Exactly what I needed. Now I don’t have to carry the spare in the back of my Jeep Wrangler toad!

etrailercom customer service is beyond superb.
My order was missing the “lowering” lever.
They immediately addressed the issue.
Answered all questions prior to ordering.

They aren’t the cheapest, but I can sleep nights.
Can’t Beat their Customer Service!!!

Luckly, havent had a flat tire to use the spare! The product has held up problems. Just remember to lockdown the spare and remove the lowering lever when in will be stolen if you dont!!!

Works great on my 05 Excursion. Carrying a 35 inch tire on an 18 inch wheel. Ended up using slightly different hardware.... 1/2 x 20 lugnuts and bolts to secure it. Also put a regular bolt in place of the hand tightened safety bolt in order to torque it down and stabilize it better. Product is very well made and is probably the best approach to carrying an oversized spare, especially when an aftermarket bumper with a spare attachment is generally well over $2k. There is also room to lift the back glass as well as tow my utility trailer.... probably won't be able to tow the camper though without an extension. Using a torklift 20k dual receiver hitch

It works great. Because of my situation I actually welded it to my RV frame. This kept the number of joints to a minimum and lessens the cantilever load as I also put a bicycle rack for my e-bikes into the tire carrier.

Hang em High. Instalation time about 30 minutes with the help of my son 1 hour 30 minutes. He doesn't need to read instructions. He so smart. Well any way there is a bolt that bolts to the receiver note bolt to. It wouldn't fit so son decided to hammer it in. Guess what round peg square hold. Then son discovered it screws in and he has screw it up. After re thread bolt works great. Lesson don't let 52 year old son install with out reading instructions. This weekend I will mount the tire.

I changed the rear gas tank from 16 gallons to one that is 38 gallons for long distance off road travel. There no longer was room for the spare tire. Vehicle is 1985 F-250 4x4 hi-Boy 8600# GVW. This spare tire carrier also allows me to tow my other vehicles or trailer. Some Devcon keeps the wheel studs in place much better. I use an anti-rattle clip on the receiver to keep the noise and rattle down. The handle extension helps to lower and raise the tire to either side. No problems off road. I can still open the shell rear door. Only reason I docked a point was no license plate holder to relocate my plate. I drilled the stud bolts for small padlocks. This with a mounted tire made trial fitting of tire chains easy because all states (but one, probably Hawaii) mandate carrying tire chains in the winter even if a 4x4 with snow tires. Tire weight is 55# plus that of a steel wheel and no problem with the weight. BTW, tire cover not shown but I use one that is personalized for my VFW Post.

If you need a license plate relocator I would suggest item # LPL55CB as it has a heavy duty plastic housing so you do not have to worry about rust.

I feel much safer having the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier with a spare tire attached. I was not able to have a spare tire on my vehicle before getting the carrier. However, I am disappointed that I am unable to open the rear doors of my RAM Promaster Cargo Van without completely removing the tire and carrier.

We have had this mounted to our 2016 Georgetown 328TS for about a year now. Works great. Even though we haven't needed the spare, it's added peace of mind that we are prepared if we ever do need it.

I’ve been trying for over a year to find a spare tire carrier that can hold a giant wheel and tire without costing a fortune. Somehow I found this one made for RV’s and it’s perfect! It fits my wheel and tire perfectly and looks good on my Excursion. I can still open the back glass when the tire is up and I can open both barn doors when the tire is down to the side. This carrier is very well made and easy to put together. It also allows me to throw a bike rack or small trailer behind it if I need to. I’m so glad that I got this and can have the interior space back that my spare tire was taking up.
For reference my wheel is a Pro Comp 18x9 with a 35x12.50 BFG All-Terrain tire mounted on it. It’s a big heavy spare and this carrier has no issue with it. It’s so easy to swing up and down too. I 100% recommend this!

Order arrived in record time. I missed somewhere in the product details that towing weight would be reduced by a third. That knocks Dow the 5000 towing package to approximately 3700 pounds! Package missing 2 nylon washers for tire mounting bolts 3500 Sprinter Wayfarer tires 215/85/R16 tire is too wide to mount properly. It looks like I need to add 1 & 1/2 inch spacers and longer bolts. Have you any solutions for me that will work. Otherwise, the unit looks great and sturdy and solves my light towing problems.

I wanted to reach out to you and let you know two things: 1. I spoke with Roadmaster who confirmed that in this case you can use longer spacer and bolt with the carrier to mount the tire. You can use automotive spacers if you want, just have to have make sure the hardware is tight when used. 2. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you about the missing hardware.

Very happy with the RoadMaster spare tire carrier #195125 I installed on our 2017 mb sprinter 2500. This is a heavy duty unit that looks great and works as advertised. With the exception of installing the two nylon washers between the shaft and main hitch it was easy to install and easy to operate.

Brilliant. It was a great option for this sprinter van.

great customer service, arrived on time; very happy with the product - it works GREAT on my Travato.

