How Counteract Tire Balancing Works
Once your tire begins to roll, the beads will get distributed around its interior thanks to centrifugal force. As the wheel continues to spin, the heavy spot in your unbalanced tire will pull up and down on your vehicle's suspension. This will cause the beads to shift in the opposite direction of that pull. Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the Counteract Single 10-ounce Bag of Tire Balancing Beads. Now, these Counteract balancing beads are the economical way to balance your tire and wheel assembly for the lifetime of the tire. These beads are designed to install inside your tire. I'm gonna zoom in and show you up close.
This is a 10-ounce bag. So when you do receive this bag, basically you'll just tear off the very top, which I've already done. And then just dump out what's on the inside. Now we're gonna go through all these pieces. First, you'll have a 10-ounce bag of balancing beads.
You'll have this vortex valve core, and you'll have the self-sealing valve caps. There's either a, this regular cap or the double-seal flow-through cap. These are all included. Now, these beads are made of a coated glass sphere. They are balancing beads which will not cause damage to the inner liner of your tire and they won't clump, regardless of the excess moisture.
And they are TPMS compatible. Now, they are environmentally-friendly construction. They are reusable and recyclable. Now how these Counteract beads will balance your tire, I just wanted to show you that. We're gonna put up a little insert, just to show you.
Basically when your tire begins to roll, this bag on the inside of the tire will break open, and the beads will get distributed around its interior, thanks to centrifugal force. So as that wheel continues to spin, the heavy spot in your unbalanced tire will pull up and down on your vehicle suspension, and this will cause the beads to shift in the opposite direction of that pull. So the beads will continue to migrate until there are enough of them on the opposite of that heavy spot, to balance out your tire. And these tire balancing beads will continuously and automatically readjust the balance of your trailer truck or off road tire. They do reduce vibration and ensure even wear, to increase the life of the tire. They'll also improve fuel economy. They are an easy installation. You just throw this inner bag into the tire when it's removed from the wheel, or you can inject these beads into the valve stem. The beads do remain inside the tire. They won't come loose to contaminate the environment. And they will not cause any damage to your wheels. One note I do wanna mention, is if your tire has internal TPMS sensors, you will need to break down the tire to install these beads. Application for this 10-ounce bag is 19.5-inch to 22.5-inch heavy truck tires, 19.5-inch trailer tires, and 15-inch to 22-inch off road tires. Now to order the correct amount of beads needed for your application, you will get the size of the tire from the sidewall of your trailer or vehicle, and then match it to the tire sizes that are listed on the product page for that size bag of beads. They do come in different sized bags. We do carry all of 'em. This one is a 10-ounce bag. And if you go to the product page of this part number there's a list of all the sizes this will work on. Now in order to reduce the possibility of any valve waste, the use of this Counteract valve cork and either one of those metal valve caps is recommended in place of the original valve core and cap, and they are included in every bag of the Counteract beads. As we mentioned, these are TPMS compatible. They are made in the USA, and it is for a quantity of one bag of beads for one tire. I love them. Went on a trip from Buffalo, N.Y. To Branson, Missouri and the ride was as smooth as could be. No vibration at all at speeds up to 90 miles an hour..

Counter Act balance beads are an excellent product, I have used them in my motorcycle tires for years. This is the first time I have ordered a set for truck tires.

Balance beads do not work in jeep wheels! I even called the manufacturer to make sure I was using the correct amount for my application.

I have a 1970 VW van with 14" wheels that most shops can't balance because they lack the adapter ring to fit the wheels. This system did not work on my gmc retain or series pickup. The fire monitor in the valve stem seems to impede the head flow. Wish that was mentioned in description. Now I'm stuck with an expensive tool that does not meet my needs.

WARNING on the packaging on these - each outer bag contains an inner bag of beads + a valve stem + a valve cap + a valve extension. The valve parts are just loose inside the outer bag. Problem is, it wasn't clear that the valve parts are even included with the product, and on 3 of the 4 I received, the inner bag was broken. The inner bag was broken on the first one I opened, so not knowing any better, I just dumped the whole thing in the tire and sealed it up, not realizing I had sealed up valve parts in my tires! The second one I opened had in intact inner bag, so I realized my mistake. I had to break the bead on the first tire to get the valve parts out! I haven't driven on them yet, so not sure how well they work, but thought folks she be forewarned about the packaging issue.
Excellent tool! We use this often to install bead balancing on preassembled tires on trailers and trucks. It does have a learning curve (cant feed it too fast) but once you figure it out, it is perfect for the job. Just ordered a replacement in Aug '22, the replacement came preassembled and the hoses were backwards, a simple fix.
Very easy to use. Cannot rush the installing of the beads through the valve stem.As they will log jam up. Slow and stead fill with positioning the valve stem at the bottom of the wheel. Not sure if this would work well with TPMS wheel sensors. Would probably be better to have the tires broken of their beads by a automotive shop and put in that way.
