Retractable hard tonneau cover protects your cargo and truck bed. Heavy-duty aluminum panels and silicone hinges help seal bed. Cover locks at 12" increments along the rails, and retracts easily with a quick-release handle.
Features:
Specs:
The Full-Metal JackRabbit retractable tonneau cover protects your cargo and truck bed from the elements. The durable cover is constructed of heavy-duty aluminum panels with weather-resistant materials that help keep dirt and water out of your bed. The cover locks every 12" along the rails, and it retracts easily with the turn of handle.
Retractable Cover with Built-In Pull Strap
The Full-Metal JackRabbit retracts with the turn of a handle. The handle - located on the key latch at the tailgate end of the cover - activates a heavy-duty tension spring. This spring automatically retracts the cover into the canister at the bulkhead of your truck bed. A built-in pull strap helps you extend the cover over your bed. As you pull, the tonneau cover will engage the side rails at 12" intervals.
This feature enables you to carry tall or long items that overlap your tailgate while still covering cargo, such as a toolbox, stored closer to the bulkhead of the truck.
A hook-and-loop fastener strip is included to secure the pull strap up and off of your bed floor. You can also use the rear plate of the tonneau cover to pull it closed.
Angled Canister
The cover retracts into a compact, angled canister located at the front of your truck bed. This canister protects the retracted cover from the elements, and with the cover stored in the canister you'll have unrestricted visibility out of your rear window. The angled design of the canister also allows for maximum clearance for your tools and cargo so there is no need to remove the cover to haul cargo.
Water Management System
The Full-Metal JackRabbit rails feature a water management system that channels excess water into the canister. This prevents water from getting into your bed or freezing in your tonneau cover rails during cold temperatures. Drain tubes attached to the bottom of the canister remove water through the OE drain holes in the floor of your truck bed.
Flush-Mount Design
The Full-Metal JackRabbit side rails mount level with your truck bed rails for a flush appearance. This flush-mount design is aerodynamic to reduce wind drag, and it helps to improve gas mileage when the cover is closed.
Even with the flush-mount design, the cover fits over most fifth-wheel trailer hitches. Note: The highest point of the fifth-wheel hitch must be at least 2" below the bed rails.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The cover and rails are constructed of heavy-gauge extruded aluminum with a matte black finish. A silicon weather hinge creates a tight seal between each panel to prevent water and dirt from entering the truck bed. A large seal at the rear of the bed closes between the cover and tailgate to create a barrier to prevent water from entering the truck bed.
Security
The Full-Metal Jackrabbit provides excellent protection for your cargo when used in conjunction with a closed and locked tailgate. The heavy-gauge aluminum panels are better at preventing theft when compared with soft covers that can be cut or punctured with a knife.
No-Drill Installation
To install the cover, set the canister in your truck bed and support it with a box or other sturdy object. Slide the cover side rails into the canister until they are fully seated in the rail grips while also threading the cover into the channels in the rails. Secure the rails to the canister with bolts and washers.
Secure the rails to your truck bed side rails using 2 clamps per side. Slide the clamp onto the rail, flip the pivot arm up so it is under the bed rail lip, and tighten the clamp in place. Shims are included for trucks with tapered beds.
Each clamp at the tailgate end of the rails has a supplemental kickstand to help level the rails and prevent overtightening during installation. To install the kickstand, simply slide it into the grip handle at the bottom of the clamp. Rotate the kickstand so the foot rests squarely against the side wall of the truck bed, and tighten in place.
Mount the top cover plate to the canister with the included hardware. Attach the drain tubes to the canister and route each tube out of the OEM drain holes in the floor of your bed.
To hold the pull strap off the floor of your truck bed, apply the adhesive hook-and-loop fastener strip onto the underside of a rail at your desired location.

