Smooth Hookup with Stainless Steel Arms

Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain stainless steel arms

The Falcon All-Terrain is designed to make hooking up your toad (towed vehicle) a smooth and easy process. The telescoping arms are able to extend to the needed length and angle to reach the base plate without the need for your vehicle to be perfectly level or in the exact right spot behind your RV. The inner arms are stainless steel and will slide in and out smoothly. Supremely corrosion resistant, they'll stay rust-free and functional for the life of the tow bar.

Slide the tow bar into your hitch and pin it in place. Get the arms connected to the base plate one at a time. Once you're all hooked up, slowly pull forward and the self-aligning arms will fully extend and lock into the towing position. Double check that the arms are properly latched and you'll be ready to hit the road!

Extra-Long Arms Get You Around Tight Turns

The Falcon's arms are longer than average, giving you an above-average turning radius. You're going to be able to get around obstacles and make sharp turns with no worry of clipping the corner of your RV. Maneuver through gas stations and the campsite no problem.

Non-Binding for Easy Disconnect

Uneven ground and sharp angles can put the arms of the tow bar in a bind and make them stiff and immoveable. Once you get to your destination, the last thing you need is to spend several minutes wrestling, yanking, and kicking at them to get your car disconnected.

Freedom Latch

Instead, get out of a bind in one easy step. Simply flip the lever on the arm of the Falcon to disengage the internal latch. This releases the pent-up pressure so you can unhook and get on with your adventure.

Cable Guides

Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Cable Guides

The Falcon All-Terrain comes with cable guides built into the arms, which offer a great way to keep your setup organized. By threading your safety cables and power cord (both sold separately) through the guides, you'll keep them from dragging on the ground and getting damaged. It's also a great way to keep all your gear together. You won't need to find a separate place to store your cables; you can keep them right there where you need them, ready for the next time you flat tow.

Engineered for Excellence

FEA test

The Falcon All-Terrain is engineered to be as tough and durable as possible. Throughout the design process, rigorous physical and computerized testing is done, including Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA). Each of these tests displays a 3-dimensional image of the tow bar while it is put under thousands of pounds of pressure. Areas of stress in the tow bar can then be located and studied so that those areas can be strengthened. This process is repeated until any weak spots, particularly those found in load-bearing components, are completely removed. The result is a product that is durable, strong, and safe.

Simple Storage: RV-Mounted Tow Bar

Storing Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain

The Falcon All-Terrain folds up to conveniently store on the back of your RV when you're not using it. After disconnecting the tow bar from your toad, push the arms of the tow bar together so that they are side by side. Push the tow bar up until the holding latch clicks into place. The arms can then swing to the right or to the left, whichever side you want to store it on.

Storing Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain

For added protection from the elements, slip the Roadmaster tow bar cover (RM-055-3 - sold separately) over the Falcon when you're not using it.

What You Need to Flat Tow

Flat towing can be a much more convenient way to take your car RVing with you than using a trailer or a tow dolly. It'll save you storage space both at home and at the campsite, and it takes less time and hassle to hook up.

To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.

For the RV Between the RV and Towed Car For the Towed Car
Hitch Tow bar Base plate
Wiring plug Safety cables Braking system
Wiring adapter cord Wiring kit/diodes

The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

It took me awhile to decide if this would work with the Rough Country bumper I wanted to put on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. After looking at numerous photos of the bumper I decided to pull the trigger and it worked. The mount cleared the bumper and I’m very pleased with how easy it was to mount and use the tow bar. I did everything myself except wiring the plug on my Jeep.

This is an awesome tow package! It is easy to install and easy to use. The connecting and disconnecting is quick and easy.

Great Tow bar! After a year and several thousand miles, no problems, and no issues with disconnecting. I definitely recommend it.

All continued to be flawless. We have since sold that RV and purchased another. We purchased everything again from E-Trailer to be able to tow a different Jeep and it has as well been flawless.

by:

We have towed our Jeep almost 2,000 miles since installing the recommended parts from etrailer and it has worked perfectly on every connect and disconnect along the way. Tows beautifully, even at 70 mph.

Excellent customer service and helpful videos from these folks. Would recommend to anyone needing help with parts and guidance in towing their toad to give them a call.

