Hello, everybody. This is Jeff @etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Blue Ox three foot long permanent baseplate safety cables. Has a 7,500 pound capacity. Now, this part here will include the two safety cables, the four quick link connectors, and a nice set of detailed instructions that will describe how this attaches. Now, basically these are aircraft grade steel cables, which will secure your baseplate to the frame of your car.
These safety cables provide a permanent connection between the baseplate and the towed vehicle, and they're designed to help keep your towed vehicle behind your RV in the event of a breakaway. We mentioned they're an aircraft grade steel cable, makes them very strong and durable. They do have a nice plastic coating over the whole cable. It prevents scratches on your baseplate. And as we mentioned, they use these quick link connectors, which attach the cable securely and conveniently.
These parts are made in the USA. Specs, again, the length on these cables is three feet, capacity is 7,500 pounds. But that's gonna do it for the review on the Blue Ox three foot long permanent baseplate safety cables.

Yup, they are steel cables and at one year they have not rusted in half. Well, ok, they have not rusted at all even at the point where I let one rub on the frame and it chewed an away some of the coating. Good cables which will last as long as I need. I actually moved them from the wrangler i originally installed them on to our new maverick to tow that.
The cable assemblies are well made and a fair price given the quality of the hardware the strength of the splices.
Heavily constructed, should easily provide protection for our 2016 Lincoln MKX.
Just received the products I ordered. Both items look excellent. I ordered the RoadMaster High-Low 6" Drop Hitch and the Blue Ox Safety Cables.
Great Safety cables. Very good quality and etrailer always has good prices and their service, support and follow-up is second to none in my opinion. I'm still using the cables after a year and they look good as new. Thank you etrailer.
