This sturdy D-ring serves as an attachment point for tie-down straps and bungee cords wherever you need cargo control. The recessed design allows you to roll cargo over the ring and is zinc-plated for corrosion resistance. Includes mounting bracket.

Features:

  • D-ring anchor provides tie-down point in your utility trailer or truck bed
    • Perfect for securing a rope, cargo net, bungee cord, or ratchet strap (sold separately)
  • 360-Degree swivel lets you rotate D-ring so you can easily attach straps from any angle
  • Recessed, low-profile design helps prevent D-ring from interfering as you roll cargo in and out of your trailer or truck bed
  • Backing plate reinforces the surface of your trailer where the tie-down is attached
  • Zinc-plated steel resists rust and corrosion
  • Bolt-on installation on flat surface
    • Cut a hole in your trailer or truck bed for the recessed portion of the D-ring to sit inside

Specs:

  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 2,000 lbs
  • Anchor:
    • Base diameter: 6-5/16"
    • Recess: 7/8"
    • D-ring thickness: 1/4"
  • Backing plate dimensions: 6-1/2" long x 6-1/2" wide x 1/8" thick
  • Limited 1-year warranty

Distance between mounting holes and dimensions of Brophy D-ring anchor

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

Tie-down rings installed easily and are more sturdy and heavy duty than I expected. The swivel is nice as it makes the anchorage more versatile. Plus they look great.

Ive now hauled a couple vehicles in the trailer, utilizing these anchors. I would definitely buy again, and as a matter of fact I am planning to get a few more to install. I just need a few more so I have more tie-down options.

by:

I installed of these as part of my project to replace the floor of my 16 ft. utility trailer. I was able to drill and chisel the countersink without too much trouble. It is challenging to drill the holes for the bolts to align perfectly with the bottom bracket. In fact, I am not sure I could have done so with all the other boards installed. I recommend doing this as part of a new floor install. I Lao agree with some other comments that the bolt holes are very close to the countersink hole. This makes it very difficult to avoid collapsing the bolt drill hole into the countersink hole, which further affects the ability to drill straight. I think if I were to do it again, I’d mark the boards, take them off the trailer, and use a drill press. All that said, I really like the look and function of these anchors. I think they will perform well in the rough-sawn oak floor. Here are some pics of the finished job:

by:

Just remember, these are rated to 6000 lbs, but the floor board they're bolted to probably aren't. You'll definitely want a steel backer behind these if you're really going to crank down on them.
These were additional tie downs for a race car, so I welded 3/16" plate between the trailer's frame rails and bolted through those.

by:

Great product, just what we needed. We had to make some deliveries recently in the rain, and the only drawback was that they filled up with water. Would have been nice to have some drain holes (we drilled our own). A little labor intensive to install on a metal diamond plate truck bed.

by:

A good starting kit out of the box. I drilled drain holes in the wells of the bracket to allow rain water a path out. The backing plate holes are a little tight and the mounting hardware assembles easier if those holes are drilled out one or two drill sizes larger. Installed on a steel deck trailer very nicely.

by:

These things are huge.
Fit and finish
are better than expected.
I received a complete order down to every nut and lock washer.
I couldn’t find this style and load rating anywhere else.
Very pleased.
I used a 4 1/2” hole saw, works perfectly....not sure why the instructional video calls for 4 3/4”

by:

We installed these in two of our flatbed delivery trucks, and they work great!
The drivers are very happy with the ease of being able to tie things down without having to use the hooks underneath the flatbed.

by:

I like the flexibility of the swiveling D-ring and it's recessed in the floor.

by:

Perfect fit! Can always trust etrailer to get it right.

Product is amazing!!! Makes anchoring down objects a breeze.

This product is amazing and still going strong

Bought these tie downs to install on a new utility trailer I purchased for hauling my motorcycle around. I would have given them 5 stars but the installation was a little more of a pain than I thought it would be. If you are not comfortable with using a router, you might be better off buying a different setup or using a buddy to help install. Otherwise, these are great tie downs.

A year in and these are still holding up great.

Great products and service

by:

Added these to my trailer so I could secure our side x sides separately. They are an exact match to the ones installed from the factory by Kiefer on our trailer. Rated for 6000 lbs. and appear to be very capable. I will definitely do business with etrailer again as they answered all my questions and were very helpful picking out a weight distribution hitch for my set up as well. Thanks etrailer!

by:

I purchased these swiveling D-rings to install on my gooseneck trailer for strapping down vehicles and other items that are awkward to strap using the D-rings on the rub rails. I haven’t installed them yet but the product likes to be good quality. I like how it’s a complete package with the hardware and the backing plate included. The only thing I would change is that I’d rather have carriage bolts instead of regular hex bolts just to have a smoother finish, but I’m overly picky. The only reason I gave the D-rings a 4 star rating is b/c I haven’t installed or used them yet.

