These trailer brake assemblies act as part of your trailer's hydraulic braking system. A hydraulic trailer brake actuator is required for these brakes to function.

Thoroughly Tested for Safety

These brake assemblies meet the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. These brake assemblies underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. These brakes have also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Automotive-Grade Friction Material

Each shoe on these brake assemblies is lined with automotive-grade friction material for improved stopping performance and longevity. The friction material is fully bonded onto the surface of the brake shoe. This lining is custom-molded for a perfect fit. The edges are tapered to ensure long-lasting performance. This taper, along with the circular grinding that the lining undergoes, helps to prevent cracking and crumbling. This durability helps to prevent mechanical lockup, which can occur when brake shoes are excessively worn or broken.

The friction material is also SAE-N certified, which means that it is an environmentally safe product that complies with California and Washington regulations regarding the composition of brake pads. As a result, this material not only provides high-performance braking that can endure the test of time, but it is also environmentally friendly and safe for use throughout the United States and Canada.

Great bolt up for all components. In and out of ramp on the Oregon coast for three weeks and have rust on springs and connecting components. Backing plates are good but hardware seems a little week with rust problems.

Breaks are working fine although rust is forming on the springs and connecting items.Backing plates and cylinder are mostly rust free. But very easy to install and were ready to go. Using on a boat trailer

When I looked on the website, this item was listed only for 14, 14 1/2, and 15 inch wheels.
I talked to order desk, no help. I have 13 inch wheels. I took a chance and ordered. These fit my 10 x 2 1/4 drums perfectly. Nice anti-corrosive finish. My previous brakes installed with 7/16-14 bolts, these came with 7/16-20 pressed in studs. It would have been nice to include nuts and lock washers to ease installation.

Excellent service parts worked perfectly trailer stops on a dime now confident to take it anywhere. Nick and the crew know their stuff will call each trailer every time working on trailers for parts.

These worked great, the first shipment was missing a part but etrailer fixed the issue and upgraded. quick shipping great communication and follow-up. They will always be my first choice for parts.

Ordered complete brake kits for a tandem boat trailer. Order received within 48 hours of placing the order on line. All parts present and exactly as described. Parts fit perfectly.

Job completed within 4 hours.

I had to replace the brakes on my trailer due to the old brake assemblies wanted to freeze up after any use. Etrailer had the best price and quickest delivery than most of the other suppliers. Quick delivery and good prices can't beat the service!

Worst service ever, ruined vacation! Order was short two backing plate assembly’s. The ones I got had no nuts or lock washers. No indication that you would have to provide your own fasteners, I would have paid extra had I known, that would save a trip to hardware store. Or just simply state that you don’t provide fasteners for installation and give size. My shortages could have been overnighted? Last time I ever use etrailer. I am blogging on every platform available about my experience.

Customer service was very helpful getting me the right parts. Thanks!

Perfect fit. Easy to install. Only minor issue was the bleeder valve rubber cover was stuck on and ripped when removing so had to use one from old brake assemblies.

I am giving the parts a 4 star rating because they didn't come with the 7/16-20 nuts needed to install them mine were rotted so I couldn't reuse them and a 7/16-20 is a really hard size to find. Otherwise the assembly fits fine and looks good, and good quality. Now the shipping was a diffent story I would give the shipping 3 stars their kitting process needs improvement. I ordered them April 28th they didn't kit them and ship them until may 11th even with them listed as in stock some kitting improvment is needed. So make sure you are not in a hurry to receive this kitted item. Allow about a month for delivery.

High quality product, perfect fit on a 1990 boat trailer. And next day delivery !

Made a call to E trailer and all my questions were answered in a quick minute. I trust when I call you always have answers. Thank you all for your work etic.

Excellent fit! Easy to install and kit came with everything you need! I replaced my old worn out brakes. Trailer stops perfect now! Thanks etrailer.

This is an exact fit to the discontinued brake system that I had. It was easy to install and it looks like very good quality. I have no problem recommending this to anyone that is in need to replace their brakes or building there own trailer.

The brake system a year later still works like the day i installed it. Ive never had to add fluid or adjust them. Very happy with the system.

Better than perfect. Did have an issue with getting Parts at first but I was more than compensated for my slight dissatisfaction. This is the only place I'm getting trailer parts from now on.

i wish it was made anewhere but china. fast service.

Michael S.

all good

I ordered the kit and only the RH showed up. I had a scheduled appointment to have them installed that I missed.

Missing half the adjuster for the left brake. I used etrailer instead of [online vendor] because I thought I would get a better product and the correct parts without issues. Not the case.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We definitely want to make sure you get taken care of. I have sent your information to our customer service team and they will be reaching out to you.

I needed new brakes for my boat trailer. After searching several suppliers for quality and pricing I found etrailer to have both qualities. I used these backing plates and their complete braking system including drums and brake lines to bring new life to my trailer. I am very satisfied and safe on the road again. Etrailer is my frist choice for trailer parts.

My new Etrailer braking system has been worki g flawlessly since installed

Got the new brakes you guys are great only took a couple day to get them will be back on the water soon.

Still working great would buy them again.

Missing the hole for water rinse tubing, missing the 4 - 7/16 x20 fine locking nuts, studs are to short to add a lock washer, one of two brake cylinders had a poorly tapped out brake line hole, had to buy a tap to salvage it. Not a bargain, cheap China junk, should have purchased locally thru trailer dealer offering American made. Amazes that etrailer does not at least advise you of such, usually pleased w/ etrailer, not so much now.

I am sorry that you are not pleased with your items. I did want to mention that the nuts and lock washers Item # BRKH10B are sold separately but the adjuster plugs included, cover access holes to keep dirt and grime out of the assemblies and off of the shoes.

Installation and adjustment was straight forward, mounting bolts lined up perfectly as did brake lines. Brass bleed screws sealed well, and I now have functional brakes on my boat trailer again.

After a year of trailering our boat, these brakes are performing great. With todays traffic, I enjoy reliable trailer brakes more than ever. No noise, grabbing or other issues. Good product!

Order shipped promptly and arrived on time and in good condition. Installation was easy. Resolved issues with wheel cylinders and brake shoes with quick 4 bolt installation.

Product continues to perform as expected. Very pleased.

Your customer service girls were nice but your warehouse must be a total disaster in stock items took 17 days to ship TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE probably will never order from you again

etrailer has been a great experience. I ordered these brakes (along with the added nut and lock washers - they are a separate item) plus 4 bearing, race and seal kits and some new dust covers. Product that arrive was as described. I installed them this weekend and bleed the lines. Everything went together as expected. Here's the best part. I ordered these parts at around 9:45 pm on a Wednesday (I'm in Michigan). I used the standard free shipping option. I got an e-mail about an hour and fifteen minutes later letting me know that the shipment had been packaged and had shipped. This e-mail came through at around 11:15 pm. I was shocked at the service. My package was delivered Friday afternoon, less than 48 hours after I ordered. I will buy from etrailer again!

  • Replacement Hydraulic Brake Assemblies for Dexter 3500 lb Capacity Axle
I've checked the 154755414 s/n you provided with Dexter, who tells me you have a standard 3500 lb axle. A 3500 lb axle would use a 10 inch brake assembly like the # AKUBRK-35 hydraulic brake assemblies you mentioned. If this is for use on a boat or snowmobile trailer, I'd recommend the # AKUBRK-35-D due to the improved corrosion resistance provided by its Dacromet coating, stainless steel springs and aluminum wheel cylinder housings.

You will adjust the brakes using that wheel until there is a slight but constant drag of the shoe pads on the drum.
