Replacement grease seals. Double-lip design helps keep water out and grease in.

They were shipped in the same box as springs. Half of them are bent from the springs. What the heck etrailer

You are right. I would be unhappy too. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

No one in town had these and I had no good reference numbers off of the old seal - etrailer's customer service reps helped me match up a new seal based on my axle make and bearing size and these are a perfect fit.

Wt H.

Thanks for taking the time to follow up with me. Ive only put a few hundred miles of use on the trailer but everything is working great. Ive actually recommended etrailer to my father, a friend of mine and anyone at work who would listen made easier by the fact that I had everything I ordered shipped to my job instead of home. Barring an emergency situation that requires an immediate solution you have my business in the future.

just packed wheel bearings on the boat. had etrailer seals in and replaced with the same. no leaks. great product and no hassle getting them

Richard K.

these are the best seals for replacing and packing wheel bearing, they fit tight and allow no water to get in. The grease seals fit tight and allow no water to get in. And you cant beat the price. I always have a extra set on hand

Well made the they are quite beefy

Like others say great seal, good selection, fast delivery. I was a bit surprised at the E-Trailer packaging. I ordered 12 seals for 3 different SIZE trailers and all 12 were in ONE BAG. So some seals are VERY CLOSE in size to each other, like 2.33 x1.50 vs a 1.68. Needless to say you have to be a McGiver to be doing your own seals anyway, but I had to "Mike" each one and look for numbers on each & seperate for boat or Dune Buggy Trailers. Thats another thing, Taiwan & China ? And the numbers on these new seals are different than the standard Dexter Transcom National or NOK. Good thing my old seals had those numbers, these dont. Keep good NOTES ! Good Luck next owner if I sell.

My son and I purchased an older tandem axle trailer so we could move a tractor we had also purchased. The trailer brakes were disconnected and inoperative, a couple of the hubs had moisture inside. We ordered new brakes bearing seals and bearings and rebuilt both axles. We received all the parts the next day, I don't know how they did it but they did.
We then loaded the tractor and all of the 3 point attachments and drove 450 miles without a problem.

The seals from e trailer were an exact fit. Worked out extremely well since my original seals were discontinued by the company. This was a real lifesaver.

Installation was easy. The etrailer videos are excellent and told me everything I needed to know to do this job correctly.

Great replacement for old seals. I used a 2X4 block of wood to set the seals with no issues.

Good to have in reserve with a seal puller, grease, etc. You can’t count on every parts place having your size.

No problems, these were bought as a spare set

Again a Perfect fit for my 3500lb axels

Seal is a seal. No packaging. (I take the box end with the part number and staple it to the wall of my shop to 'record' the P/N for future use. Or tape it to the wall of the trailer's interior for future reference. Can't do that if there is no box.)

Stacy looked up my information to make sure I got the correct parts, because I got the wrong ones before. Not from E-tailer. they were perfect and she was very pleasant to work with.

Have had no trouble with these grease seals after 1 year's worth of travel with our travel trailer. Used a MIL spec grease widely used on aircraft wheel bearings.

They initially sent the wrong parts but sent the correct ones when notified of the problem. The parts fit perfectly and I took the trailer on a 27 day trip across the country without any issues. The parts are still working as they should a year later.

I called to order Dexter grease seals and was not informed these were a non Dexter equivalent. while they did arrive in good condition they were packaged in a bubble mailer loosely with no real protection.

Much less expensive than the bearing shop here.

These seals are the deep, correct ones for trailers. Worked perfectly.

I grease the wheel bearings on my travel trailer each Spring and replace the grease seals each time. These grease seals are easy to install and keep the grease the bearings and the dirt out.

I repack the wheel bearings on my camper every other year and these grease seals are a necessary item.

Etrailer parts always fit and shipping is ok

Item ordered clearly says outer diameter of 2.56. Item received not even close to what i ordered. Outer diameter was 3.7. Inner diameter 2.1. Very unsatisfied, especially after waiting three weeks for the item to be delivered. Will never order from your store again.

Oh my, I am sorry that we have sent you the wrong seal. Customer Service will be in touch to assist you.

Customer service is the best! One of the original seals ordered had a manufacturing error. I called and talked to Marty. The replacements were sent out immediately, Thank you

Product is fine but packaging was a joke. A very large box was used and only a small amount of kraft paper was used as cushioning. Six to eight of the brake assemblies could have been put in this box. Fortunately there was no damage to my assemblies. I thought that surely this would have been corrected given the number of people that have complained about it. I guess the complaints are not getting to the correct person with the authority to make a change.

Perfect replacement seal, fit the dexter hub perfectly

Seals are an exact replacement for a 20+ year old seal, fit tight, install great, will purchase again if needed

The double lip grease seal for 3500# trailer axle is of sturdy quality and the fit was perfect. Fast shipping from Will definitely order from them again.

  • Is Sealant Needed When Replacing Grease Seals and Dust Caps
Sealant is not required when installing a grease seal, like # RG06-050 you referenced. The cap will not need a sealant either. See the help article I've attached that explains the entire process of replacing bearings, races, and seals. I've also attached a video on repacking bearings and installing grease seals you may find helpful.

To pick out a replacement grease seal you will need to measure the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides with a digital or dial caliper and then need to measure the hub bore where the current seal rides. With those two dimensions we can pick out the correct seal that you would need. I attached a link to a page that has all of the grease seals we carry. • Replacement Grease Seals For Trailer With 3,500 Lb Axle
It sounds like you have a 3,500 lb axle and are replacing the bearing seals. The closest seals to that size we offer are the TruRyde Seals for Trailer Bearings, part # RG06-050. These have an inside diameter of 1.719 and outside diameter of 2.565. I was unable to find the number you referenced, but the seal I mentioned above is a replacement for a Transcom part number 171255TB.

Part # RG06-050 is a set of 2 grease seals for a 3500-lb axle. You will need one seal for each hub on your axle so one kit will work for your single axle trailer. These seals have an inner diameter of 1.719-inches (which matches up to the spindle's diameter) and an outer diameter of 2.565-inches (which matches up to the hub's inner bore diameter). The easiest way to determine which seals you have would be the positively identify the hub you have. Many times there'll be a casting number on the hub, like 8-247 for instance. If you reply with the casting number, I'd be happy to recommend the proper grease seal. Another way would be to provide me with the reference numbers from the inner and outer wheel bearing, along with the diameter of the spindle surface where the seal rides and the diameter of the hub bore on the inside of the...

  • Replacement Seal Recommendation for Dexter 010-004-00
We have the exact seal you would need. For a pair you would want the part # RG06-050. This is a double lip seal that would work great for you. Double lip seals aren't only for EZ lube spindles. They are just basically a better sealing design than single lips seals and are a good idea for all hubs. Typically it's marine applications that have to have them since they do a better job keep water out but we still recommend them for everyone as there is basically no down side to using them.
