The Rhino-Rack ski and fishing rod carrier comes with a lock on each unit, offering you peace of mind when you are hanging at the lodge after a long day on the slopes or out on the lake in your boat.
The carrier operates with a large push button on the side of the unit. This design allows for easy loading and unloading of skis, a snowboard, or fishing rods, even if you're wearing fingerless mittens or big, bulky winter gloves.
The ski and fishing rod carrier mounts in the top channel of your Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero or Heavy-Duty crossbars with T-bolts. It also comes with universal clamp-on mounting hardware that lets you use the carrier on round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars right out of the box.
A riser kit (S550 - sold separately) is available to accommodate your skis or snowboards with tall bindings. The risers mount to the spacer nuts on the bottom of your rack and attach to your crossbars with a special fit kit (WR09 - sold separately). These kits add 1-3/8 inches of additional clearance between the bottom of the carrier and your vehicle's roof. If you have Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty crossbars, you will need to use fit kit WR02 instead of WR09.
This carrier protects your gear with soft rubber molding inside the hinged arms of the carrier. The molding gently cradles your skis, snowboard, or fishing rods and won't damage paint or cause abrasions.

We bought these to go alongside a roof box and they work great, freeing up space in the roof box for all the other stuff you need for skiing. They are sturdy, don't wobble on our Thule bars, and the lock mechanism works well. They would fit 3 pair of x-country or narrow alpine skis; with wider alpine skis you only get 2 pair (there is about 300mm of room on the rack and while many skis are <100mm underfoot, they are 15-35mm wider at the widest part so you can only fit 2 pair).
I can't ski, I fly fish. However my oldest decided to try downhill skiing after being gifted a pair of skis. I am budget minded should the skiing not work out and after breaking many rod tips decided this might solve 2 problem. I am very pleased w/this equipment holder. It has transported skis & ski poles too and from and no longer does my oldest have to dodge skies coming over the back seat. So far it has taken abuse from the rain (& freezing rain), snow, ice, rapid warming, road salt, and upwards of 70mph and there has been no shifting, loosening, breaking of plastic or any other noticeable problems. I am excited for spring to see how it transports my fly rods.
I think these racks will be excellent during ski outings for many years. I attached them directly to the C-grooves on my Aero bars rather than using the provided clamps. The C-groove attachment is stronger and slightly lower profile. I love the large release buttons!.
Clamp came almost ready to install, which was great for getting it on my rack in less than 30 minutes. It is very sturdy and holds my boards great! I was concerned my crossbars would be too thick, so the feet of the clamp's wouldn't fit around them, but they fit snug and secure.

This ski/snowboard holder is extremely easy to install, very sturdy and looks good. I tried driving at freeway speeds and could not hear any whistling or wind noise so far. The included locks are definitely a bonus.
Very happy with our new ski rack! Easy to install and very stable. Needed this smaller rack because a full size one will NOT fit a 2019 Jeep. This one is just right!
So far, the rack has been working great. Shipping and assembly were no problem.
Advertised as being able to hold 3 skis. 2 pair of skis yes - 3 adult skis no.
These are stable, secure, and easy to use. They work great!
This has worked out great for our family to hit the ski slopes last winter and again this winter. Very easy to use, put on at beginning of winter, and remove when the slopes close for the season.
Unfortunately we have to take the bindings off to stow two boards but it will create much needed space in our SUV and I trust that my boards will be secure from theft. They will be a new staple on my car for the rest of the winter and allow us to make quick and easy trips to the mountains.
Best there is. Never mind spending 300+ get these for half of that and quality is just as good even better. Would highly recommend

There is a certain way you have to pair the skis up for all of them to fit. There is a photo above in the description of all 3 pairs of skis.
