Diode kit allows you to use your Ford Expedition's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. Wires 2-wire and 3-wire systems to operate as a combined lighting systems. Includes 7-wire to 6-wire Flexo-Coil electrical cord.

Specs:
Note: For applications that have separate lighting, this kit will cause your brake lights to function as both brake and turn signal lights. A wiring converter (118158 - sold separately) and 2 additional diodes (RM-792) will be needed if you want to retain separate turn and brake signals.
Separate vs. Combined Lighting Systems
Some automobiles operate on a 3-wire system, wherein the brake signal and the turn signals travel along different wires to illuminate different lights. (Typically, these vehicles have amber turn signals.) This is referred to as a "separate lighting system". When you hook up for flat towing using this kit, your towed car's lighting system will operate in a combined fashion regardless of whether it typically has combined or separate lighting. This means that the brake and turn signals sent by your RV to your towed car will be carried on a single wire. As a result, your car's brake lights will do the flashing for the turn signals. Your vehicle will still function as designed when not hooked up to your RV.
Do You Need a Brake Light Relay?
Because this kit wires your vehicle as a combined system, a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if you use a supplemental braking system with your towing setup. A supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal in your towed car every time you apply the brakes in your RV. So, if your towed car's brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed and the engine is off - as is the case when towing - then you need to install a relay to ensure that the lights on your towed car always act in accordance with the signals sent by your RV via the wiring harness. Without a relay, the brake signal from your towed car will override the turn signal sent by your RV when you slow down to make turns, creating a potential hazard.

However, I wanted to wire my Jeep to tow behind my motorhome so I ordered the Roadmaster Diode 7 wire to 6 wire wiring kit (RM 15267). While I think it took me longer to install than those with experience, I am happy to say I got it hooked up and working on my first try! The videos that came on my email confirmation were GREAT and really helped my experience. Thanks so much everyone at etrailer for helping make my project successful!
This was easy to install and it works very well. I installed it on a Ford 2021 F250 pick up. The pick up does have the separate brake and turn signals, so you need to wire it as such. I would recommend this kit.
I had purchased a new tow vehicle for my RV and purchased Item RM-15267. It has been just over 1 year and I towed my car across Canada and back (14'000km) with no issues. The install was not difficult thanks to the excellent instruction videos available online. I am not a mechanic, but have good common sense. Love the quality of all the products received. Thank you very much etrailer for providing quality products with great instructions.
This roadmaster tow bar has been one of the best. The lights on the side of the tow bar are bright and very helpful to other motorist on the roadway for visibility. It is durable and heavy duty. Very pleased.
Installation was straight forward and took a couple hours. Items work very well, and are still in very good shape.
Have purchased many items from etrailer over the years, and they are always high quality. Customer service is very good whenever I have a question. Their installation videos are some of the best around.
Outstanding product and even better customer service! Two backyard mechanics installed baseplate and braking system with just one call to confirm proper wire connection. Total package works great.
Works as advertised. Installation takes some time but instructions were very good. No complaints.
The install was fairly straightforward and took maybe 5 hours. If you are used to auto work and removing body panels you can probably cut that time in half. Also, make sure you have good drill bits to get through the frame! No problems at all with the base plate after installation.
My experience with etrailer was good from the perspective of the cooperation and pleasantness. However, even though I was clear on the tow bar I had (Blue Ox) and the vehicle I was towing (2005 Dodge Dakota) when the tow package came and the shop I had installing it got to the end of the installation, it was discovered that the wrong pins were sent, i.e. they wouldn't lock in place - too short . At first we couldn't determine what the problem was, so I called etrailer back. Was told those were the correct pins. Finally called Blue Ox directly and the rep immediately told me (after I gave him the PN) that those were the wrong pins. Without me asking he offered and did send two replacement pins free of charge. They worked perfectly.
Works as expected. I hook up and check lights and it works after numerous hook ups
I ordered this kit to get me a heavy duty coiled cable with room to use one input as a dedicated power supply from the bus to then be sent to the towed battery to keep it charged going down the road.
the diodes i chose not to use, as i have a hopkins plug and play kit on the way, that will marry up the 6 pin fitting
I just needed the cable with the 7 to 6 adapters, it was the best price for the need :)
Product performing well, great customer service and installation videos
Excellent workmanship installing my used Invisibrake.
We have towed our Jeep almost 2,000 miles since installing the recommended parts from etrailer and it has worked perfectly on every connect and disconnect along the way. Tows beautifully, even at 70 mph.
Excellent customer service and helpful videos from these folks. Would recommend to anyone needing help with parts and guidance in towing their toad to give them a call.
I installed the kit. Didn't have many problems. It is a really stout setup. I am very pleased with the kit and very good instructions.
Great product for towing our Jeep Gladi ator
I installed this on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. This setup has been perfect for my Toad. No issues and easy to install.
Not easy to mount the receptacle on the 2021 Jeep Gladiator bumper. Need some long stainless threaded rod and ss nylock nuts.
The wiring kit was mostly OK. They claimed the wiring supplied was 27' long, however, what I received wasn't even 20' long. I had to made a splice on all wiring leads near the front of the bumper. The diodes and rest of the kit worked as described. Upon testing, there were no issues when hooked up to my rig. I also added the brake light relay and wired it through the supplied harness as well.
Appeared to be a great kit but it turned out that I did not need it. I never had to use it so I cannot comment about how well it worked. The instructions were clear.
Timely delivery an instructions were accurate and specific for ny vehicle
I had the system installed at a local shop. Simple to plugin and go, and works great.
These were exactly what I needed. I changed tow vehicles to a Honda HRV (manual) and the only base plate available was the Roadmaster. These adapters took about 10 minutes to change my Blue Ox tow bar to accept the Roadmaster.
Simple I installed myself just a little tight on factory wiring harness
