Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Shocker Air Lunette Ring Trailer Tongue Mount with the vertical channel mount, has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this is a shock absorbing trailer lunette ring, features the industrial strength air bag and the cushion bump stops on each side here to help dampen chucking and road shock. The Shocker Air system is a miniature air suspension unit that'll mount between your truck and your trailer, and it add life to your truck and your trailer by reducing the wear and tear on the truck' drive line and frame as well as the frame of the trailer, so allows you to treat yourself, your equipment, and even your passengers to a much smoother ride. This does bolt to a trailer vertical channel mount on the front of your trailer, A-frame style trailer, often used on equipment and end dump trailers. It is designed to fit a three inch wide inside diameter channel with the two inch on center bolt pattern.
And I just wanna a measure that to show you what we're talking about. Here's your three inch wide, so it fits into a vertical mount channel that's three inches inside diameter, and then the measurement from the center of each adjustment hole is gonna be right at two inches. And it will secure to that vertical mount with either 5/8 inch diameter pins and clips, or 5/8 inch by 4 1/2 inch long bolts. Now basically, this air hitch will work like a seesaw with this air bag on one end and on your trailer coupler on the other end. Basically, what happens is as your trailer exerts force, upward, downward, backward, or forward, the unit pivots, and this air bag and the bump stops on each side right here will absorb the energy for a lot smoother ride.
This is made with a Grade 50 steel plate construction and it is shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust. Now, the air bag on this, it is an easily adjustable air bag. Basically, all you'd have to do is right up here is your valve stem, you just take off your cap, attach your air hose to that, pump in air if you need it, take out air if you need to take it out, and basically the best way to decide how much air you want in that bag is you wanna load your trailer the way it's gonna be when you tow it, and then hook your air hose up, inflate the air bag till these bump stops right here start to compress. Once they start to compress, you hit the right air pressure, remove your air hose, put your cap back on, and your air bags all set to go. Also, if you noticed, the pivot bolt right here and on the other side, on the end, it has a nice grease zerk fitting at the pivot point, this makes your maintenance really simple, you just attach your grease gun to that zerk fitting, pump in the grease, and it'll let you maintain and grease the pivot point.
This part is made in the USA. Few specs on this, the gross towing weight capacity is 20,000 pounds, tongue weight capacity of 2,000 pounds. And the last thing I wanna do is just give you the measurement of the lunette ring. The overall diameter, from this end to this end, if we put a ruler on that, you can see it's gonna be right at six inches, and then the inside diameter of the ring is gonna be right at three inches. But that should do it for the review on the Shocker Air Lunette Ring Trailer Tongue Mount with the vertical channel mount and a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity..
