Hello, neighbors. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Dexter Fortress Threaded Aluminum Oil Cap for 9,000 to 10,000 pound axles. Now folks, this does replace the oil cap O-ring and plug for a few Dexter and Valcrum axles. I'll throw the minor numbers up on the screen there. And looking at the product, you can see this nice, elegant red retainer ring.
That guy is gonna shield the clear viewing lens here against damage from debris from the road and whatnot, or if something actually hits it or whatnot. So, very nice feature. It's got the large plug there in the center, but it also has a nice filling plug right here on the side, which I like. Now this plug, this cap, rather, can actually double as a grease or oil cap, although it's predominantly themed for oil bath hubs and that kind of thing. It's got a nice cast aluminum body.
It's got black coating all around it. It's gonna help protect the bearing and it will help protect the camp itself from rust as well. It has a nice O-ring all the way around the threaded area here. That's gonna give you a nice, tight seal. Now again, this is for 9,000 to 10,000 pound axles.
The overall diameter is three and a half inches with a nice five year warranty. I'll go ahead and throw up a expanded diagram of this just so you can kind of see what all goes into these when they make them. So a nice view of the parts there. I bought a new trailer and the first time I used I lost one of the caps so on customer service is very good, I ordered on Friday to be received on Monday and like at 4 p.m. on Monday I received so I was able to use it on Tuesday, I don’t know about the product because I have not used yet, but customer service is very good.
1000x’s better than the original plastic caps. The originals were only 6 years old. Had two break just from becoming brittle. These shouldn’t leave me stranded.
