Specs:
This synthetic rope shackle works like a metal shackle or D-ring used for off-road winch recoveries. It creates a safe and strong attachment point on your truck, Jeep, ATV, or UTV where there is no dedicated anchor point. It can also be used to connect your rope hook to a tree saver strap, tow strap, or other type of strap when rigging.
It's made from HMPE fiber that is lightweight yet stronger than steel - the same material used on Bulldog Winch synthetic rope winches. It's lighter, more flexible, and easier to use than a steel shackle with a threaded pin. It also includes a protective cover to help prevent abrasion due to repetitive contact with sharp edges.
To use the shackle simply wrap it around or through your roll bar, axle, or other point of attachment to create an anchor, put the loop end over the knot end, and pull it tight. The greater the load put on the shackle the tighter it will cinch around the base of the knot. Then insert your hook into the loop.

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the Bulldog Winch Shackle Rope. This helps you to attach the components for your recovery system, whether that's attaching the wire, the hook on your winch to a tree saver strap, or another tow strap, or if you need to just find a good spot to attach to your vehicle that you're trying to recover. So this can wrap around an axle, a roll bar, or any other kind of safe attachment point to pull it out of the stuck place it is found itself. So this helps to be a flexible thing to wrap around any of those unconventional situations where you don't really have a good attachment point, otherwise, there's a go-between that hook and something else that it just doesn't fit into. The nice thing about this is that it is going to be a woven material, but it's very durable. Even stronger than steel.
So we don't have to worry about this breaking, but we also don't have to worry about it corroding or rusting out over time, and it also floats on water. So if you happen to drop it in the lake or some other kind of water, it's not going to sink to the bottom immediately. It also has some reflective material woven into it. So that's going to help it to be more visible even at night or in the dark. So it helps us to see it.It's pretty simple.
It's just going to be this loop at the end that goes over that big knot, and it does pass through itself to help sort of lock the knot into place. So there's no pins to worry about that you can lose, or fumble around with, or freeze your hand on if it's pretty cold outside. Again, nothing to rust ever on you. It's a nice army green as well.As far as the specs for this, it can work with wire or synthetic rope. The max working load limit is 15,000 pounds.
The break strength is 30,000 pounds, but that 15,000 pound working load limit is the number to really go by to stay safe. You want to also make sure that you are going off of all the numbers for your towed vehicle for whatever attachment point that you're going around, and really just go off the lowest number of any component in your system. The diameter of the rope itself, Bulldog Winch lists this as 10 millimeters thick, but it's really a bit beefier than that. At the narrowest point here, it's about half an inch, maybe even five eights of an inch, as opposed to 10 millimeters, which would be three eighths. The total length of the rope including that knot at the end is 26 inches long. The diameter is roughly eight inches from here from the inside of the rope to where it meets that knot.It does have a limited one-year warranty.
And that's really about all there is to it for our look at the Bulldog Winch Rope Shackle. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right rope for you.