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the line of Pace Edwards Jackrabbit Retractable Hard Tonneau Covers. When it comes to tonneau covers, you've got a lot of different options and it can be really overwhelming trying to decipher which one is going to be the best fit for your truck. Now for me, I always like to start by separating into two categories, hard covers and soft covers. Soft covers are going to be a bit more inexpensive, but they lack security because anyone can come up and just cut through that material with a knife to get inside. Whereas a hardcover like this, (knocking on cover) is going to be constructed of metal or some sort of hard material that can't be cut through.
Obviously nothing's thief proof but this is going to be a huge improvement to security, especially this option from Pace Edwards which is constructed of a series of metal slats that all interlock together giving you probably some of the best security you can get. An additional layer of security that the Jackrabbit has is a lock. The mechanism to open the cover is located up top so that's why they've got the lock. Some covers will rely on your locking tailgate and have the locking mechanism inside the bed. But I like this because it's easy to see and access and then we don't have to open the tailgate to operate this.
We just have to twist that and we can push this into the canister up front. (cover sliding) And here we can see the benefit of a canister style tonneau cover. Everything retracts into the canister up front so nothing extends up above our bed rails leaving our back window completely clear, compared to something like a tri-fold cover where when that's fully open, it's going to be straight up and down, blocking your back window. Or even a roll up tonneau cover where that roll will sit on top of your bed rails and at least partially obstruct the back glass. So this is going to be the best option for visibility.
The trade off for that is that it is going to extend down into your bed because that cover has to go somewhere. So there will be some sacrificed space in here. The good thing is, underneath it there is going to be some space so if you need to slide in some lumber, some two by fours, there's space underneath the canister for it to go. But that small space up top will be obstructed by the canister. Underneath the canister, you're going to have drain tubes, so any water that collects in here due to rain is going to be draining out through those drain tubes.
We will have to drill some holes in our bed or enlarge some existing ones to route those drain tubes out, so you can choose to do that however you'd like. In this installation, we did choose to enlarge some preexisting holes that we're already enlarged for something else and that worked treat to run these out and make sure that there's no low spot in the drain tubes. And the benefit to this pull cord here is that we can operate this from outside the bed. Now I'm just just going to operate it from right here, right now so I can talk about one of the other benefits which is the multiple locking points. So as we pull this out, (metal clicking) you can hear some clicks, locking it at certain intervals, allowing us to have the cover partially closed or open if we need to. Where that can come in really handy is let's say we've got a load of lumber that sticks out past our tailgate but we still want the fuel economy benefits of having this cover closed. (metal clicking) Well, we can close it most of the way and just have things extending out the back here. That's going to help with the fuel economy and reduce drag. Now comparing this to some other options out there, let's say other options from Pace Edwards like the UltraGroove, those ones don't stop. They just have a fully open or a fully closed state, so there's no intervals. For that reason, I like the Jackrabbit a lot better. Comparing this to an option from Retrax, their retractable covers can be stopped at any point, no intervals. All you have to do is throw their handle to lock it and it stays in place where it is. Which is nice for the ability to stop at anywhere, but I don't like Retrax's handle as much. Their covers I don't feel like slide as smoothly as Pace Edwards does. So we're going to get smoother action here and the trade off is that we just have set intervals at which the cover can be opened or closed rather than anywhere we want. So for me, it's a fair trade off. As far as weather resistance goes, no tonneau cover is weatherproof but I think this one does a great job at sitting really flush to the bed rails and having lots of sealing around the edges. We've got this rubber seal at the tailgate, foam seals along the bulkhead and the sides and it all makes great contact with the truck. I think you'll maybe get a little bit of water intrusion at the gaps in the corners of the tailgate. It's super minor, but that's just one area to watch for. But overall, I think they do an excellent job at keeping things water tight as long as you install it all properly. The other thing I like a lot about this is the low profile nature of it. If you kind of get down level with the bed rails, really the thing that sticks up the most is the top cover for our canister and the weather strip right here. The side rails are sitting almost perfectly flat with the bed rails and the cover itself sits below those side rails. So everything's super low profile. You can barely tell it's there and it looks like it belongs on the truck. It doesn't stick out one bit. Now our cover today is installed on a Silverado 2500, but there's plenty of different vehicle fits available for the Jackrabbit. So if you have a different vehicle and you want to see how it's installed and how it fits, plug in your vehicle information to our fit guide, including your bed length and use that to find the right kit for you because these are all going to be size appropriate for certain trucks. You just want to make sure you get the right one for your truck and it's bed. Overall, I think that's going to be a really solid option for a tonneau cover. Pace Edwards makes really good retractable covers that I'm a big fan of and this one is no different. Some of the things I like about the Jackrabbit over their other options is the fact that it's got those intervals you can stop at and the construction to me, feels just a little bit higher quality. So if you're looking for something that's going to be very secure and reliable then I think Jackrabbit is a really great fit. Thanks for watching.

Retractable hard tonneau cover protects your cargo and truck bed. Heavy-duty aluminum panels and silicone hinges help seal bed. Cover locks at 12" increments along the rails, and retracts easily with a quick-release handle.Just installed the cover and it looks great and it fits my older Sierra truck.
Installation of the initial rails to the canister was tricky as the instructions are not 100% clear (i recommend going on youtube to watch the video).
I would also recommend sliding locking brackets into rail slot before attaching to canister as there is a screw at the end rail which prevented me from sliding the brackets onto the rail from the tail end.
Instructions also failed to tell me how far from the tail bed i should secure the bracket even though they were specific about how far from the canister i should secure so i had to make a guess. I would have liked if i got 6 brackets instead of 4 so i could secure the rails in the back, middle and front but it is what it is.
Staff was great in making sure i order the correct cover to fit my older truck so I give them an A+.
it was super easy to install and only took me 2 hours (only because i triple checked the everything and kept referencing the video)
I highly recommend installing with two people.
Let’s see how it does in the rain.
1 year later and it still works like day one. Just keep the channel lubed.
Love the tonneau install went well I did resort to u ti e video which is actually very helpful looks great on the truck. I did have the same issue the installer on the video I watched did one side slips right on and the other took a minute to get lined op damn if I could figure out why.

Attachment by the rails to the carrier box was difficult with sparse instructions.
Just installed the tonneau cover. Everything went well. I would recommend that people watch [on-line video] installation- made things go easier. Washed truck and no leaks. All is good.
Love the look of this unit. Solid product. Easy installation. Only problem I have is the clamp down kick adjustment screws. They couldn’t be made short enough to use them. Still happy with the unit.
Fairly easy to install. Looks and works great. I have a 2019 Ram 3500, fits perfectly.
Delivery came earlier than expected!
