Fully adjustable mirrors allow you to position each mirror to your preferred viewing angle. The mirror arm slides between the clamps to adjust the distance between the mirror and your vehicle. Mirror extensions. Very easy to put on. Fit like a glove and now I have great vision behind the trailer. Well worth the cost. Placed on Toyota Highlander 2018.

Comments
Only fair at best. One came off at freeway speed. The other needed a bungee cord to keep it from going out of position at freeway speed.

These mirrors are high quality compared to others. I've tried others, these are far superior and provide a great view. Pulling a large trailer with a Tacoma really limits my view...these mirrors adjust nice and wide giving me the view that a larger truck would provide.

Comments
They are good quality however they dont do well on rough roads where you get a lot of vibration. They quickly loosen up and move.

Good mirrors allow you to see the back end of the trailer. Super easy instal and setup. Everything going well on our first ever trip with our new trailer and new mirrors, until return trip. My passenger side mirror was blown away. Contacted CIPA the manufacturer a week ago and never heard anything back from them they are just dismissing my inquiry. That the only reason for the low rating

These mirrors have been fitted to a 2014 VW Tiguan, pulling a Taxa Cricket trailer. I have had to modify the rubber pads on the mirror clamp by cutting each pad almost in half (see photo) to accommodate the car mirror design (see photo). I will glue the pads to the clamp to keep them from getting lost. The mirrors will do the job for which they were purchased. I have not yet driven at speed, but I do not anticipate any problems. The mirrors are securely attached.

by:
2018 Jeep Wrangler

Quality is low. The rubber edging is not glued and it comes off above 55mph. Etrailer missed the fit as these do not fit the 2018 Wrangler JL without removing the rubber grip pads. However, once the rubber grips are removed so that they fit the gap between the mirror and the mirror shell, the attachment does not stay attached. I was desperate and needed them for this weekend so I modified them and strapped them on with bungies. Good enough for now as at least I am heading out and not stuck at home all weekend. Sometimes this happens.

Worst design ever-put. In trash

As other reviews previously stated, they don't stay attached to your tow vehicle's mirrors. I installed the CIPA mirrors very carefully (knowing that others have had issues) but the driver's side mirror fell off about a 1/4 mile after I got on the interstate. I would not recommend this product. It was an expensive reminder to listen to other reviewers.

- CM11980-2
by:

I used a bungee cord to secure the mirrors as suggested by other reviewers. At first the mirrors tended to vibrate loose while driving so they no longer were adjusted for a good view. After several trips pulling my camper I finally learned how to adjust and tighten the mirrors so they stayed put and were a tremendous help in viewing traffic in the lanes beside me and much of what is coming up behind. I feel much safer pulling my camper with the extended mirrors.

I purchased these to tow a travel trailer. Driving forward they are fine but high angle backing they were useless. I wound up buying towing mirrors for my truck instead. At least I can adjust them on the fly when backing.

CAUTION...USE ZIP TIES!!! etrailer has a video of a woman installing the mirrors on a Dodge Durango. Coincidentally, I have a Dodge Durango so I purchased the mirrors as they looked a lot easier to install than my prior mirrors that used ratcheting rubber straps. Although the mirrors were easy to install, I realized that due to the tapered edge of the Dodge mirror housing, the clamps needed to be very tight...much tighter than the video implies and as described in the instructions. But I was still not confident in the clamps so I ran a large zip tie through the mount and around the car's mirror. Good thing...the left mirror fell off while on the freeway within 15 minutes. So I pulled over and reinstalled the mirror, tightening the knobs even tighter. The next day, the right side mirror fell off but it too was saved by the zip tie. After reinstalling it, I tightened the knobs on both mirrors as tight as I could. (The knobs are only about an inch wide making it difficult to get good leverage while tightening). Both mirrors remained in place for the next 4 hours. But If I did not have the presence of mind to use zip ties as a backup, I would have lost both mirrors and the ability to safely make lane changes.

- CM11980-2
by:

The mirror is great except they are very fragile if you try to tighten them too much. They have to be tight for interstate driving. I had to order a new clamp for one mirror because the clamp broke. They are still better than what I had before.

- CM11980-2
by:

I installed the mirrors and before I had driven 20 miles, the driver-side mirror fell off. When I arrived in Mississippi, I expressed-shipped a replacement for the drive home. A friend helped me put it on and also tightened the passenger side mirror. I had only driven 10 miles when the new driver ide mirror fell off. The passenger side mirror stayed on---until I was within 50 miles of home, then it fell off too!! So, I would definitely not recommend these mirrors for a 2016 Chevy Colorado truck.

- CM11980-2
by:

Put these mirrors on my 2007 Tacoma when I was pulling my travel trailer. They work great. Nice tight fit and it was an easy installation. Easy to take back off also when not towing.

- CM11980-2
by:

The CIPA Universal Clamp-On Towing Mirrors only worked for a short time. Despite my efforts to check them and keep them tight, the passenger side mirror fell off on the highway. Worse yet, I was slowing down to exit from a smooth paved roadway when it fell off. The mirror was totally broken. I drive a Toyota Tacoma and I have yet to find a towing mirror that provides what I need for towing my camper trailer.

- CM11980-2
by:

I was looking for the best, sturdiest towing mirrors available. Unfortunately, these did not live up to expectations. While the mirrors work fine, three of the four rubber straps broke within the first year of use. I removed the straps and replaced them with small bungee cords which actually work much better and do less harm to the mirror housings on my tow vehicle. So, while they work just fine today, they had to be modified because of the breaking of the rubber straps they came with. That’s why the two star rating.

The clamps do not fit well on a curved aerodynamic no drag mirror such as a Porsche Cayenne , I could not fit the clamps as the lip it fastens too is beveled, so the more it tightens down , the more it slides away from the lip. No doubt this mirror works better on more square shaped SUV mirrors.

- CM11980-2
by:

The product does the job, but has some design flaws. There are rubber boots that cover the hard plastic where the clamp attaches to the painted portion of your side mirror. These are not attached using any kind of glue, and in my case one was missing. trailer quickly promised to send a replacement for the one that was missing, but this doesn't address the design flaw. Otherwise, these will fall off. Even if they don't fall off, they are crazy thin which means they will wear out quickly. Also, the hex bolt used to tighten the mirror rod (it holds the mirror in place and keeps it from swiveling) needs a non-hex key/tool way to tighten things up.

- CM11980-2
by:

I thought the mirrors would be great for my use, but after using it one time I found the clamping system which is plastic clamped to a smooth powder coated arm will not hold at 55 mph. Every time a semi truck passed me the mirrors would slip. It would have been better if the arm was serrated. I fixed the problem by removing the clamps and installing double sided foam tape. Which fixed the problem but in doing so one of the plastic clamps broke. Using metal impregnated epoxy, I formed it around the clamp. It is holding for now.

2015 Toyota Tacoma

The mirrors are easy to install on my 2015 Tacoma and perform nicely. The only issue I have is that the truck mirrors that the trailering mirrors attach to don't have a stiff enough detent spring to hold the mirrors when pushing a head wind. I resolved the issue by running guy strings to a point forward of the mirrors under the hood of the truck to keep the mirrors from folding back while driving into the wind.
