR, and part # Y00229. • Would Rhino Rack Roof Basket part # RMCB02 fit a 2003 Honda Element
The Rhino Rack cargo basket part # RMCB02 can fit a wide range of crossbar dimensions. It can fit crossbars that are up to 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" tall and spaced between 25-1/2" - 43". Most likely this would fit the factory bars of your 2003 Honda Element but Rhino Rack does not have your vehicle in their fit guide at this time so you would need to measure the dimensions and spread of your rack to see if this would fit. Now if you need a set of crossbars we can help with that, but we don't...

  • Roof Rack Recommendation for 2007 Honda Element SC
Yakima is our only manufacturer that offers roof rack fits for the SC models of the 2007 Honda Element like what you mentioned. For that the Corebar rack part numbers # Y00422, # Y53TR, and # Y00229 would be a really great option. It's an aero bar design which means minimal wind noise and affected fuel mileage.

Thank you for the photo of your 2007 Honda Element for which you want a roof rack that will allow use of the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898. The Hullavator Pro requires that the host roof rack have bar spacing of at least 24-inches, a minimum of 28.5-inches of available bar space, and it also requires that the bars extend outside of the rack feet 4 to 8-inches on both sides.
