This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur.
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole through the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole through the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Sturdy, Corrosion-Resistant Construction
Made of sturdy steel, this straight-tongue coupler features a durable black powder coat finish that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is constructed of a durable composite material that's corrosion-proof, allowing it to withstand whatever the road and the elements dish out.

Speaker: Today, we're going to take a look at the Demco E-Z latch Channel Tongue trailer coupler for the 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch balls. Has a 21,000-pound weight capacity. Now this straight tongue coupler is made of a sturdy steel construction, has a nice durable, black powder coat finish over it. And that black powder coat finish will help resist corrosion. And it does meet the 500-hour salt spray rating. So it's great for marine applications. This is a channel tongue coupler, lets you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle.
And right here you can see is your connection point for your 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball. Now this coupler is unique because it uses this E-Z latch coupler mechanism, which ensures a nice, fast, simple, secure hookup and disconnect. Basically it'll let you hook up when this latch is in the closed position like it is now. You just drop this coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place and secure it.I just wanted to demonstrate that. I happen to pull, here's a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball that it fits on.
So you can see as you put it on there, and it goes down, you can see that it latches into place, and it stays closed, and you're ready to go. To release it, all you have to do is pull all the way up on this E-Z latch, and it'll release it from the ball, simple as that. Again, just to drop it on, put it on there, and it drops on there. Now this E-Z latch is a corrosion-proof polymer, nylon resin, composite latch handle. It's very durable and impact resistant. And this can also be locked to your hitch ball.
You see this hole right here on the side, it's a 5/16 inch diameter pin hole. You can buy a 5/16 inch diameter coupler pin lock that'll go through there. And on the other side, you put your lock, so it'll lock it to your trailer so nobody can take it.Now, when you do buy the lock, you do want to make sure that it has a minimum span that's needed for this pin lock is three inches, when you buy a lock to use on this. This is a bolt-on installation. If you see here on the side, has the five bolt holes on the case.
Now the hardware to install this is not included. This part is made in the USA. Mounting for this again, it's designed to mount on a three-inch wide straight channel tongue. You can see if I measure the inside of that, it's right at three inches.Again, the ball size it fits on is a 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball. And the weight capacity is 21,000 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Demco E-Z latch Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler for the 2-5/16 diameter hitch ball.

Straight-tongue coupler is made of sturdy steel with a durable black powder coat finish. eZ-Latch ensures fast, easy, secure hookup and disconnect. Bolts onto your 3" wide trailer tongue. 5-Hole bolt-on case. It's heavy duty and made well, but with the offset bottom not able to use as I intended with my TrailerValet.
This coupler is the best I've ever had. The mechanism for locking the coupler on the ball pulls the ball in so you don't have to fiddle forever to get it lined up right. And it holds firmly, so even on the steep, incredibly bumpy mountain roads leading to my house, it keeps the trailer under control. I would definitely buy it again if I ever need another coupler.
Big heavy coupler, bolted right up us on old holes from surge brake controller, grade 5 - 5/8 bolts was stamped on the coupler.
The shipper must have dropped as coupler was hanging out the box. Cardboard box should have been a bit more beefy to hold such a heavy piece of Steel. Coupler pudhed through the side of the box. No damage took a couple at all
Very strong and well engineered
Quick service. Excellent product.