Our system is still working perfectly a year later. Our Jeep is a 2018 Cherokee Trailhawk and while we’ve seen some RV forums talk about “death wobble”, we have never experienced this using these Roadmaster products towbar & baseplate. We tow the Jeep with our 39’ Class A gasser and hardly know its back there. Even on sharp corners the Jeep follows perfectly and no binding. Connecting or disconnecting takes maybe 5 – 7 minutes. Then check all of our lights, make sure the Jeep is in neutral wbrakes off and we’re on our way. The braking system that we installed purchased from etrailer is the “Stay-n-Play Duo”. I would recommend that to anyone looking for easy operation. The installation time was a bit lengthy and involved but once completed makes all of your towing trips much easier. Just the flip of a switch and the braking system is ready for towing. No portable unit to lug around and adjust each time you tow your vehicle. The etrailer folks made the perfect recommendations for our needs and everything has worked GREAT!

by:

it works as advertised and was easy to install. I installed the base plates on my 2018 Chev Colo. In about 4 hours with no assistance. Toughest part was installing the front facia back on the truck.

by:

I bought a complete flat tow parts fir a jeep wrangler. I decided I could install myself. Your installation videos made it nearly a piece of cake. From a quote I got from a RV service business, I saved several thousand dollars installing myself. etrailer is the place to for your RV needs!

by:

I am a new owner of an RV and needed a lot of help with knowing what parts I needed for my “toad” and bike rack! Have ti say Jake was amazing. He spent a significant amount of time with me, explained everything I needed and suggested the best parts. He was super patient and professional and I am so grateful for his experience and help Thanks Jake and e-trailer

by:

Awesome hitch! Fills up easily and nicely. Easy to operate and not terribly heavy to handle if you need to store it.

by:

If you have a Roadmaster base plate EZ with quick release cross bar like I had, this is the perfect tow bar. I tried the etrailer model first after the recommendation of their sales person as it DOES have some nice extra features, but it simply will not attach directly to the Roadmaster cross bar. I could not believe trailer has their own hitch but does not have a clevis end (which did ship separately and needed to be attached to the legs of the hitch). A VERY simple adapter should be available for their hitch, very disappointing. Trailer did take a return even though it was past their normal 60 day return window. I did actually prefer the etrailer hitch at a better price and features. WHY don’t you have a simple Clevis end to fit the Roadmaster?

by:

This tow bar is very easy to install due to its non-binding feature which allows for easy toad hook-up even when the ground is a little uneven. I also like the fact that it can stay attached to the motorhome and simply swing out of the way when not needed. As with all products I have purchased from etrailer, this Roadmaster tow bar is well engineered and of excellent quality.

by:

This is my second Roadmaster Falcon tow bar. I was very happy with the first unit and needed to purchase a new one.

by:

Having used the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain tow bar for over a year to tow a Kia Soul with our class A coach, I have nothing but good things to say about it.
The tow bar is extremely easy to attach to the towed vehicle. Get close and the arms will connect, pull ahead and the arms lock into tow position. The cable management tubes on the side of the arms keep all electrical and safety cables organized and tangle free.
The tow bar quickly folds and stores on the rear of the coach when not in use.
Fit, finish, and construction is excellent. Instructions for set-up, use and maintenance are clear and complete.
The reviews and videos provided by e trailer certainly helped with the decision to go with this particular tow bar, along with their great selection, price, and delivery.
Thanks e trailer!

by:

My second one in 10 years and works like a charm. Very easy to hook up and disconnect.
It’s new so plungers are a bit tight , but I like that as well.

by:

Easy to use, simple to hook up and folds out of the way.

by:

Overall the tow bar is pretty good. I had no issues towing the 2005 Acura MDX (~4500LB. After driving in the rain the the moving rod become a little sticky. With some cleaning and WD40 it is behaving normal. I don't really feel there is any toad unless I see through the rear view camera. So far no issues. I probably had about 5k miles on this tow bar by now.

by:

This towbar has been very disappointing. When it was time for a new towbar, I decided to downgrade from the Sterling to this Falcon, and that was a big mistake. This towbar cannot be described as "non-binding". Unless your tow vehicle is perfectly aligned with the motorhome and level, there is no chance of releasing the latches - they bind and will not release. If I get stuck in a stopped position where the car is misaligned from the coach by more than about 10 degrees, or higher or lower than the hitch by more than a few inches, I have a major project to release the towbar from the car, even sometimes having to use a punch and hammer to forcibly remove the hitch pins. Further, after just a few months of use, one of the release mechanisms quit working altogether, so I my partner has to start the car and jiggle back and forth in order to find a spot where I can remove the hitch pins. Once the towbar is unhooked, I have to use a screwdriver to dig around under the failed release lever in order to push the cam in manually so I can push the outer arm back in.
The guides along the arms for the cables are not useful and dangerous. I initially used straight power and safety cables running through the guides, and they go chewed up in a short period of time. I had to buy new coiled cables that do not run through the guides, and have had no further problem.
As a towbar, this device works fine. But it is NOT non-binding, and I highly recommend upgrading to one of the higher-end towbars. This device is too problematic to recommend, and I would never buy it again.

Works as advertised. No problem disconnecting when angled.

