V-Bar Icebreakers
The V-shaped studs (also known as icebreakers, spikes, or cleats) that are built into these twist-link tire chains bite into ice, providing superior grip for a safer ride on ice-covered roads.
Installation
1. Drape the chain over the tire, making sure that the V-bars are facing out.
2. Drive forward about 1/4 of a tire revolution. (You can also lay the chain out and then drive onto it.)
3. Fasten the ends of the chain together.
4. Use the cam tensioning devices that are built into the side chain to tighten. Do this by inserting the flat end of the included wrench into the slot on each cam and twisting it.
5. Drive forward a bit and tighten the chain as needed.
You can use rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) to increase the tension on the chains for a tighter fit.
How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

Have not installed them yet, but know they will be perfect.
A litte bit of a learning curve with how to tighten, but once figured out they stayed in place wonderfully in the snow- far better than our friends with cables! Definitely recommend and great customer service- also arrived really fast!
good job, maybe a simple paper how to guide would be helpful.
The product is great. The only problem I have is apparently UPS has a difficult time trying to find our address. I had to go over to the neighbors to retrieve my purchase. Not a etrailer problem. I tried my chains on and they fitted great. We will definitely use etrailer again.
Tire chains work great
Well made product. Had to be back ordered but staff were attentive and the follow through was excellent. The chains are aggressive and appear to be well suited for my needs traveling in remote off road conditions. The only suggestion I have is to include installation instructions for those not mechanically inclined. I would recommend this product.
Used them this weekend on my side x side and worked great
These chains are as chunky and sturdy as they look. I haven't tested them on snow yet but I think they will be fine. They are reasonably intuitive to fit, but be sure to try them out before you need them!
Review from a similar V-Bar Ladder with Cam in Tire Chains
Ok, new to chains here. These came extremely fast over the Christmas holiday. I have a cabin in north central PA on top of a mountain. Two weeks ago I came up the mountain and it had snowed during my stay. It was absolutely terrifying going back down the dirt road, I had zero traction, took me an hour to go 2 miles, a neighbor had plowed, but it was like sledding in my vehicle. Up this week with chains with v bar, night and day, it's like driving on road with no snow, no sliding, complete control, what an amazing difference, absolutely recommend these chains. I ordered for 265/60/18 but also have a truck that is 265/75/16 that these are rated to fit, they do, but will need the spider bungee as they are sort of loose on the 16 rim.

They looked like a nice set of chains, but have to rate a 1 star due to my experience. A customer service rep confirmed via chat that these chains would fit my tires (265 70 R16), but they were too small.
Review from a similar V-Bar Ladder with Cam in Tire Chains
They are nice chains, and they arrived very quickly, so I'll give 1 star for that despite the fact they don't come with a reuseable bag. But the other 4 stars come off because they don't actually fit the tire sizes they indicate they fit. My tires are 265/75-16 on a 2006 Chevy 2500HD. I installed the chains, using the closest link available for the inside and outside catch, then cycled all four cams, and the chains are still too loose. In fact, I could cycle the cams by hand, and didn't even need to use the special tool, that's how loose they are. You can clearly see in the included picture how much slack there is at the keeper since it's hanging lose instead of taunt against the tire like is should be. You can also see that it is connected to the closest link, and that all four cams are tightened. You can even make out the tire size. This isn't an installation problem, or an operator error. This is a "they don't fit what they say they fit" problem. I tried calling etrailer for assistance, but other than verify I had the correct chains for my tire size, all they could do was suggest I get the rubber bungee cord things.
So now I have the outside rubber things coming to try and take up the slack if I actually need to use them during my trip next week. Tire chains specified for a given tire size range should fit. These don't, but I don't have enough time to change them out and have no confidence anything else I ordered would fit better anyway. Later when I have time, I'll remove one of the laterals so I can tighten the chains more, but for $150 I would expect a product that fits. Buyer beware...
Review from a similar V-Bar Ladder with Cam in Tire Chains
Had some trouble at first, the set was too large for my tires. I was able to remove one of the cleats and shorten the diameter... All is well now, hope I never have to use them, but nice to know I can.
Review from a similar V-Bar Ladder with Cam in Tire Chains
One of the links is going in the opposite direction, so if I were to put on the chains, the metal would puncture the tire. Sucks because this is not cheap. You would think they would check all the links to make sure they did not install the links the wrong way.
If I didn't check I would have had a blown tire!!

First, delivery was accurate as tracked to a very rural locaion. Thank you for that.
Second, when I finally installed the tire chains, they fit. When used consistent with industry standards, for example, slow speeds, proper install either drape or roll on methods, the chains work well.
The quality of this product serves us well in the remote Federal forest, generally unplowed in winter.
An instructional video would be helpful. We used youtube presenters to fill this gap.
Well done etrailer.
