Installation

Installation Step 1

1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.

Installation Step 2

2. Connect the yellow and blue cable at the back of the tire.

Installation Step 3

3. Push the cable into place behind the tire and center the cross chains on the tire's tread. Then, on the front side of the tire, join the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook.

Installation Step 4

4. Feed the silver draw chain with the rubber tensioner through the red channel at the bottom and pull it tight. Then run the tensioner through the red rings. (Note: Depending on your tire size, you might not be able to thread through both rings.) Pull the tensioner across the tire and fasten it to the yellow chain on the opposite side.

Installation Step 5

5. Pull your vehicle forward and retighten the chain.

Class "S" Designation

SAE Class "S" tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. Certain newer cars, vans and small trucks, especially those with large, aftermarket tires, may require Class "S" chains.

SAE Class S Clearances

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for 215/85R16 Tires on 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500
I recommend using the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains XB16 # TH01571245 for the 215/85R16 tires on your 2016 MB Sprinter van. These are designed for a heavier vehicle like what you have and will do a great job at helping you stay mobile in the snow. If you're looking for something a little more cost-effective then we have the Titan Chain # TC2317 which will get the job done but isn't as good of quality as the Konig chains. For example, the Konig chains come with a 5-year limited warranty...

  • Snow Chain Recommendations for Tire Size 245/60-18
Since I don't know what year Honda CR-V you have I can't look up the owners manual to see what is recommended for tire chains. So what you can do is grab the manual and check out the snow chains section and if there are any restrictions they will be listed. I like to flip to the end of the manual and use the index at the end to find what page that will be on as that seems to be the easiest way. For your tire size of 245/60-18 the option I recommend the highest is the Konig Easy Fit Chains...

  • Do Titan Snow Tire Chains TC2317 Fit 2023 Mazda CX-5 With 225/55-19 Tires
Yes they will; you're 100 percent right that for your 2023 Mazda CX-5 with 225/55-19 tires, the correct Titan snow tire chains are the following: - Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2317 Along with these we always recommend using adjusters to ensure a consistently tight fit at all times. For that use the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjusters # TCMA1.

For your 2018 Volvo XC60 with limited clearance, I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair # TC2317 as the best reasonably priced set. This will give you durable chains with integrated tensioners. The square link and diamond pattern work well together for traction and stopping power. I've attached a video of this installation to assist.

  • Class S/Low Profile Snow Chain Recommendation for 2011 Audi Q5 w/ 235/55R19 Tires
Looks like you did your homework and have a good idea on exactly what you need. The Titan Chain part # TC2317 would be perfect for you. The price is great on these chains, they are pretty easy to install, and will actually work really well if you do need them. These chains are S rated as well like your owners manual says you would need. I attached a review video for these chains for you to check out as well.

  • Comparing Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains TC2317 and TC2517 for 215/85R16 Tires
The only difference between the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2317 and part # TC2517 which are both fits for 215/85R16 tires is that the 2317 are class s compatible and the 2517 are not. The non-class s compatible tire chains have thicker links so they will offer more grip but you also need to take into consideration vehicle clearance. I recommend checking the owner's manual of the vehicle under the tire chain section to see if class s required as most vehicles today do.

Yes, we do have a similar pattern of tire chains like the # TC2323 that will fit your 2021 Subaru Ascent with a tire size of 245/60-18. For the correct fit, you will need the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2317. These chains come with the same diamond-shaped pattern and include the same manganese nickel alloy construction as the # TC2323.

  • Can Tire Chains Be Used on All 4 Wheels of 2019 Toyota Highlander
Your 2019 Highlander was equipped with either 245/55-19 or 245/60-18 tires. If you have the 245/60-18 tire size, the Titan # TC2517 would fit, but you'll want to use Class S chains like # TC2317 to provide the proper clearance between the inside of the tire and suspension/steering/braking components. If you have the 245/55-19 size, you'd use # TC2324 which is also class S compatible for maximum clearance. The owner's manual recommends using chains on the front wheels only.

  • Tire Chains for a Mercedes Sprinter RV with LT215/85-16 Tires
The first thing you are going to want to do is consult the Sprinter owners manual for specific information on the use of tire chains. If you need Class S chains which require the least amount of clearance around the tire I recommend Glacier square-link chains # TC2317. The square-links offer the best traction and they are constructed of low-carbon steel so they should last you a long time especially if they will not be used very often. You would also want rubber adjusters, # PW99 to help...

  • Installing Snow Chains on 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Roadtrek with Dual Tires
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Roadtrek and under the snow chain section it does state that traction devices should only be used on the rear axle and they need to be specifically rated for use on vehicles with limited wheel-well clearance. Furthermore on dually models you should only use chains on the outside wheels (not on both). As long as you have chains appropriate for your particular vehicle (enough to cover the rear axle...

The part number you referenced is for Security Chain Company TC2111MM chains and the closest we have to that for the 235/55-19 tires on your 2020 Honda CR-V Glacier Cable Tire Chains # PW1046. Cables chains will keep you street legal but they won't really help out if you need actual traction. So if these are to just have them on hand for legal purposes you're good to go. • Are Rubber Adjusters Needed for Cable Tire Chains on a 2011 Audi Q5 with 235/55-19 Sized Tires
Cable chains, like the Titan Chain Cable Tire Chains part # TC2019, do not have any type of tightening built into them so rubber adjusters are almost always needed. For adjusters I recommend the Glacier Multi-Arm, part # PW103. I like the design with the metal ring in the middle because if one arm were to break you still have 5 other arms to keep the chains tight on your tires. The cable chains are for very limited use and really won't supply a lot of traction for you. If you plan to...

The Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC2029 will fit the P245/60R18 tires on your 2017 Toyota Highlander. These are a cost-effective way to stay legal in areas that require you to have traction devices but if you're looking for something to help you get through snow then we need to look at actual chains because cables won't help at all - the light snow rating basically just means snow that you can get through without chains. Please note that cable chains don't provide much traction and are basically only good for staying legal where chains are required.