I received my package in a timely manner and everything was packaged nicely. I have had good luck so far with using Etrailer.com and would recommend them to anyone.

by:

Very versatile and strong. Hooked 3 motorcycles at once using this as one of the anchors.

by:

The quality of this product is extremely good. Using on 16ft tandem trailer to haul Argo Aurora with no issues. These work great as tie downs for smaller items such as furniture and cabinets also.

by:

Excellent communication and fast shippi ng.

by:

I received these a couple of days after ordering. The quality is great. I plan to modify the trailer deck tomorrow to install them. They are even better than what I thought they would be.

I bought these as tie down points for a Harbor Freight trailer - overkill I know. But they work great.

by:

I don't know why no one else has reviewed this kit yet, but in any case I am sending mine back because of the lack of carriage bolts. I had watched the install video of the 5K version which has carriage bolts (and square holes). I prefer the design of these, but wish they were about 2/3rds the size and came with square holes and carriage bolts. The steel is really thick, so filing square holes by hand is a chore (I tried with a Dremel tool also). Who wants to deal with sharp hex bolts sticking up to snag everything when done? Not me. Too much hassle to fix more than a couple of them by hand. FYI the included bolts are 5/16" x 2.25" zinc-plated hex heads.

by:

Great product. Needed the 7inch of drop for my lifted truck.
Hitch is easy to install. Very well built. Heavy duty.

by:

These have proven to be very versatile in tying down everything from furniture to motorcycles. They are easy enough to install although I did change out the bolts supplied to a round head to make them less snag prone when sliding cargo over them. I made sure when I drilled the holes through the floor I was right next to a c channel of the frame so at least one bolt was going through a frame member in addition to the backing plate. They are very well made and strong. I would highly recommend these over the standard d rings that I had in my last trailer.

by:

Works as described.

Works great

by:

Items arrived ahead of schedule and packed very well. Both items I ordered were reasonably priced and very high quality. I'm sure they will easily cover my rigging needs adequately. I recommend e-trailer as a quality vendor. You may be able to get items less expensive in other locations however beware of the quality when you do. Safety has a price.

by:

Very fast shipping, came with a bottom doubler plate and hardware. Very substantial tiedowns! I am dressing a 12X7 box trailer to carry motorcycles and these tiedowns will be just the ticket!

Very good product

  • Recessed Ratchet Strap or D-Ring Anchors
We may have a solution for you and it sounds like you are looking for a recessed mount for your ratchet straps so nothing is sticking up out of the floor of your enclosed trailer. The CargoBuckle G3 Retractable Ratchet Tie-Down Strap - Flush Mount # IMF18804 is a great option for something like this because it will mount beneath the floor of your cargo trailer (the mounting hardware is included). The ratchet straps is self-retracting so when you are not using the buckles they will retract...

  • Difference Between Brophy Tie-Down # RR06 And # RR6K
There is no difference between the D-Ring Tie Down, part # RR06 and the tie-down that is included in the # RR6K other than the backing plate and the mounting hardware. the D-Ring is the same for both of these items. These have a capacity of 6,000 lbs and a safe working load limit of 2,000 lbs. These are a bolt-on design. The recessed ring swivels 360 degrees. I have attached a photo of the tie-down that shows the dimensions you can check out.

  • Recessed D Ring Recommendation for Securing 4k Vehicle to Enclosed Car Hauler
For a 4,000 lb car the Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Anchor w Backing Plate and Hardware # RR6K that you referenced would work well. These have a 2,000 lb working load limit and if you used 4 of these (one on each corner of the vehicle) you'd be good. Since your floor is 3/4 inch plywood I'd recommend attaching the backing plate of this kit to a metal crossmember so that you have a more sturdy connection point.

  • Difference Between Brophy Swivel D-Ring Anchors # RR6K and # RR06

  • Is 3/4" Plywood Strong Enough to Secure The Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Anchor # RR6K Full Working Load?
For the amount of weight you are securing with the Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Anchor # RR6K you will need to add some additional support to the anchors. The 3/4' plywood is not strong enough to hold your 4,000lb car in place. You can add some additional bracing or a larger steel backer to connect to floor crossmembers which will better secure the D-rings to your trailer.

This installs with D-Rings so if you don't already have some on your trailer, I recommend picking up the D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # RR6K because it's rated high enough to handle the working load limit of the tie-down strap, and it has the hidden design so the floor sits more even when you aren't using...
