Today, we're going to do a review on part number F222000301, the Fulton Fas-Lok Trailer Coupler design to fit a 2" hitch ball, fits on a 2" channel. This coupler is a trigger latch style. It has a Z-Max 600 finish. It offers superior corrosion resistance. It does fit a hitch ball size of 2". The channel, we'll measure that it fits on is 2" wide.

And other measurement we will need is the diameter. The distance between the side mounting holes, we'll measure center-to-center would be 3". This coupler has a weight capacity of 3,500 pounds. And that should do it for a review of part number F222000301.

Very happy with this purchase and others. I bought several products from etrailer when rebuilding a trailer I got from my Son in Law. I found the various videos describing the products I purchased were extremely informative and removed doubt about whether I was getting the correct Item. I now have a rebuilt trailer that is reliable and just what I needed to haul my four wheeler. Thanks for your help!

Here are some photos of my installation with the Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler, 2" Ball, 2" Channel - 3,500 lbs and the Tow Ready Interchangeable Hitch Ball Set with 1-7/8" and 2" Hitch Balls:

by:

Just what I wanted. Just what I received.
Thanks etrailer.

by:

I replaced the smaller hitch coupler on my log splitter with this 2" one so that all our trailers are consistent and I don't have to swith balls. New hitch coupler works fine. I'm using it in a very lightweight application so not much of a challenge for it but I'm happy with it and would purchase again.

I bought a axle, springs wheels, hubs etc. to build a utility trailer, I inadvertently had ordered incompatible hubs for the selected axle the person filling the order noticed this and contacted customer service to alert them of the issue who then called me to correct the problem. This saved me the time and expense of returning the part and delaying the project. great service, attentive, knowledgeable employees and great products.
Thanks E trailer.

Product was delivered as advertised and on time. I was trying to modify an older trailer with a tongue that was too long. I was able to shorten the tongue and easily mount this hitch.

by:

Standard bolt holes, does what it needs to.

by:

I upgraded my 8" trailer tires to 12". The boat rides alot smoother on the trailer. The tires came on-time and were as described. I tow this trailer to various sailing regattas in our area, usually within 25 miles. The coupler is well built, although I did not get to install it yet. I replaced the T-One vehicle wiring harness, as the Honda harness failed after 9 years.

by:

Great product. Installed nice and easy on my older, "home brew" kayak trailer. Hardest part was drilling the four 1/2" holes in the tough. I clamped the coupler to the toungh, and used the coupler's holes as guides.

3"x1/2" Grade 8 bolts were used to have enough length for split ring lock washers.

Latch mechanism is nice and smooth.

I ordered multiple items from etrailer and the experience was perfect. The products arrived exactly as described with super fast shipping (standard option). The communication was frequent and thorough. This company knows good customer service. I didn't have any issues, but don't have any worries with this company if any come up.

by:

etrailer was very helpful in providing other dimensions since I needed a replacement for an old Fulton and did not want to drill new holes and weaken the tongue. They found one that had the proper bolt spacing and locations for my existing holes. Still had to cut ~ 1/8" off the end of the tongue for all to fit. Nice coupler, great service!

by:

product is made well and think should last. The only problem would like to see the bolts inculed to connect coupler to frame of trailer. My old one spring broke in release latch and this one came just in time before having to use trailer moving household. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!( will use etrailer again)

by:

Ordered the 2" Ball, 2"Channel Fulton Fast Lok to replace the old
1 7/8 on my utility trailer. Hard to find 2x2, not as common, but etrailer.com had in stock and delivered fast. Thanks guys.

by:

Easy installation, works like it's supposed to. Replaced a coupler which was a couple yearts old and never worked properly.
Arrived quicker than promised.
All good.

I just wanted to say how pleased I am about my latest order! I ordered 4 items Tues. evening & received them 2 days later! I have ordered from you several times & have been pleased every time! Thank you so much!!!

by:

great service & fast shipping . i am a repeat customer, and will be again!!! hard to find a 2" channel with a 2 " ball . they had it in stock & was shipped the same day i ordered it . great quality .

by:

No, all stamped steel ball couplers aren't the same! I've used cheaper ones, and they are a crapshoot. They have poor tolerances and therefore can be stiff and hard to handle. The Fas-Lok works every time, all the time, and it looks as good after a year or two as the day I first installed it.

by:

Solidly built & smooth lever operation. Perfect fit on my ancient 2"x3" box section boat trailer.

by:

Wish i had replaced this earlier on our small utility trailer. It is so much easier to use.

by:

Simple, strong bolt-on solution for the small camping trailer I'm building.

by:

First of all the packaging was stellar. May not sound like much but says alot about the culture of the company. Have not installed the product yet so can’t attest to the functionality however the quality is top knotch. Will definitely make future purchases.

by:

Good coupler for the price but shipping was very poor and box broke open on deliver as packed very bad in a poor weak box

by:

Fit perfectly! Shipping took two days cant beat etrailer

  • Replacement 2 inch Fulton Coupler for Trailer With Damaged Latch
I really wish we had a coupler repair kit that would fit what you sent in a picture of. But the best option we have would be to replace the coupler. It looks like you had a coupler similar to the # F222000301. This is a 3,500 lb rated coupler that is designed for a 2 inch hitch ball like what you currently have.

  • Is there a Difference Between Fulton Couplers # 222000101 and # 222000301
There actually is no difference between the two part numbers you referenced. Both of them are the Fulton Coupler # F222000301. The difference in part number is in how they are packaged when we receive them. I attached a review video for this coupler for you to check out as well.

  • Repairing Coupler Latch On Fulton Fas-Lock Trailer Coupler
A repair kit is not available for your Fulton Fas-Lock Coupler but I do have a solution for you. If your coupler is welded on the trailer tongue you can purchase a coupler like part # F222000301 and remove the parts you need to repair the coupler you have on your trailer. If your coupler is bolted to the trailer you can check out the link I have provided to find a suitable replacement.

Anytime you modify a part, it can compromise the safety and integrity of that product. I can not recommend to modify the Fulton Trailer Coupler, part # F222000301. I do not have any bolt-on couplers with a mounting hole spacing of 2-1/8 inches. The mounting holes are all at the industry standard of 3 inches.

To bolt the Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler in place, I would recommend using two 1/2 inch by 2-1/2 or 2-3/4 inch grade 8 bolts. We do not offer the bolts, but they should be readily available at your local hardware store.

If your utility trailer has a 2 inch wide by 3 inch tall square tube pole tongue and the capacity of the trailer is 3,500 lbs or less, the Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler, # F222000301, will work great for you. You can measure the distance between the mounting bolts on your original coupler to see if new holes will need to be drilled for installation of this coupler. You would need to select the coupler that matches the hitch ball size and weight capacity you need for your trailer. • Where Can VIN Number Be Found on Boat Trailer?
VIN numbers are sometimes difficult to find on trailers as there is not a specific required position but they are usually imprinted somewhere in the metal. They can be posted anywhere along the frame rails, but most often are found near the coupler. If no VIN number can be found, you can contact the State Highway Patrol to have them issue you one for your trailer so you can properly register it.

The 1-7/8 inch coupler # DL23870 has a hole spacing of 2-1/2 inches. If you go to a 2 inch ball coupler you will have to drill at least 1 new hole through the tongue.

You should note that this installs on a trailer tongue that is 2 inches wide. It would not be used in conjunction with a bike rack at all.
