I purchased a used excavator and it came with a trailer, well the trailer was thrown into the deal for a reason. All the brakes for both axels had multiple problems, cracked shoes, bad magnets, various rusted parts. After totaling the cost of all the individual items I would need, the cost of a brand new brake kit was only a little more and much more easy to replace, five mounting bolts off five on. I do recommend one thing, in the instructions your given the torque setting for the bolts, so Dexter must feel it's important, so use a torque wrench, rent one if you don't own one.
I received 3 boxes all of which had some sort of damaged or destroyed parts in it. All of the bearing kits are garbage, I will need replacements. The back plate and pad assemblies were ok, only two I had to installed the adjuster bolt back into and inspect for damage, but only received 2 of 4 nut and plug kits seen in pictures attached. Everything was improperly boxed, boxes are way too large for these components and hardware/bearing kits were packaged with very heavy components. Bearing kits should have been shipped separately in a small package. Bearing kit was also not in a proper bag, if not a ziploc at least tape the bag shut. I hope the drums are ok, I will have to grind on 2 of them just to allow the wheel to mate properly. I will have to measure all of the races and drum dimensions to ensure they are not warped or bent in any way. Extremely unhappy with this purchase. What a waste of components.

Tracking down the brake components I needed was easier than expected. I have a 16' gooseneck that didn't have a single stitch of brake shoe left on it. The parts arrived in 2 days and packaging was fine (didn't have any damage or break the tang spindle washer). It was the easiest brake job I've ever done. Bolt the entire assembly on, adjust the brakes, and we're off to the races. Appreciate the etrailer folks and the easy to use website.
The brakes looked like a reboxed return as they were partially disassembled and missing parts.
Jenny N - 11/11/2022Customer service was great! Because my parts were back ordered, etrailer thought they could substitute my needed parts. When I was able to look at the parts after ordering, I was able to see that they would not work for my application. Not even ten minutes had passed when I called back to request my original backing plates. To my astonishment, Chelsea told me my order was already boxed and on the truck and it could not be pulled. After telling her the situation, she understood what happened and corrected it! It unfortunately did take a while to get my parts but no fault of hers. Will be using etrailer when ever possible.

they were packaged loose in a box much bigger than necessary which is fine but also in the box was 8 stainless steel hub caps that got dented up. How careless this was......everything else was 5 stars

ordered 4 brake assemblies and hubs and 2 of the 8 were damaged, delaying my job and costing me time and money. I paid more money for a quality experience and did not get it

Great price on the set of these OEM replacements. I was skeptical that I would be receiving left and right in the set for the posted price. Local trailer parts store was selling a single left or right non-dexter for almost as much.
