  • Left-hand (driver's-side) brake assembly and right-hand (passenger's-side) brake assembly included
    • Mounting bolts and hardware sold separately

Specs:

  • Dimensions: 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide

  • Mounting flange bolt pattern: 4 bolt
  • Center hole diameter: 3"
  • Axle rating: up to 3,750 lbs
  • 1-Year warranty

The unique free-backing design, patented by DICO, lets your trailer move in reverse without actuating the brakes. When you begin backing up, the brake shoes are firm against the drum, as in a braking situation. As you continue in reverse, however, the shoes turn with the drum until the lining pressure is released and you are able to back up freely.

These brakes are designed to eliminate friction between the shoes and drum when you are driving in reverse. A trailer breakaway kit will not be effective should your trailer disconnect from your tow vehicle when backing up.

This product perfectly replaced my tongue master cylinder on my 1992 Capri boat trailer. It bolted right up and the brake line thread was the same. It was super easy. It is a huge improvement!

by:

Great value.
Nice upgrade for my older
boat trailer to avoid the hassle of locking out the brake actuator for backing.

Looking forward to a smooth installation and hassle free backing up of my boat trailer.

by:

Great customer service thx. And the brakes were easy to install , no problems. Off to the lake for some fun.

by:

These folks are top notch to deal with! The customer service whether the order was placed online or on the phone is/was fantastic!

by:

The product fits perfectly on my VM trailer. The only issue was my brand new Craftsman 3/8 Flare wrench would not fit onto the bleeder nut. Fortunately, it is new right now and i can use any wrench to turn it. It will not be easy to bleed the line in the future once the part gets older and the nut will be tough to loosen.

by:

Speedy delivery and great product! Recommend to all my friends.

by:

Great value and quality parts. Fast shipping from etrailer!

  • What Info Is Needed to See if Trailer Can be Converted to Disc Brakes
You are on the right track for determining what disc brake components you'd need to convert your trailer to disc brakes. You'd either need to know the bearing numbers or the dimensions of the spindle where the bearings ride. If you check out the attached help articles you can see a guide we put together for adding disc brakes to a trailer like yours. There isn't a way to determine this based on the dimensions of your axle setup.

The Titan Hydraulic Brake Kit - Free Backing # T4071600-500 will fit so long as your drum is 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide, and you have a 4-bolt brake mounting flange. This is a pretty common set up so it will likely fit but you'll want to make sure, and these brakes will also work with either a 14 inch or 15 inch wheel like you have. These brakes are for a 3,750 lb axle and would only require Mounting Hardware # BRKH10A. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well...
