There are multiple ways to measure the length of an axle beam, but the hub-face-to-hub-face and spring-center-to-spring-center lengths are the most accurate. Hub face (A) refers to the length of the axle measured from the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side of the axle (when hubs are mounted on the beam).
The spring center (B) is the approximate width of your trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the center of the seat on the other. This axle beam comes with the spring seats welded on.
If you are replacing your trailer's axle, you should be able to figure out which type you need by determining your trailer's capacity, the bolt pattern of your wheels, the brake type and the aforementioned lengths.
The E-Z Lube spindles on this axle are meant to work with E-Z Lube-compatible hubs to make lubricating your bearings quick and easy. Each E-Z Lube spindle has a zerk fitting on the end. And every E-Z Lube hub comes with a grease cap that has an easy-to-remove rubber plug. Just pop out the plug on the cap to access the zerk on the spindle. When you inject grease into the zerk with a grease gun, the grease will flow to both the inner and outer bearings of the hub, lubricating the bearings and forcing out old, ineffective grease. Once you see new grease beginning to be pushed out, you know that your bearings are fully lubricated. This means that you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
Dexters are made of high-strength steel and come with spindles and spring seats welded on. The spring seats are attached to the underside of the axle so that the leaf springs (sold separately) can mount beneath the axle. This axle is also built with drop spindles, which will lower the ride height of your trailer to allow for easier loading and unloading.
Each axle is manufactured to create a certain camber angle. This ensures that the angle of the wheels is correct for your towing needs. Because the primary concern when towing is maintaining controlled, in-line movement, each axle is made so that your trailer's tires will run along the pavement evenly, with contact across the width of the tread. The result is excellent straight-line acceleration for steady, in-line tracking. You might notice the bend near the center of the axle; this is what ensures the proper camber angle. Having the center ride a bit higher and the sides of the axle bent lower allows the axle to give just enough to compensate for the load.

Worked out great, replaced the damaged one and matched up with the other axle
etrailer decided to ship this 140lbs axle via US Mail. Scheduled delivery was in 5 days from date of order. Immediately after getting the USPS tracking I called and was on hold forever. I was told it was new people in shipping and my axle would arrive on time. A month later and numerous calls later, still no axle, my mail man said " no way would he would be delivering anything that size". I was then told I would get it refunded since it was lost in the mail. A month later, and several calls saying the refund was "processes" still no refund. Then I was told I'd have to ship it back before getting a refund. But I still never received it. 2 months later an un marked car delivered it and finally etrailer sent a UPS pickup and got refunded. 3 months of different stories everytime I called. Be aware, they must have a lot of newbies at etrailer.

Axles where great customer service was also great helping make sure I got the correct axle for my hubs and bearings. Only thing that would be nice is if they had an option to ship the spring pad mounts loose because I had to cut them off and re-weld them in the correct location for my trailer.

axle beam arrived in specified time. item arrived with no damage (thanks for the extra shipping packing). the free shipping was a definite bonus. over all a good experience.
Said that axle was in stock and would be delivered on may 27th well got a notice that they were shipping it out on the 28th. Kinda of hard to to get it before it shipped right Well now I was told it was shipped on May 30th which was Memorial Day hard to believe but it was delivered on jun 1rst and was what I ordered and I'm happy with it.Just wish they were more up front with there shipping.

Thanks to the people and the videos at etrailer, this was pretty simple. My old axle was bent. so I used the information on the site to measure and select the correct axle. I was extra careful, but it really was just a plug and play. I used the trailer quite a bit put at least 8000 miles and the tires are perfect. So I am super happy with my purchase and it save a LOT of money over what the shop would have charged.
Shipping time was great! The only problem was the bottom plate hole spacing for the U-Bolts was not wide enough for my springs. I used the old plates and all went together fine.
The axle was a perfect fit. Was less than an hr to swap out. Simple to grease the bearings now.
Axle arrived in perfect condition, was also an exact fit for my Top Hat Trailer.

I would recommend etrailer to everyone.
I replaced one axle with a 5200 one and it’s been great. Now I’m going to replace both with 6000 lbs axles but it’s going to be in the fall.