Excellent design let us put a bike rack on the end of it or even pull our motorized car behind it works great

The tire carrier works great. We’re getting ready to move it to a newer RV but it’ll just pop right in the 2 inch receiver hitch. No problem.

This spare tire carrier fits great on my 2020 Winnebago Travato!
Easy installation, and I feel so much safer knowing I’ve got a spare tire onboard!

Received the spare tire carrier and seems to be exactly what I needed. Built very solid did not receive the handle that went with it but called and received one within four days no issues great service

The product is's designed for a van, I believe, so in saying this the it should stick out of the reciever a little further. Once installed I could only open the back doors far enough to arm in. I have a 6" reciever extension that I used which allowed me to open the back doors. Once the tire was in place i was only able to open the doors enough for me to squeeze through. Thus is no big deal though if you swing the tire down to one side or the other. Then the doors open fully.
For a long trip this is still piece of mind knowing I can fix a flat on the road and not stranded.... especially in areas of no cell service. No complaints from me.

Still like the item and has worked out great. No complaints

This is truely an exceptional product. Its robustness and convenient features are exceptional. I had a 40lb toolbox mounted on top of my spare tire, as well as a 2.5 gallon gas can on top of the toolbox. The unit held up flawlessly, even with the burden of the extra weight, even on REALLY bad roads I encountered traveling through Canada and Alaska...all the way to the Artic Circle; a round trip of 20,000 miles in 6-months. While the size/offset on my wheel was was too deep to mount it directly to the the anchor flange, the use of longer bolts with about 10 washers apiece held securely to the mount plate with jam nuts worked beautifully. AsA retired mechanical engineer, I highly recommend this Roadmaster spare tire carrier.

I had to find a way to be able to use the camper door without be required to remove the motorcycle trailer from my 1972 Chevrolet Blazer with a pop up camper. Mounting the spare tire on the front of the vehicle resulted in engine overheating during the hot summer months. It works exactly as designed.

I bought this spare tire carrier for my Mercedes Sprinter camper van for 3 reasons; 1. To free up significant storage space inside my camper by moving the spare tire outside, 2. To be able to easily swivel my spare tire out of the way to access the storage area at the back of my van, and 3. To be able to use my bike rack to carry 2 electric bikes. Perfect solution for me!

I recently retired from a career as a millwright/welder/machine builder, and I have to tell you, etrailers design and quality of their spare tire carrier exceeded my expectations. One thing I did was design and build a portable storage cart to facilitate easy installation and removal from my hitch. I had spent a couple of weeks designing a spare tire carrier that I planned to build myself prior to discovering etrailer's model. I quickly abandoned my plans upon the discovery. No sorry I did. Great product reasonably priced.

Great instructions, easy setup. Used on our Sprinter Van that didn’t have room for a spare tire.

Well, the build quality is excellent and it is unique in the industry in the way that it can lower and raise the tire. As I get older, I don't think that I could lift a heavy tire anymore to put it on a rack. The problem is that this product is supposed to be designed for 'smaller' vans and class c's, but it only works for non-dually models. Therefore, it does not work well for Sprinter 3500-based RV's. On a 3500, all 6 wheels are identical, even though it has a dually configuration in the back. This product is designed to have the mounting plate mount to the 'inside' of the rim. However, the 'arm' that holds the mounting plate is not nearly long enough to do that on 3500 rims. You could mount the outside of the rim to the plate, but that isn't how it was designed and has a number of issues. They say to use the 195225-s model for dually wheels. Well, the 195225 is made for Class A-size tires. It is 30 pounds heavier and costs $XXX more. I still think that it is the best carrier out there and am going to modify it to work for me. Roadmaster could easily fix this problem by using the mounting plate for the 195225 and putting it on the 195125. With almost no engineering effort, they would add a new product and make it work for the 3500-based RV's. As is, it does not work for the 3500. I only gave the product 2 stars because I have to incur the expense and time to modify it to work with our 3500-based RV. If it came with the mounting plate welded directly on the post, it would have gotten 5 stars because it is a very well made product,

This spare tire carrier provided a solution that not only made it possible to carry a spare but made handling the tire easier.

We purchased the Roadmaster spare tire carrier a year ago. It was easy to assemble and it is easy to use. Even though we have not had a flat, getting into the trunk area on our RV is super easy. I would recommend the Roadmaster spare tire carrier to anyone looking to carry a spare, if not originally equipped, for their RV. We are very happy and pleased we made the peace of mind decision.

A very nice, robust and well-engineered item. The only thing I would improve upon is tapping the hole for the received pin bolt with fine threads instead of coarse. In my opinion, there is not enough wall thickness for a coarse thread. I improved the design on my application by drilling and tapping it for a 5/8" fine thread bolt (with a nylock nut on the exposed threads)for a more permanent, secure attachment, since I mounted a heavy 315/70-17 tire and wheel on it. Other than that, a very nice item that will work as-is for most applications.

Perfect I handler’s the weight of the big tire.