Installing on 2020 Jeep Trailhawk :

Pic #0557 : Roadmaster Base Plate Kit , Demco Supplemental Braking System , Diode Wiring Kit , Demco Battery Charge Wire Kit

Pic # 0548 ,0551 , 0559 Had to adjust the bracket plate to line up with the upper bolt holes

Pic #6028 finished install , mounted the operating unit to the top fuse box cover using automotive Velcro . Air cylinder , controller and LED light installed . Aside from the base plate bracket not lining up with the upper bolt holes I would give it 4 stars . My son in law is a master at solving mechanical issues .

This was part of many Roadmaster components I ordered from etrailer.com to set up my 2014 Honda CRV as a toad. Etrailer's website is excellent and their review videos and installation videos are very helpful. Their tech service department is excellent as well.

I researched tow bars thoroughly before choosing the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain. Both Roadmaster and Blue Ox have excellent customer service departments and answered many questions before I decided to go with Roadmaster. The reason is simply my preference to have the extra stability of the cross bar and for future mounting of the Guardian rock shield. The Blue Ox tow bars are simpler because of no crossbar and that is nice and clean. But I like extra assurance and beefiness on the lateral torsion forces when towing. Just my preference.

The Falcon unit is well made and heavy. The channels on the sides allow a neat installation of the wiring harness and safety cables. Pulls my Honda CRV with no noise and easy to hook and unhook. I would recommend this product to anyone.

by:

Very happy with my Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain tow bar, baseplate and high low hitch. Great service from etrailer, great company! Going on my first trip in a couple weeks! Took about 4 or 5 hours to install. Great instructions, the videos were very helpful!

by:

I was a solo older female traveler, towing a Jeep. This towing system was so easy to use. Easy to set up on my Jeep, and to hook up and unhook from my motorhome.

This was bought replace a Falcon 2 because of the non-binding feature. I was looking forward to using the wiring and cable channels but there doesn't seem to be a way to get the hooks or plugs through. So instead of having something useful, I just have something that adds weight.

I was looking into to flat towing our Jeep Cherokee behind our RV. A friend had told me about etrailer. I have to say they do, and did have everything that I needed to make this project happen. The pricing, quality, quickness, and the shape of everything from shipping, was Great!
Here is a picture after I got it was all hooked up.

Thanks again etrailer

  • Falcon 2 Tow Bars Lock Up and Are Difficult To Remove When Disconnecting From Vehicle
Yes, the arms of the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 will extend and lock into position when you start pulling your vehicle. The bars can often be difficult to release when you go to disconnect the tow bars from the towed vehicle when you get to your site. Often times you will need to either physically push the towed vehicle forwards and back to get the release pin to disconnect or use a RoadMaster Release Tool # RM-066 to get the pin to drop. The best option is to step up to the...

  • Parts Needed To Flat Tow A 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk
The Falcon All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-522 that we offer doesn't come with safety cables included so I don't know the exact length that you have, but we tend you usually need to add on quick links, like part # 37201345, whenever a high/low adapter is used. These quick links are approximately 4" in length to help bridge the gap left by the # RM-070. Without having the baseplate installed and the motorhome nearby to measure the hitch height it can be a total guess whether or not an adapter...

  • Does The Rampage Rock Rage Bumper Have Add-On D-Rings And What Is Needed To Flat Tow A 1999 Jeep TJ
The Rampage Rock Rage Front Bumper for Jeep # RA97801 doesn't have a D-ring add-on option so you'd have to have a qualified fabricator weld D-rings in to the bumper if you wanted them. You'd also need to have that fabricator ensure that the bumper is properly secured enough to the frame to be able to tow from the D-rings. If you end up being able to tow from the D-rings then you'll want either the Roadmaster # RM-035 (3/4" thick D-rings) or RM-035-1 (1" thick D-rings) and a Roadmaster...

  • What Flat-Tow Setup do You Recommend for My 2022 Ford Ranger?
I have a great way to locate installers near you. On each product page, there is a link that says Need help with installation? Locate installers near me." From that link, you can input your zip code and find our recommended installers in your area. I went ahead and attached a screenshot that shows where this link is located. If you need the components for flat-towing, the required parts are base plates, a tow bar, a tow braking system, safety cables, and vehicle tow wiring. For those parts...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2018 Jeep Wrangler Behind Mercedes Sprinter
This could be a JK or a JL so you will need to determine which model this 2018 Wrangler is for the right base plate kit. Both can be flat towed. I'm also going to assume the Jeep has the standard factory bumper. If they have a different bumper let me know and I can update it. I recommend the following: -Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521448-5 (for 2018 JK) -Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521453-5 (for 2018 JL) -Roadmaster...

  • Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2022 Ford Maverick
To flat tow your 2022 Ford Maverick you'll need a tow bar, base plate, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for each of these items: Tow Bar: The Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522 is a great tow bar but I prefer the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR instead. For a similar price to the Falcon you'll get much more in return. It features non-binding latches and...
