Setting up these invisible base plates for use with your etrailer tow bar is fast and easy. Just remove the attachment lugs from the ends of your tow bar arms and replace them with these tabs. Then you can just insert the tow bar arms into the base plate receivers to hook up. There's no need to remove the tabs from your tow bar, so you won't run the risk of misplacing tabs. And because the tabs remain on your tow bar at all times instead of protruding from your vehicle , your car maintains a clean look when it's not being towed.
Using the etrailer invisible base plates to attach and remove your tow bar couldn't be easier. With the base plate tabs attached to your tow bar arms, simply insert the tabs into the receivers on your vehicle and twist to lock them in place. Insert the included pull pins to add an extra layer of security, ensuring the tabs stay put. To remove each arm, simply tug the pull pin to disengage the lock, twist the tow bar arm, and pull the tab out of the bracket.
Keep dirt and debris out of the base plate receivers with the included covers. These high-density polyethylene covers easily snap into place over each pull point when your tow bar is not attached. Limiting internal corrosion makes it easier to slide the tabs in and out and helps to prevent seizing so that the tabs don't get stuck.
If you have a tow bar from a different manufacturer, an adapter may be available. etrailer offers adapters for use with other tow bars so that you don't have to go through the added hassle and expense of replacing your tow bar when outfitting your new towed car with base plates.

Simple, bolt-on installation with included hardware.Had to use a porta power to spread it. It was bent in at least a 1/4 inch and would not go over the frame. After it was spread the process went fine.

Great Price! Easy to install however, the kit we ordered came with a steel skid plate and the video attached to the product shows cutting notches out of the plastic plate that came on the Jeep. We would like to use the steel one but yet to figure out how to do so as the instructions do not say how to use it.
The base plate was good quality and was not too difficult to install. The template for the splash guard was a good start, but took quite a bit of cutting and fitting to get it right. I really appreciated the installation video. The way it walks you through the process was very valuable, as the directions would have been inadequate without the video. Thank you for taking the time to do these installation videos for your products.
The SHIPPING was absolutely horrible. When the UPS driver took out the box, it was dirty, was smashed, and had cuts and holes in it. It had been treated so roughly that even one of the plastic parts bags inside the box was torn and missing items. I ended up having several missing items that must have fallen out of one of the tears, or holes in the box. I gave this a 5 because the product was great and the customer service (Kimberly and Joanne) were wonderful and were able to rectify the missing parts issue.
After watching etrailer video for installation, it was fairly easy, no drilling of the frame and all necessary hardware bolted correctly. I like the way it tucks under the frame and doesn't stick out much, thus why it's the "invisible base plate kit".
Kind of a pain, but not difficult to remove front plastic and mount receivers. I like that the adapters are removable, so I don't have shin knockers sticking out.
Has been reliable and trouble free.

The box had holes in it and I was missing some of the hardware, so I’am having to wait on replacement hardware to be shipped. So now instead of waiting 4 or 5 days now I have to wait 8 to 10 days before I can mount it on my vehicle. If those parts make it.
Baseplate fitment is good. The instructions were a little vague and could have gone into a little more detail. It took a little longer to install due to figuring out the installation of the baseplate and installing the factory items such as the bumper and air deflector in the wrong order with the baseplate installed. I had to take them on and off in order to figure out the sequential installation order with the baseplate installed in place. I would have given 5 stars if this weren’t the case.
Not my first choice but the Roadmaster was out of stock so after speaking with Alex I decided on the etrailer baseplate for my 2019 Equinox instead of waiting 3 weeks. I am happy that I did. The etrailer baseplate is well built and easy to install. The directions include are vague and at time confusing but the etrailer video was excellent. I was concerned about removing the fascia of the car but following the video made it easy. My only complaint is that I wished the video showed the clips holding the fascia on, see attached photo, once I knew what I was dealing with it made the other side easier to remove.
Driver and passenger support brackets don't fit my 2021 Equinox. Angle is wrong.Needs to be closer to 90 degrees Returned for replacement.
the kit came on time and everything looks good, I just wish you could purchase just the baseplates as I already have the other parts.

We took our time with the installation, we were a little nervous about taking the factory bumper off a new vehicle but after it was removed the installation of the Base Plate went well with the help of the etrailer video’s and written instructions with pictures. The only problem we had was with the cutout in the plastic rock guard. In the video it was stated you might need to make modifications to the size of the cutout template provided in the written instructions to make the cutout opening larger.
From the centerline of the bumper on each side the template was very close, but the depth down from the bumper needed to be cut larger. After calculating how much more we needed to re-cut it turned out great!
After assembly was completed, it looked as if it could have been installed as a factory option.

The bar was easy to install and used all factory locations for a “no-drill” fit. Haven’t installed the tow lights yet but the kit looks complete and well informed
This base plate went on without any modifications. Very pleased with the outcome.

I bought this because I already had Blue Ox tow bars, and it said I could order adapters in order to connect my tow bars. I had the base plates installed, and everything is good as far as I can tell. However, I haven't actually used them because I had issues installing the adapters (I will be submitting a one star review for the adapters because of those issues). As it turns out, I didn't even need adapters to connect my Blue Ox tow bars to these base plates.
Very happy with this base plate. I did 100% of the install by myself in about 3 to 4 hours. Their video and others found on YouTube made it easy. They walk you through every step. I do wish the bolt holes were slotted or a little bigger. Any 3 bolts lined up easy but not the forth. No big deal and dealt with a file.
I was able to mount the base plate according to the Video with a few kinks... The base plate kit had a weld support on the passenger side that was welded wrong and had to be ground down, also the safety cable quick links do not fit in the base plate hole as listed in the video.
Easiest base plate to install on a 2023 Gladiator.
Took 3 of us to install. But have over 3600 miles with its use. All ok. And even though it was labor intensive to install I am very happy with the bracket.
Works very well, no complaints. Like all base plates, it is a project to install, but once it's installed, it just works. The etrailer videos on the install process were invaluable in sequencing the work and understanding exactly what had to be removed to get the base plate correctly installed.
